We are going may 19-20 after a cruise, staying at the Dolphin on points. Our goal is to see new stuff at AK and Epcot. We already have booked the evening AK tour for Saturday May 19 and got FP for frozen ride in Epcot on Sunday May 20 in the AM. Our flight leaves late evening on the 20th, giving us only the day in Epcot. (Leaving at 5 to go back to the hotel and then to the airport.)

We don’t have park hoppers. It would be $70 each for us to upgrade...but since we are staying at AK for the first Rivers of light on May 19, I don’t think it’s worth it, even though MK closes at midnight. ( or is it “worth it” how much could we, two 40 something adults, actually do in MK on a Saturday night?)

...this means no MK for me...I know this is the right (financial) choice....just gotta convince the emotional side now.

We have not booked our two remaining FPs in Epcot for Sunday May 20. On the morning of May 20, will we have the option to book another tier one? Or do we have to waste time with two tier twos?

We want to ride the new (to us) Soarin’, but avoiding lines due to our very limited time in the park. The rest of the time we will take it easy and just see what has low wait times. We will try to do TT as well, on the single rider line, if there is one, (I forget!) but not a priority...

Can anyone help with my FP question?

Hitting the "big three" in Epcot is easy if you can be there at park open. First, I'd suggest seeing if you can switch your FP+ for FEA and either get TT or Soarin' instead. Then do one of the following two options.

Option A
1. Get a FP+ for Soarin' around 10:00am
2. Go right to Test Track at park open. No need for single rider (yes, it's still there), you can ride together.
3. Get off Test Track and go right to FEA. It's a pretty short walk. Ride standby, the line will still be short.
4. Take your time and walk over to Soarin'. Since you'll have a FP+, no need to hurry, as it's a long walk.

Option B
1. Get FP+ for TT
2. Go right to Soarin', do it standby
3. Hustle over to FEA, do it standby
4. FP+ TT

I much prefer option A, as it's a long walk from Soarin' to FEA, but either will work. If you absolutely are stuck with FEA on your FP+, then I'd go straight to Soarin', do TT single rider, then FEA FP+

Would your advice change knowing we are coming in through the international gateway? We got frozen first because my worry was the standby line would be too long

Coming from IG, I would head to FEA right at RD. Then head to TT and either ride standby if the line is reasonable, or use single rider. Then have a FP for Soarin. If you don't care about any of the other rides, make the other 2 FP for first thing in the AM, let them expire, then you can try for another Tier 1.

What time is your FEA FP+?

If there is any way to switch things around? IMHO, your best strategy is to RD either Soarin' or FEA, single rider TT and then FP+ whichever ride you didn't RD. I would do one of the following:

Option 1
RD Soarin'
Do single rider for TT
FP+ FEA (I would make this for 11 am or later)

Option 2
RD FEA
single rider TT
FP+ Soarin' (again, around 11 am or later)

Our FEA is at 11. We are coming in to the IG, and our original plan was Soarin at RD, see if we have time to do TT standby or single rider, and then head over to FEA.

Does the IG open the same time as the main gate?

Yes, IG will open at the same time as the FW entrance. I think you have a good plan! Were there other rides you wanted to FP+?

Just stuff that might not need it...we love Mexico’s ride and Nemo, and spaceship earth...we have to leave by 5, so our time is quite limited.

This trip has to hold me over till we go for a week in 2021 for MK’s big 5 0. (Saving up to do an 8 hr Disney private Tour Guide with some friends!)
