1/3/09 Magic - First Time To St. Croix

Welcome Aboard!

This is our 8th DCL cruise and are very happy to be in an inside cabin on deck two! :thumbsup2

Cove Cafe is a favorite place to hang out for some of us. A latte and some friendly conversation are always welcomed.

There will be lots of tips to share with one another. So we'll see you here soon. :surfweb:

This will be number 11 for us. Number 10 is the upcoming West Bound Canal. We will be hanging at Cove Cafe with Brack and his lovely wife Annette! We too are Cat 11 inside. Cozy, totally dark and great for sleeping!

I can't wait til we hit double digits on Disney cruises.... what of the 8 cruises you have been on is your favorite? Do you have a favorite time of year to go?

We live in Tennessee so going this year in January for a 3 day was a Wonder-ful break... now for a Magic-al time by the equator and worrying about sunburn in January.... Yahoooo

Also... I like your signature area! Very cool!

Yep, you WILL get sunburned in the Caribbean in January! :cool2:

Someone mentioned so I asked and got an answer that instead of the 7 day cruises having character breakfast for pics and autographs at each table they are now doing an interactive island oriented dance and play time... how will kids eat with this excitement???? and moreover... how will I get all those great pics for my scrapbooking when the kids are all over the place playing with the characters????? I like the personal table by table way personally. There is a thread here where someone posted a link to email disney cruise about our idea to return this to the old way ... so we will see what happens... I will try to find the thread about this if you don't but I think it is in this area... too tired from working to remember. :rolleyes1

I know that LOTS of DISers have added this to their comment cards at the end of the cruise. Guess Disney is not listening, which I find surprising.

We are going through a TA and we just told her which rotation we wanted. Poof :wizard: - it's done. It does help to know what the rotations are - but I think everybody here has a clue! :hippie: Now, we do have a BIG group and our TA told us that it is easier to accommodate big groups over smaller ones....:confused3 But try calling your TA or DCL and see if they can't just go ahead and put you the rotation you want. Personally I'd rather have that nailed down pre-boarding so we don't have to stand in line on embarkation day changing all that mess.

OOoooo note to self....gotta see if Antonio is still serving on the Magic and request him as our server. :thumbsup2

I've been told that you can request and they try to accomodate, but do not guarantee. But, I also know that the 2 times we have requested a specific rotation we did get what we requested. :flower3:

I was just on another thread looking at all the great fish extenders people have made. We used Christmas stockings on our December 8th cruise. I am thinking about ideas for our new FE. I hope we do another gift exchange on this cruise. We really had fun checking our stocking evertime we returned to our room, I told you we are just big kids. :goodvibes

I'm all up for an exchange! We have a fish extender that we got for the Canal Cruise, so it will be hanging on our door. :thumbsup2

Hi all,
I will also be on the Disney Magic for its first voyage to St. Croix. This will be my familys 4th cruise with Disney and my last as a teen. Any other teens out there? And just a question what magician was on your cruises? I had Rich Poporia...
It's Magic on the Disney Magic.......

We will quite likely have our grandson with us. He will be 19. It will be his late HS graduation gift at winter break from his first year in college. We have see Rich. He was a hoot!

We are going and my kids are curious if they will be the only older teens. My DS is 19 and DD is 18 then. They had such a great time on the NYE cruise, but all the kids were out of school. They are hoping to have as much fun and make as many friends!

Argh! Wife of Boss just called...........she did not sound happy with her mixed bouquet of flowers for Valentine's Day. I asked him if wanted roses and he said no .... mixed flowers. She asked if I ordered her flowers, first I didn't know if I should say yes or no......does she think he orders her flowers for every occasion or ? Geessh. Darned if I do and darned if I don't. She wanted to know if I ordered something specific (I'm thinking she meant did I order roses). I said, yes R------ wanted mixed, she said oh, and she sounded very unhappy. She was okay that they were delivered today, just didn't like what she got.:confused3

My wife and I (we are in our 30's) and my parents (in their 60's) booked on this cruise last week. We will be celebrating my graduation from divinity school and my parents' 40th wedding anniversary. Both events occur earlier in the year, but this is the first time we could get our calendars to match up. This will be our 4th cruise on the Magic and my parents' second. We booked a category 7 Navigator's Verandah on deck 7. We have been in 11's and a 9 in the past, and are looking forward to having a verandah for the first time.

Thanks :thumbsup2

The cruises I have enjoyed the most have been the last two where we were very involved with friends from the DISboard. :disrocks:

December and January are great months to cruise.

Welcome aboard!!! Let me guess y'all are StarTrek fans/SciFi fans??? I'm psychic ya know! ;) DH and I are also big SciFi-ers. The assimilation is complete on our dd too! :thumbsup2 Resistance is futile. :3dglasses

OK...we know I'm obsessed! The gym where I work has "bring a friend week" this week. One of my sweet little 5 year olds brought a friend with him today. His friend's name was "Brad"...guess what I called him for the first 10 minutes of class (until he corrected me)??? BRACK! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

:rotfl:

Welcome Aboard to all of the newcomers. :thumbsup2

On the subject of Valentine's Day...here's how to know your husband *really* knows you...I have Raynaud's syndrome, which means that the blood vessels in my hands, feet, and certain other extremities don't open all the way and they stay cold. DH gave me a very fuzzy warm pair of socks for V-day! They also have my favorite sock monkeys on them (I didn't realize until about 13 years ago that people other than me and my sister knew about sock monkeys). So, to somebody else that may seem like a lousy gift...but since my feet are perpetually cold and I wear an average of 15-20 pair of socks a week to keep them warm, it was very sweet.

DGS 19 hopefully! Sounds like a few this age. :thumbsup2

:sad2: Seems this is what gives us wives a bad name and makes men think there is no pleasing us. Guess she is not one that is happy that he thought of her, but is unhappy that he did not read her mind to know exactly what she wanted. :confused3

Welcome to you all! Will your parents be joining us on the DIS?
