It's hard to believe that a week from today we will be in the air on our way to Houston. Staying the night there at the Holiday Inn Express (which has an indoor pool) and then back to the airport in the morning to catch the Disney shuttle to the port.

Our grandson still has no idea that we are going. He is here with us today as he has a day off school, so I have to watch what I do as far as preparations...packing, FE, etc. He is going to be so excited. I can't wait to see the expression on his face on Friday when he finds out he will be going on an airplane for the first time and then on a Disney cruise.

This will be the first Disney Cruise for my wife, 2 daughters (12 & 8) and myself. We're right now scrambling to make sure we have everything accounted for and getting packed - very excited about this and from the enthusiasm on this thread looks like we're in for a very nice time!

Our planned excursions are the Atlantis Submarine in GC and the beach break in Cozumel. The FE looks very cool, but we'll save that for future cruises - don't want to overwhelm first time out.

If anybody has any good newbie tips, we're all ears (so to speak!) I know there's way too much to share, but anything that stands out from your past experiences would be helpful! One question we're trying to decide is on luggage choice: duffles vs. nesting suitcases. Any hints?

I am a newbie too, but I have learned so much from Disers! I am glad I jumped in. I am extremely shy, so this is forcing me to break out of my shell, so to speak. No guarantees about in person, tho lol

Hi all! It's very last minute, but I'll be joining you on this sailing as well! If we had known earlier we would have joined up with the FE. It's always a lot of fun. We'll still hang ours up since I got a few little things to put in there each day to surprise my son. It will be my DS (almost 5) and myself. DH and DD are staying back home and this is just a mommy-son trip. Hooray!

Anything I missed on your thread that you're planning? Fill me in!!! Any other moms and their little boys onboard? It's sure to be a fun cruise! See you all very soon!

Hi everyone! We will try to stop by the Promenade Lounge to meet up with you all then! I don't have my stateroom assignment yet. I should have it by early in the week so I'll let you know when I do.
