ok, sorry guys. this is going to be in pieces due to the kids!
palo was amazing! it was very elegant and "posh" to me. we had florencia from argentina was our server and she was perfect!we ordered bellinis, wood oven pizza for appitizer(big thumbs up)that seemed to melt in our mouths, and a salad, and i had a melt in my mouth filet. OMG
!it was soooo good! dh couldnt decide between the filet and a shrimp pesto-ish dish, but ordered the filet. when florencia carried out the entrees, she brought out both the filet and shrimp for him. what a doll! very attentive service, and she also made a point to get to know us. dessert----the food gods were smiling down on us when the chocolate souflee was brought out to us. words do not describe this gem. really!
during the afternoons, we used pinoccios pizza(not bad), plutos hot dogs which had bugers, hot dogs, chx tenders, etc. and it was pretty good. we used scoops for the fruit and ice cream 2-3 x's an afternnon. fresh papaya, pineapple, melons, etc. theres soft serve ice cream with lots of toppings to make a sunday. the last thing i will say about the food--- I GAINED 3 1/2 LBS
IM HORRIFIED!
nightclubs--
we went to deversions and watched the hockey game and a super bowl preview show on espn one night. very good selection of beer. reasonable prices. we liked that there was a few snacks like nachos , pretzels, etc.
we went to 80's nite at rockin bar d. we had soooo much fun!the cast danced and made the crowd participate by dancing, playing air guitar, trivia, etc. it was hysterical!if you are an 80"s fan, its definatelysomething to have fun with. the bar was pretty crowded. all the parents letting loose.it was a pretty big nightclub, so it didnt feel crowded. junction 21 dressed 80 and played 80hits, too. they are pretty good. my dh really liked them---the lead singer was a cute blond with a nice bod
. so, of course he liked them!
we stopped in the promenade lounge for some light music and a glass of wine beforehand. nice, quiet and elegant.
parties--
we went to the trop. party on deck. very fun, but a little late to keep the kids out so we left when it got into full swing. junction 21 played, everyone danced on the floor put on the pool, charcacters came out. i would love to have stayed
. thers always next time.
spa--
we used the gym quite a bit. very nice, updated machines. i loved the fact that everyone gets to watch your own tv while you work out. it can get pretty crowded in the am, so its better to go in the afternoon. i didnt like that it closed so early--830 pm. wow, thats my first complaint about anything!
pools--
so nice! the only gripe i had with that was the reserving of chairs-loungers. but, when i had that first encounter that first day, i knew what i had to do!
so, no biggie!
weather--
perfect! absolutly wonderful! a couple drizzlesin the eve af ew nights when we were already in for the night, so no one cared!
shutters--
we brought a digital camera, a 35 mm, a dig. video recorder, and a disposible water camera. we are geeks
, anyway, even with the media circus we brought with, we still bought some beautiful photos of the family and the kids with chacters. if you do want to buy, theres packages that seemed reasonable. dont quote me, bit i think the main one people purchased was the 10 photos fo $89.00. beautiful, clear candid shots of the kids at castaway, near the pool, dancing with goofy and mickey ay the pool in the afternoon. good purchases!
characters--
......were everywhere
!!! if you pay attention to the navigator, you will see them eveywhere!all the way from 11 am-10pm. we have a ton of pix!they even came to the kids club, which gave the kids time to actually "play" with them . snow white came to tell stories, stitch came and went "nuts"trying to eat curtains and acting crazy
. my ciara loved it!
more in a bit.....guess whos waking up?
