OMG! I just checked the weather for Cozumel and Grand Cayman for tues and wed- it appears there is going to be rain BOTH days (low 80's) and of course, castaway cay is going to be only low 70's with frigid water temps. Are you kidding me with this? not one beach day will be good for swimmng. I am so bummed! I was looking forward to at least ONE good day to swim.

Cruisin, we are also leaving from Detroit, what day are you flying out? We are leaving Friday morning flying on Northwest.

We are leaving mid afternoon on Friday, flying with AirTran.

You will probably be gone before we get there.

Do you have a non stop flight?

We usually do only non stop but they were much more expensive this time, so we have a stop each way in Atlanta. Just short stops though.

I'm going to try to get to reading this whole thread all the way thru.:coffee:

Maybe I can catch up on it tonight.

So far we are still listed as a Gty Cat 12 cabin.

I wonder if they will give us a cabin before we leave or if we will have to wait until we get to the port to find out?

Sounds wonderful to me. :sunny:

Much much better than the below freezing temps we've been having here for the last month.

But then I'm not really a swimmer, so as long as it's shorts and t-shirt weather, I'm happy.

If it does rain, what do they do about the beach excursions? (I'm signed up for 7 mile beach at Grand Cayman.) Do we get our money back or do they only do that if it's a pouring thunderstorm?

I wouldn't get too worked up over the rain. It's possible that it will only rain a portion of the day. Last time we were in Grand Cayman, it rained so hard in the morning...literally buckets coming down. By 11:00, the sun was out, albeit hazy, but still a nice day at the beach. Think positive!!!

Glad to see that everyone is getting ready, we are flying out to Disney tomorrow, staying at a hotel tonight since we are not flying out of Hartford but from White Plains, NY. All done with the FE gifts and we are taking it as extra baggage with us, not enough time to ship and it is probably cheaper to take with us. Looking forward to meeting everyone on Saturday. Warm weather here we come.

Hi,

It is getting SO close, I don't have a thing packed but I have a BIG list (does that count?)

I hope the weather report changes over the next few days, who believes the weatherman anyways? We will be in the Caribbean looking out for Captain Jack! It will be great whatever the weather.

We are in room 2631. Emily & Bob, Ian 12, Andrew 9, Xavier 6. I don't think we will be getting a free upgrade as we have more family in an adjoining room and more across the hall. We will stick together in bowels of the ship and be happy about it. :)

Chernabog - I know where "Touchdown Jesus" is, quite a site! Safe travels, see just you on the hotel shuttle then.

Everyone at WDW keep having a great time!

We are nearly neighbors...we are just down the hall from you guys in 2638 and 2640!

And don't worry...I'm in the same 'Have list, not packed' category as you!

Just a few more days!!!!

Oh, WOW...this is really happening!!! Our bags are packed and we head out tomorrow! The kids will go to school for about 3 hours, and we will head straight to the airport after picking them up.

I just realized our couples choice massage is scheduled right before our "meet" on Monday. It never even crossed my mind, since I booked it so long ago. My son will still be in Flounder's after the massage, so we'll try to find the group then.

We'll be at Country Inns & Suites Friday night.

See you soon :cool1:

3 days! I'm not packed. I am a last minute packer. Otherwise I'll second guess myself the entire flight out there. "Did I pack that on Monday or was it Tuesday?"
I fly out Friday and will hang out at Downtown Disney Friday night.

You're right. Hey, come to think of it, it was supposed to rain on my last Disney cruise (in 2003). Tag Fairy even joked about it. See my tags to the left. :)

Glad to see I am not the only one that hasn't started packing yet, although like the rest of you I have a list going. I am starting to freak out. So much to do and running out of time. Then of course I am on these boards instead of doing the things on my list. Oh well, no matter what I am outta here Friday morning bags packed or not.:cool1:

Melrosgirl the meet times are Sat. January 24 at 3:15 (promenade lounge) and Monday January, 26 at 11:00 (promenade lounge.)

Rain?!? Rain in the caribbean is semi-warm right? I've been dealing with below zero for a week now, I'm certainly not afraid of a little lukewarm rain. Plus, as an added bonus, I'm water proof!

Safe travels everyone.

thanks! I hope to be at one of these. :)

Well, I am basically all packed and just finishing the rest of the FE gifts. We leave out tomorrow night and will be in Orlando by 1700 on Friday! Can't wait! All my past cruises, we have arrived the Saturday morning and just hopped off the plane onto the bus headed for port. Does anyone know what time the earliest is that we can arrive at the airport to get on the busses? I want to say 8 or 9 but I am not sure...

I don't care if it is raining on the cruise either since it has been well below zero for the past two months out here! I will be wearing shorts and enjoying the 60 - 7- degree weather since it will literally be 100 degrees warmer than Alaska! Yay! And, I get to see the sun! Please don't laugh at me since I am pasty white since we don't get to see the sun up here! I didn't have time to hit the tanning beds!

I know that the terminal does not open until around 10:30 am, so I'm not sure what time they would send buses out from the airport:confused3

It takes a little bit less than an hour to get there.

I'm thinking they would make sure the bus was close to full before they would run it all the way out to Port Canaveral.

We always just make a one way car rental so that we can travel over to the coast on our own time schedule.

Does having everyone's clothes out all over their beds count for something? That is where I am at with myself and three kids. Hubby will pack in five minutes and ask me what the problem is. :)

I think I have to go out and buy one more BIG suitcase tonight. Its been a long time since we have flown to a vacation spot. I am just used to stuffing everyone and everything in the minivan. This should be an experience.

We are all pasty white! A few red heads and non-sunworshippers. We will be pink and freckley this time next week! (I am bringing LOTS of sunscreen.)

Safe travels all!
