1/22/2006 Roll Call for Wonder Cruisers

That's a big problem for me going to Florida in January! If it's Florida, I expect to wear shorts....but it seems like it's cooler than it should be! The good news is that the Bahamas are a lot further south than Florida! :cool1: I looked at the weather right now and it looks like Panama weather~~highs 86 or 87º, lows 74 or 75º, scattered rainshowers....of course, it isn't January yet either.....

I googled (oh yeah, Alvaro, google rocks!) Nassau bahamas weather January and got this:

January is an "iffy" season. If you are looking for warm weather and swimming weather, you might want to go a bit more south.
January has warm weather, but can be breezey and sometimes cool, depending on the weather pattern. You can still swim, the water is a bit brisk - like June at the Jersey shore.
For me, personally, I like January/February. No humidity, no sweltering heat. Just nice weather for shorts and a t-shirt, instead of the winter coat back home.
Average temps in January would be high 70's - low 80's. Evenings can get cooler in the low 60's. Delightful.

Sounds good to me. I do not mind shorts in the day and sweatshirts in the evening. I would rather have it that way and less crowds to.

I just wish disney would release thier park schedules for January with the extra magic hours so I know whether to buy hopper passes or just standard MYW tickets. I am still deciding on the dining plan to as the little kids just do not eat that much. The cruise will be great though if they do not ezt it no big deal, just get more later without added expense!

:flower1: 14 weeks until we sail:flower1: ( or y'all sail, in my case)

Good day everyone! I can't believe it is only 14 weeks until we are on board again! I have never booked a cruise that was so soon. I usually book a year or two out, this is weird. I hope that I will be able to go with yall. I am to depressed to sit down and actually figure out if I can afford to pay for this cruise, as well as the deductible on my car repairs. Can you say DENIAL??? Sigh. BUt I was looking at my paperwork, and I see that final payment is due Oct 29th? Does that sound about right? I will know by then, that is for sure....

Hi! Nice to meet you. It sounds as though we all have a bit in common! Now I know nothing about phones I just get to go to all of the acuta conventions and other phone conventions. Fun for me without any work on my part except herding the kids!

That should be about right. Our final payment is due the first few days of November. It will be disney visa card for us to get the extra rewards. I know how expenses go with only one income here. Oh well this will be worth it for us sinceit is our first disney cruise.

well that kind of sucks. I hate paying per minute. I noticed they have unlimited access in the internet cafe but that is not wireless. I just might do that.

Well it was nice messaging. I'd better take the kids out to play now and get something done before DH gets ticked. :rotfl2:

I'll sign on later.

Btw, I know 2 of your favorite internet tools... goggle & mapquest! :rotfl2:

Goggle? Is that a male Freudian slip? :rotfl2:

I'm late to the Sunday morning party, lol. Been watching the weather... TD 24. It's hardly moving, which is bad since I'll be on the Magic next week. And right now they have it coming to our area again - yeesh, we're still fixing our house from Ivan. The good news is it's so far out no one really knows, and we've been having cooler weather than a month ago so that should weaken it if it actually comes this way. We'll just leave our window boards in the garage for my FIL and hope, lol.

Num1tigerfan... hello! :) Last time we cruised we were in the Bahamas (Castaway Cay) in January. It was pleasant in shorts, but pretty cool in the water. We really enjoyed having the warmth but not roasting. I would recommend a light jacket and long pants in your luggage in case it gets breezy on the ship. Of course, living in FL "breezy" to me is anytime it drops below 80, lol. I'm a cold weather wimp.

Kelli, how's your paint? We've been doing that around here, too. Can't tell you how many times we've pulled a piece off with the tape. And we had to recoat the bathroom with a different gallon of paint and they mixed it slightly darker... oy! I want the lighter color back but my dh has had it with painting. :teeth:

Wow, I went away from the computer between typing my message and posting it, and now there are about 25 more posts! Good morning (or afternoon, as the case may be) Dzneprincess. :) We've been a little on the tight side financially around here, too... lots of unexpected expenses. I hope everything falls into place quickly for you. And if not, just do what I do. Find a way to justify it anyway. :rotfl:

Well, I'm with HIM!!!!! :sunny: Actually, I like the painting part, its all the pre- and post-painting work I despise!!! Anything involving moving furniture is against my religion! I told Keith what you said about pulling off the tape, (I made sure to use your name!) and he just looked at me....I said, "I know, its not in YOUR house!" He said, "And it never will be!" So, I guess you're safe and won't ever have to paint my house!!!! :rotfl2: Bummer for you, huh?

Good chatting with all of you, too! We're going to go shopping and finish our running around for the weekend....ttfn!

Good day to you too :-) Someone on one of my other threads just reminded me that tax season will be soon...

That's funny because I do the same thing at my house. It's a good thing I can clean really quick when I need too!!!! :goodvibes

Yes tax time is just around the corner. I don't know about anybody else, but with 4 kids we look forward to that as we usually get quite a bit back. That always pays off those holiday Credit cards and anything else I just couldn't live without if you know what I mean! ;-)

Hi Melissa,
We did most of our painting and remodeling this spring & summer. We painted 2 rooms, and put down laminate flooring in living room and DD (17) room and redecorated the main bathroom....... Now we are broke!! No not really but everything left has to go for our vacation! :Pinkbounc

Nice meeting you :wave2:
