1/21/07 Wonder

Hi Everyone,
I just booked the Atlantis room for 159.00 for the day. I also called there to be sure we could use the beach, slides, tour the aquarium, go to the casino, eat in the restaurant if we want(very expensive). They said yes to everything since we are guests at the resort we can use anything and everything they have to offer. This is a great price, you may want to consider this if you booked anything to do with Atlantis through Disney excursions. You still have time to cancel on Disney.

Hello everyone - I've been lurking here for several months in preparation for our trip IN LESS THAN A WEEK!!!! Wow! Can you believe it? Will be traveling with DH and 2 sons, ages 8 and 10. We will also be sailing with DH's family (16 of us total). Actually the cruise is a gift from in-laws. This is the first Disney Cruise for everyone, although all of us grown-ups have at least one cruise under our belts.

Anyone staying on Saturday nite in Port Canaveral? We made reservations this weekend at Fawlty Towers.

Susan
(sorry, haven't learned yet how to post pics and signatures!)

Susan,
Welcome aboard! Feel free to re-read the posts so you can join us for the cruise meet. Also we are going to wear Mickey Heads (paint chips from Home Depot) with our names on them for the meet. We are staying in Port Canaveral at the Marriott Residence Inn.
Who is in your party and where are you all from? Mickey Minder will add you to the list!

I just got done reading all the posts on the thread. The first couple of pages cracked me up with only the 2 original posters.

Let's see if I get this right for our family:

me, DH, DS 8, DS, 10
SIL/BIL and their DS 7
BIL/SIL, and their DS 7
BIL/SIL, and their DS 8 and DS 5
of course, MIL and FIL

we are all on Deck 9.

We will celebrating 3 birthdays: my husbands, DH's brother (40) and DH's sister.

I've got the info about the DIS meet and will try to make it, if not meeting up with the family.

Both of my sons (8 and 10) are NOT excited about the clubs. Hope to change their minds when they are open for families to visit on the first nite.

Susan

Susan,
It was slow for a while with the postings. We still haven't heard from some people in a while! I have a 10 year old and 13 year old son . The 10 yr old is signed up for the Oceaneer Club. You should be DW (Disney Wife)! We are on Deck 8. Hope you can make it to the meet. It would be nice for the kids too!

suloilo,
Welcome to the group. We look forward to seeing you and your extended family. I think your boys will change their minds about the club, but there are so many things to see and do. They definitely won't be bored. Yes, for a while, I did think we were going to be alone.

CBSPRINGS - nice catch on the Atlantis! Wow - now I can't decide what to do! I was going to "wing it" on the Bahamas day...but now I'm thinking maybe something like that would be a good way to spend the day. Especially w/all they have to offer for that rate - it would net to $50/pp for us; not bad for a day of entertainment. I would hate if the weather were bad though...then what?? ! Gosh, more decisions.
Anyone else booking a room?

Melanie and Everyone else,
Hey how are you? This is the best deal around. If you plan on leaving the ship where else would you want to go? At least here they have several indoor activities that can keep you dry all day should it rain! If anyone decide to book this please let me know before you do. This ressie is good for only 4 people to a room
I didn't realize that when I booked it. I need to add 1 more kid to someone elses ressie who has 3 or less or 1 of the children in the party of 4 is under five. They are considered free and don't need a bracelet. The price doesn't change or anything!
Even though you don't use the room they only allow for 4 bracelets per room.
Hoping I can get help from this board!
Cbsprings

Hey all, on the Atlantis do you know if you need the bracelets just to walk around? i have 4 kids, one is 3 so sounds like i could use one room, but would hate to need a second room for my parents who would not be going on water slides! are they allowed in pool area?

also I am travelling with friends, who have DS 11 an dDS 8, as well as DD 3.

i'm getting nervous--weather reports shows maybe rain...

Rebecca,
I just called there. They said you can walk around but can't use the slides without a bracelet, but you still need to be a registered guest! I bet there are lots of people walking around without bracelets!(who keeps track of this) They claim they don't sell day passes. Althoug they do if you walk in on the day of. If the child is under 4 years old they are free. They also must be 48" to ride the slides. Maybe it was in my Passporter book, I will check it out. I read somewhere you can just buy a pass for $25.00 to visit and not use the pool. If you book the room it is non-refundable. Sounds like you still have 1 too many people. Disney charges $130.00 per adult for this and 98.00 per child. You are still getting a bargain even with 2 rooms.Even if it rains which it will in the Bahamas there is still indoor activities at Atlantis. Things like the Aquarium, Casino and Shopping to keep you busy even if it is just for a few hours. Let me know if you get any answers on this question. I still haven't had any offers from anyone yet to fix my dilemma!

sounds worthwhile, although i may just stay on board, it's our first cruise, weather not broiling and we will have waterslides on weekend before at the Ron Jon Cape Caribe. and we plan a future trip to Atlantis.. will give me a chance to workout when the ships not moving! do you know if kids clubs stay open on board on Nassau day?

I can't believe it's this close!

THESE ARE POSTS I JUST FOUND WHICH SOLVES THE PROBLEM OF A 5TH PERSON ON AN ATLANTIS RESERVATION.

#1 Anyway -- at the locations where you buy tickets for tours AT Atlantis (outside the Dig was where I saw the signs) the sign now includes three options. One for just the Dig & grounds and is still $29, kids $21, one for the dig, grounds & beach for $52 adult or child, and one for full access to everything including the pools, lagoon, slides. That is $88 per person, adults & kids. If you are a party of only two, this will be cheaper than comfort suites and will save the time you would spend checking in to CS, etc.
There is also a great hospitality center in the cave near the Seagrape Restaurant where there are showers, lockers, towles, etc. I'm not sure if this option will be available year round or not since perhaps January is a bit slower, but clearly they had revised their admission signs since we were there a year ago to now include the full use option. I took a photo of the sign I was so surprised. I'll put a link up later when I'm more functional. I also saw lots of people who appeared to be "sneaking in" to a couple of the pools but couldn't get in to the slides or other areas. More on that later, too, I promise.
#2 Just a little FYI on that info...
I got so excited when you posted that, THANK YOU AGAIN BTW

, that I called the Atlantis immediately to make sure that it would definately be available for my April cruise.
According to them, that is a tactic they use when bookings are low to fill up space. In other words she said, "We have a certain number of people of resort can hold, if we are reached to capacity, that will not be made available to the public."
eek.gif

Well, IMHO, then why would they allow several other hotels to access their grounds seasonally? She did not have an answer of course.
rolleyes.gif

So I do not know if it was a hit or miss or what... I sent an e-mail out too to see what somone else says.
But thanks for the info regardles.... it gives me a different avenue to persue, given that the rates for April for the Comfort Suites are in the $260 range as of now!

THIS IS THE ANSWER FOR ME. I KNOW I READ SOMEWHERE THAT THEY SOLD DAY PASSES. HOPE THIS INFO IS USEFUL TO OTHER CRUISERS. THE LAST DAY TO BOOK THOSE ROOMS AT ATLANTIS IS 1/21/07.

We are officially on our way to Tampa for 2 days before heading to Port Canaveral - safe trips for everyone!!!
Looking forward to the meet if it works out!
