We are planning a return trip to WDW for January 2003. We stayed at SOG last January but we realize it will be closed next year. Any thoughts on staying at the Contemporary versus trying to get an overflow rate for Port Orleans Riverside? We have both looked at photos for POR and we think we'd like to try that. But staying at a monorail resort certainly has its advantages.

Thus far have stayed at SOG, GF [honeymoon], Grosvenor.

Thanks for the input.

My thoughts are this. You will never get Contemporary for that price again, but you can always get overflow rates. We will be staying there in November, and CAN NOT wait. Or, split your stay between the 2.

I agree, you will never get a rate this low at the Contemporary again. If you stayed at the GF you know how nice it is to be on the monorail. We just got back from a stay at the Polynesian with an overeflow rate and LOVED it! Plus the rooms are bigger at the Contemporary and you can walk to MK! Have fun no matter what you decide.

I say you might want to take advantage of this opportunity to stay at the Contemporary. If you do go for the overflow rates at POR, keep your eyes open, as you can frequently do better than the overflow rates SOG offers on the moderates.
