1/20/07 Eastern Roll Call

You can use magnetic tape to put them on the doors I think.
PM bywheel ( she is my sister) and ask her. She made the signs for our cruise, we have 3 staterooms, and is in the know.

I used magnetic paper that I got online, though you can get it at Staples. Just find a picture you like and use your computer to print it out. You can also get magnetic strips or blocks at Staples that you can glue onto regular paper. I would laminate the paper to give it a bit more strength. Since the stateroom doors are metal, the sign will attach itself and then when you leave, no damage to the door!

DW got magnetic paper at Wal Mart.

Mailed a box to the ship earlier this week. Seems like each night DW has some clothes for the kids to try on to see if they still fit or if what she bought ;) is the right size. Almost there.....only four more days of work until we head for Orlando.

Plan to start packing some things this weekend; hopefully it won't get too out of control.

Wishing safe travel to everyone.

Thanks for the positive feedback on the door signs. I just printed them out on thick glossy photo paper. I then got some flexible adhesive magnet sheets from Michaels craft store. You can cut it into strips, then peel off the backing and it sticks right to the back of the signs. I tried them out on the fridge and they stick great. I also printed out some Mickey ears to put around the round stateroom number plaque on the door. I got the idea from the door sign thread - lots of great ideas there.

Ok, this is probably a dumb question...on board, is it hot on the ship? I know to take a sweater for evening entertainment, but otherwise wandering around and on the upper deck, is it hot? Or is there a nice breeze all the time?

And if my children (or me!) wore the same thing every day, would you notice? (or would you be nice and pretend not to?) :) Or would we smell too bad?!

Susan,
I promise I won't say anything if you don't. (I have one bathing suit and can't seem to find my other one...how scary could that be.)

I am not sure about ship temperatures .....I'm thinking that it might be cool with the air conditioning on inside.....and hoping for anything above freezing on the outside. I shouldn't complain though. It has been a very weird winter here in New England with above average temps, unfrozen lakes and no snow. Makes me a little nervous about the rest of the year.

But thats okay cause in 7 days I'll be cruising.... woo hoo !!

:cool1:

I have the Mickey Ears for our door too! I also went to Home Depot and got the Disney paint chip samples that are in the shape of mickeys head and attached magnets to them just for a bit of extra color!

I'll be there too - so will 2 more DISers who should introduce themselves!

Hi y'all- counting down until we're on the Magic! I'm sailing with Mary and Karen

Iluvdisney and KarenNY are kidnapping me and forcing me to go on a Disney cruise and have fun because they know that I never have any fun. If you see me, please save me from them ;)

Seriously, I couldn't think of two better stateroom mates, and I'm thrilled that they asked me to join them on the cruise!

It's my first ever cruise! I'm so excited, I can't wait! The cruise ends on my birthday, so it will be fun to celebrate my birthday on the boat, and then go back to WDW to celebrate it at my favorite place Jellyrolls that night!

Hope to meet everyone!

I just have one thing to say............

Oh, my God!
I can't believe we are cruising next week. And I can't believe we were the top thread when I logged in!!! Our group is happening! I have planned and packed and repacked again in my head so many times! I won't know what to do with myself once I get home and don't have a trip to plan or DIS to read...I am just gonna have to plan another trip or at least live vicariously through other people's cruises!

Forget Happy trails...it is Happy Packing...Happy Traveling...Happy Sailing.... to you! I am gonna go print out my signs...I was hoping to use the printer at work, but couldn't...so I am hoping for the best here at home! Cross your fingers for me!

Michelle

The more the merrier....welcome aboard iluvdisney, TLinden16 and Karen NY! :goodvibes :goodvibes
It's supposed to be a lousy weather weekend here in the Northeast: snow..freezing rain...sleet..yuck! I guess that means I'll have to stay in and pack, read the boards and hum Disney songs! :woohoo:

Exactly one week from today, we will be getting onboard "The Magic" - woo - hoo!!! :yay:

We are debating with our wardrobe as well. Usually I bring enough clothes for two outfits a day - one in the daytime/one evening. But now we have another child (4 boys) and I think I'd have way too much luggage. So I think we will cut down and wear the same outfits a couple times - they do have laundry on board but doing laundry and vacation sounds like an oxymoron to me. Has anyone done laundry on board before??? Is it a pain?? Can't wait laundry and all

What ages are your boys? I have a 14 yoDS and a 10 yoDS (and a 2 yoDD). First time for us to cruise. I don't plan on doing any laundry, :laundy: but will bring our unscented laundry soap just in case.

I am hoping nobody spills at dinner because the boys will be wearing the same shirts each night--except for formal night, I'm making them wear a button-down collar shirt and tie, and a couple of nights I know they want to spend with the kids' programs. Oh--and pirate night, of course. :pirate:

See you soon!

Ok, another dumb question or two or three:

Are shorts ok at breakfast and lunch? Are breakfast and lunch in the dining rooms or at buffets around the ship? Are they ok for the kids to wear but not adults? ( I know the kids need to be dressed in pants/skirts at supper)

Is Splenda on board, or do I need to bring my own stash?(Can't have my coffee without it)

thanks again, susan

You can eat breakfast and lunch in a number of places - sit down in Luminere restaurant, pay fee for Brunch at Palo's (only on certain days), buffet in other two restaurants, also room service! All places (except Palo's) you can wear shorts.
Regarding dinner dress, it will be all over the place - some kids will come in shorts and t-shirts (as well as adults). It is a hot popcorn:: topic on these boards. We like to dress up so our boys and my husband will be in tuxedos on the formal night but they will be the minority. I will wear a long dress. For the semi-formal, I will wear a pant suit. And then the rest of the days, we will all dress casual - no shorts but no ties/dresses.

Not sure about the Splenda - maybe someone else knows??

:cool1: So I got to work today and my boss says to me "hey, the other dispatcher called in sick for tomorrow, we need you to work tomorrow from 7am to 11pm." to which I replied

"I don't care, I'm going on a Disney Cruise in 7 days!!!!"
