I come to the Dis for all of my advice, so here's my latest situation. While it's not DisneyWorld related, I know you all are a wealth of knowlege.

BFF and I live in different states, me in PA, BFF in AL. While we take turns visiting, we have never gotten our kids together and want to take a co family vacation that will not break the bank. I'm thinking of renting a house in either outer banks, Myrtle Beach or Williamsburg VA. Anyone have any advice or experience on ways to go about renting something affordable and nice that our kids will love? We've got 8 kids combined ranging in ages from 15-5. If you have any other ideas on locations that would be great too!

We love the beaches of NC, for sure! Can't go wrong there! But the first thing I thought of when I read your title was the Gatlinburg, TN area if you're not necessarily looking for a beach trip. It's a really nice vacation area, very kid-friendly, and relatively economical. I'm not looking at a map, but it seems like it might be about 1/2 way between you.

Good luck planning a great trip!

I thought exactly the same thing as the previous poster. Gatlinburg attracts tons of folks from Alabama if the license tags are any indication. Lots of cabin rentals.
