Just back from 11 days in Orlando. We have been US PAP holders since 2002.

This was our first trip dining at Citiwalk, as we had the 1/2 price Lunch dining certs for Motown Cafe, The Kitchen, and Pastamore.

Motown Cafe
We were early for lunch, around 11:15. We were seated right away. Dh and I ordered the steak sandwich and fries and we ordered from the kids menu for Ds's. The kids meals are expensive @ $6.50 each and do not include drinks. Drinks were $2.50 for kids and Adults.

For as few diners that were seated, service was extremely slow. After a large group of teens were seated, service was even slower. I would hate to be here at rush hour.

My Ds 7 ordered the Mac n Cheese and when it came out I was disappointed in the small serving size. It was served in a small condiment cup (Im not exaggerating) that was no more than 4-6 oz. The rest of the plate was covered in fries. I sent it back and ordered another cburger which was normal size. $6.50 was way too much and our server agreed. Since when is mac n cheese such a commodity?

Yes we used the 1/2 price certs, but when tax and tip was included we still shelled out $45 on lunch. I did not think MC was worth it, especially with the slow service so we will most likely not return.

The Kitchen

Same experience with slow service and expensive soda's. This place was almost empty too. The Hard Rock is harder to get into than Fort Knox! The parking is paid but the Kitchen will validate w/purchase. The only place to enter is through the lobby and from the parking area that is to the right and up the stairs. If you go any other direction, you will need a room key.

Again expensive food, but much better than MC. The boys enjoyed their pizza and it was pretty good. Our total came to $65 with tax and tip. Dh ordered the chicken sandwich but it was grilled in some sweet sauce that he didnt like. I had the steak sandwich, so we switched. I did not care for the chicken either.
Again, we did not think it was worth it.

After being disappointed we didnt even use the Pastamore certificate. Although I must say we did go by and it reminded me of Sbarro's in the mall. The indoor seating does not open until 4pm and the outdoor tables w umbrellas were busy and birds were swooping down. This was the day we decided to eat at Motown instead.

After several experiences with Cafe's at home and on vacations, Im beginning to think that Cafe is another way of saying expensive food with lots of fries.

I would have to agree with you 100%!

motown- food just okay- not great service
the kitchen - pricey $$$$

i wouldn't go back to either

but i really did enjoy pastamore

hope you had a great trip:wave2:

Cafe = Expensive food with lots of fries :p I had to LOL at that one! It does seem true at least of Citywalk restaurants. We have eaten at Motown twice and our food was really good but I will agree about the service being extremely slow. The Hard Rock Cafe where we have eaten 3 times has (IMHO) expensive mediocre food (lots of fries). I think all the kids meals are overpriced at Citywalk restaurants. It's the same stuff that costs $2.95 everywhere else instead of the $5.99-7.99 Citywalk prices. They know how to get you, huh?

LOL!!!!! Thanks for the great review! I could not have had a more different experience than you. I love Motown. The food is okay, but we love the atmosphere and always get great service!
