1/2 dining plan - 1/2 free dining while on vacation

What if I arrive before free dining and while already on vacation free dining kicks in. Do I have to set up a whole new reservations with park tickets and dining or can I continue with my current reservations with the remaining days not getting charged for the meal plan?

I did that one year and yes you will need two reservations just ask that they note that they are linked. You will have one room only if that is what you chose or dining plan reservation for before free dining and then one package with the free dining and tix. You will have to buy two sets of tickets if you go with the package with each reservation. You could get all your days on the first package and then just get one day tix for the second package and save the ticket for a future trip without tickets and upgrade them then. Remember you won't get your tickets with the free dining till that package starts and you can't get them early.

We had that same issue come up with this upcoming vacation. We booked bounceback last year with free dining, but we had to change our dates. For 8 nights we get the free dining and the first two fall outside of the free dining dates. So we booked two ressies, had it noted on each ressie so HOPEFULLY we won't have to change rooms. They say they can't guarantee this, but I don't see why they can't.

Anyhow, our first two nights, we paid for the dining plan and got our 10 day tickets on that. The Free dining starts after that and we only have a one day base ticket to make it a package. The CM suggested that because if we did the 10 day tickets on the free dining package, those tickets wouldn't start until the second package starts.

It was complicated at first, but it's all worked out now. Hope that helps.
