Any of them can be, really. It all depends on your preferences.
My recommendations for which to designate as your half-day park...
Magic Kingdom: if you've got mostly adults who have already been to WDW and you don't need to repeat some of the classic stuff
EPCOT: if you're not into rides and want to do only World Showcase...or vice versa
MGM: if you're not concerned about Star Wars and/or Toy Story Land
AK: if you're not concerned about Pandora or rides or have a zoo that's larger than AK near your home (example: Columbus, OH)
If you're a first-timer, I wouldn't make any of them a half day park. There is too much to explore and even if you're not into, say, Pandora, it's worth going just to see the Disney Imagineering that is put into it.
Another consideration is food. If you're going to eat, I recommend making EPCOT a full-day park. The food isn't as spectacular in other parks by and large (though some restaurants like CRT in Magic Kingdom or 50s Prime Time in MGM are worth going to just for the experience, even if the food isn't the best).
Also, apologies for saying MGM instead of HS. I'm old-school and can't break the habit
