We were stopping through Orlando on our to Cape Coral Florida. Our plane was to land Thursday at 915pm. We weren't due in Cape Coral until Friday evening. Being an AP holder my wheels started turning. So what does a Disney nut do? Book one night at All Star Sports and get up and go to MK at rope drop and stay about 6 1/2 hours.
First off our plane landed at Sanford airport. Headed straight to the Alamo car rental. The guy outside said you can pick whatever you want even a mini-van. There was only 3 of us so we chose a red Chrysler 200 full size sedan. Yeah for us we only paid for a compact but they were out so that is why we got to choose what we wanted. For our 3 days the with an AP discount total was 69.32.No too bad and the car rode very nice
We then proceeded to ASSp and the drive was about 50 minutes. We did online check in but really didn't matter because there was no line. We decided to check out the mock food court and bought a snack. After our 4 dollar bag of chips and 3 dollar danish we found our room. We were in the home run section.
I am glad I was here only 1 night. The room is so small. The fridge was there but with instructions to not turn it on. We wondered around the resort and then went to bed. The room was hot and I did not sleep very well. I think I was too excited for MK the next morning.
We woke up at 715 and was out the door by 810 am. We got MK and the lot was empty. I have been to WDW alot and I have never seen a lot so empty. We parked in the second row from the TTC. We walked and then took the monorail over. Again not much of a line at bag check and we were through the turnstiles by 840 am. We watched the rope drop, something I had not done in a long time. My dtr and I teared up with the music.
At about 855 they let us in and we headed to Tomorrowland. We rode Space Mountain, TTA, Buzz where I got 999,999 and I have no idea how but I have a pic to prove it! We then went on Astro orbitor and headed to Fantasyland. We rode LM and then stopped to see Lady Tremaine and the evil step sisters, We then went on Pooh,Peter Pan and IASW. We then went to HM and then back tracked to Pinochios for lunch. We stopped to meet Peter Pan and Wendy and then headed to our FP time for Rapunzel at the new FairyTale Hall. She had Snow White with her. This was all done by 1230 pm!
We then went to BTTR and Splash. Then over to Pirates. We stopped at Sunshine Terrace for a treat and a break. We shopped a bit and then did Monsters Laugh Floor. My husband was picked as that guy. It was too funny. He wore a shirt that said " I see Orange people" referring to the Illini nation. We then made our way out before the 3pm parade hit.
I feel like this time of year is the best. It did not get hot until afternoon and the crowds were non existent until early afternoon. The park closed at 700 for MNSSHP and we saw people coming as we were leaving decked out in their costumes. It was a nice relaxing day.
On the way back from Cape Coral we had an extra hour to kill before we needed to be back at the airport and we decided to stop at DD and eat at Earl of Sandwich. It was a mad house. EOS had a long line but it moves pretty fast and the sandwiches are delicious. This time the food did not disappoint. This rest of this place is so busy and it not a pleasant shopping experience any longer. The World of Disney was mobbed. They did have plenty of VB bags left. I did not get one but I will eventually.
All in all it was a nice get away. not long enough of course but I will be back. It was just enough of a fix to plan the next trip sooner.
