1/17/09 Magic anyone???

Seriously MJ, I feel like I'm on crack (not that I'd actually know what that felt like, I can only imagine this is how it feels) ... I have everything packed, most the suitcases are in the car, and I'm freaking READY! YAY!! The weather when we're in the park doesn't sound like it will be awesome, but I'm assuming there's no snow on the ground so I'm certainly not complaining! I wore flip flops through the snow today (a girl has to show off her pedicure), so I'm assuming our time in the parks won't be like that!

My favorite line of the day was from my son (who couldn't sleep last night because he was so excited and was very tired and cranky this morning) ... he was having a hard time getting his shoes on and frustrated because he left his snow boots at school on Friday so he just throws up his hands and says "I just wish this freaking day was OVER" I helped him with his shoes and said "son, we all wish this day was over"! I love that boy!

Anyone else ready to go?? I'm sure none of you are excited.

I have one day of work left (on Thurs.). tues afternoon I have to drive to the airport to pick up DD as she is coming back from LA (believe it or not she was at Paris Hilton's house for a party...crazy!). Wed I have to drive her three hours upstate to go back to school so that is an all day affair. I plan on packing tonight, getting pedicure and manicure and hair done tomorrow in the AM. Don't want to be rushing last minute on Thursday night....leaving at 5:30 am on Friday!!!

She goes in Upstate NY at a state school (Oneonta), but one of her best friends is Hayden Panettiere (Heroes) who grew up the next town over from us. They have been friends for a long time and she was actually staying at Hayden's house in LA but they were invited to Paris's for a party...she said it was quite an interesting night!!! She gets to mingle with many celebs and always has great stories....LOL!!! It does not phase her at all....she does get bugged when the Papparazzi bother them, though!!! She said she would not trade her life with a celeb for anything....camera in your face 24/7.

Have a great time in WDW!!!

Twas not I who was on any maiden voyage...well, maybe the Panama Canal. But not maiden maiden...maybe you remember me from the CM boards? I got my maingate today woo hoo! I'm so happy...but I digress.

It was pretty chilly one time when sailing in January...it was sunny but windy so outside on sailaway day it could get cold. I will have to remember a light jacket.

I suppose I should pack something. I'm procrastinating. I did print out my hotel reservations. I might do my online checkin here momentarily, but that would require getting the passports. It seems weird to be needing my passport but not my Clear card...not flying...for a cruise...strange. And only 7 nights...I hope I can relax! I did 14 then 11 then 15...so 7 is a little short!

So tonight streets were closed at Pennsylvania Ave so they could paint a BIG BLUE LINE for the inauguration parade. Yesterday (or was that Saturday?) they closed a bunch of streets to practice and they forgot to tell anybody. I'm SO glad we won't be here. It will be too crazy!

Funny thing is I know the south shore towns in order from my previous daily back and forth travel to NYC and home via LIRR

The conductor always said "This is the Eastbound train to Babylon stopping at
Jamacia,Rockville Center, Bladwin,Freeport, Merrick, Bellmore, Wantagh, (your town), Massapequa, Massapequa Park, Amityville, Copaigue, Lindenhurst and Babylon."

Any kids with you on your trip?

My 8yo Daughter would find it funny that she went to Florida for a cruise and met another child that lived a few towns away from us.

If you are planning on doing online checkin for the cruise do it soon....you can only do up to 3 days before cruise. After that you can't access your ressie online. Drag out the passports and check in online...you have to take them out eventually anyway!!!

Good luck over the next few days dodging traffic and tourists!!!

Yep 2 kids, twins. 7 year old son and 7 year old daughter.

We are all checked in. And we were on the westbound repo...you know, where people (not us) slept all over deck 3 for pins? Crazy people... I guess I will do some packing today. I am almost done at the office...I have meetings out and about tomorrow and I'm teleworking on Thursday and off Friday. YAY!

rcostello - I love your dogs. Is the first one a puggle? We have a puggle and we love her even though she is a little devil dog. My DH keeps yelling at her "It's a good thing you're cute!"

We leave Thursday after work. And it can't here soon enough. My brain is not on the office at all!! Never a good thing.

And MJ - that's cool about your DD being being friends with Hayden Pantierre (sorry if I spelled that wrong). I think its great that someone so young has such convictions when it comes to saving wildlife.

And I've been to Oneonta before. My friend just bought 60 acres up there. She has friends that have a Border Collie rescue farm up there. We went up there to adopt 2 dogs. It's a beautiful area but extremely cold in the winter!!!

Can't wait to get on the ship!!!!!!!!!

The first one in the pic is a pug-chihuahua mix. He is like a mini pug forever and ever. He is very pug-like, just mini-me sized! He weighs less than 10lb.

Good ole Oneonta....our other DD Keri also went to college there so for the last 7 years we have been dealing with the cold and snow up there....bitter. I was just saying to Allie tonight if it is going to be 14 degrees here over the next couple of days...what the heck will it be up there when we go tomorrow!!! What a wonderful thing rescue dog operations are...good luck to them! Have you been to Cooperstown....Baseball Hall of Fame?....that is only 20 minutes from Oneonta.

Off to a movie tonight with my mom.....

Always love comparing notes.....I have a best friend in Northern Virginia and another one from Long Island....I grew up in NYC and my cousins are in Northvale, NJ......plus I have various relatives in NC.....and we currently live outside Philadelphia (Go Eagles! we'll definitely be in the sports bar if they're showing the game on Sunday...husband likely to be wearing an Eagles jersey with the number 78 on it and his last name, Schwartz -- a timely Christmas prezzie!), and I've also lived in Orlando and London.

It is a small, small world.....I live literally 2 miles from Northvale....my DD lived in London for a few months...loved it. I would go back in a heartbeat!!!

I don't think there is any meet scheduled yet but I hope if someone recognizes me from here they will stop and say hello!!! and vice versa!!
