1/14/07 Wonder Anyone?

That is nice, Peter. And yes we do need to hear more about nice things people do instead of just the bad stuff the press likes to tell us.

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving! We are only about a month and a half out now and starting to get overwhelmed with everything that needs to be done between now and then. At least shopping is just about done!

Do any of you do Sunshine Rewards? I learned about it on the Rewards board in the "Just for Fun" section here. But here's the deal... Disney Shopping is paying 8% cash back through Sunshine Rewards until the end of November. You can order Disney gift cards that you can use to pay your shipboard account - so for $500 in gift cards you would earn $40 + the $2 bonus for signing up with Sunshine! I'm actually going to use the $$ on my Rewards card to order gift cards and cash in on the savings!!

You don't have to have a referral, but if you do want to sign up PM me for my referral link and we can both earn a bonus.

So... Shelly, are you saying that you are going to buy gift cards to use as your spending money for the cruise b/c you'll get the 8% + $2 in addition? If so, I guess that makes sense if you plan to spend $500 on the cruise. Besides tips and pictures, I don't know what all extra we'll be spending considering my parents are giving Taylor lots of spending cash for the trip. Thanks mom and dad!! :teeth:

Is everyone about done with Christmas shopping? I have a few more things to buy but not much.

I'm now trying to decide if I want to spend an additional $200 to stay Fri night at AKL so we're not rushed on Saturday and maybe move our character breakfast to Sat morning so we're not rushed on Sunday. :confused3 I dunno what to do!

Exactly! I figure $100 for pics, $150 for tips, $40 for Palo, drinks, wine, souvenirs, etc. We probably won't spend $500 aboard but by the time we stay a few days at WDW and have meals, etc. there, too we will surely use that and more.

Lucky Taylor to have grandparents to spoil her with spending money!!!

What *I* think you should do is stay Fri night at AKL, have your character breakfast on Saturday, and have breakfast with US at Kona on Sunday before going to the ship so the girls could get acquainted!

Seriously I think that 2 nights before the cruise would be nicer than just one. :teeth:

Christmas at Arlington and one big, American thank-you is certainly due to Merrill Worcester and the Worcester Wreath Co. of Harrington, Maine. To do something like this year after year is above and beyond the call of duty. Here's a salute to you, Merrill, and I hope you get many more.

I had never heard of this. I have only visited in the summer months. I wonder why the press hasn't enlightened the public about it?

Rest easy, sleep well my brothers.

Know the line has held, your job is done.

Rest easy, sleep well.

Others have taken up where you fell, the line has held.

Peace, peace, and farewell...

Readers may be interested to know that these wreaths -- some 5,000 -- are donated by the Worcester Wreath Co. of Harrington, Maine. The owner, Merrill Worcester, not only provides the wreaths, but covers the trucking expense as well. He's done this since 1992. A wonderful guy. Also, most years, groups of Maine school kids combine an educational trip to DC with this event to help out. Making this even more remarkable is the fact that Harrington is in one the poorest parts of the state.

You hear too much about the bad things people do. Everyone should hear about this!

How awesome is that? Thanks for sharing, Peter - that makes my holiday! :)

I think breakfast at Kona would be a perfect idea! Oh... where is Kona? LoL

I am seriously thinking I will make a ressie to stay at AKL on Fri night. I just don't want to wear us all out and be rushed trying to do everything we want to do between Sat afternoon and Sun morning.

Let me know what time you make ressies for so I can do the same :thumbsup2

Glad you got all your shopping done... I still have those few last things to get. MIL got the TMX Elmo for Tucker so no more searching the internet for one of those! Yay... now on to pay off the PS3 I got for DH at an outrageous price

Hey ya'll. Just wanted to wish everyone a great weekend. You've all been so quiet lately! I have booked my additional night for AKL so Shelly I'm waiting to hear back about your breakfast ressies!

Well we are off to Asheville this weekend to stay in our favorite cabin and visit the Biltmore. I love seeing it all decorated for Christmas! Not to mention the great wine tasting and gift shops to do last minute Christmas shopping!

Enjoy your weekend and I'll be back on Monday!

no reply to that !!! :badpc:

well have a great day !!!! :wizard:

Xmas lights are up, we may even catch a dusting of snow in the AM on Monday!!!! If it is not enough to plow I dont want to see it !!!! $

Had some time, so I stopped down at the nieghbors yard!!
with the big blower... Knowing that the last curb side pick up for leaves was happening over the weekend! And knowing that she was out of town on business yet again !!!! She has been real busy with new start up company!(internet security)
But she offered to let us have FF miles for one to fly to Eurpoe, for our Med trip the first 11 night cruise!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

So when she arrived home on the red eye (late & Dark) & tired went to sleep..
In the morning knowing she had to get this done, woke to find all her leaves in one pile on the street... :teeth:
She said tears came to her eye's as she stood dumbfounded looking at the nice neat pile!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :wizard: :sunny:
We got a lovely message from Jo, thanking Me for the random act of kindness!! saw her yesterday as we drove past each other ...
did not stop I was late for something else!!!
But it was just so neat See this Woman so I happy over a pile of leaves

It did not take long!!! and the wind was blowing in the right direction
so even if she did not get to the bagging part most of them may blow down the main road!! :teeth: Or get plowed away with the guy driving the snow plow!! :teeth:

Peter

Ps we leave for THE WORLD ON THURSDAY!!!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

That's awesome, Peter. Free airfare to Europe for you, and her so excited that you blew her leaves!?!

DH has been blowing neighbors' SNOW. We had a huge ice storm followed by a bunch of snow and more rain which promptly turned to ice so we have a mess here. Florida and the cruise is sounding better every day!

Still didn't make a ressie at Kona yet (actually we might have one at 8:30 which I need to change to 8:00) and I will call tomorrow morning and let you all know.

Went to a birthday party for a boy on DS' football team at an ice skating rink. Most of the boys had never skated before but everyone had a good time and no one got hurt. Got the Christmas tree up yesterday and cleaned carpets in the living/dining rooms so now we can have company!

Have a great evening all -- back to work tomorrow!

Alrighty... if anyone wants to meet up - we are having breakfast the morning of embarkation at Kona Cafe at the Poly at 8 a.m. Bella's are going to join us. Maybe we can have a mini DIS meet. Oh and I hear they have a wonderful pressed pot there!!

How was everyone's weekend? Mine was okay... as I said before, I'm looking so forward to this cruise that nothing else can make me super excited!

On a side note, this was our second trip to the mountains. The first time we went was two years ago with just me and Jason and we had a BLAST.

This time it was us, plus his cousin and his wife, then my sister tagged along. She wanted to go and since her husband is in Iraq, I thought... why not. BIG MISTAKE :lmao:

We left on Friday, just us girls, and the guys joined us that night after they got off work. It was a 5 hour trip so we were able to get there, get all the grocery shopping done and get chili cooked before the guys arrived. We had drinks and played some cards, got in the hot tub but for some reason it wouldn't get hot and went to bed around 12. Great...

Saturday, we got up and headed to the Biltmore around 11. It was an hour drive to get there and the other couple with us needed to stop at Walmart to get the Fisher Price digital camera that is sold out everywhere around here and going for nearly $100 on Ebay. So their Walmart had a whole stocked shelf! Good... now on to Biltmore. We got there around 1:00 only to find there were 5,000 people waiting in front of us to get into the house and there was at least a 3 hr wait. So we headed for the winery... Only had to wait about 45 minutes to get through there. The tour there is only about 15 minutes then off to the "Tasting Room" Ended up catching a bit of a buzz after all the wine tasting! We headed to the house tour and were able to get in around 4:15 by upgrading to the behind the scenes tour. It was neat and we didn't do it last time so it was something new. After the long drive home that night, we grilled out steaks and made it another early night!

Sunday we just relaxed and visited the shops downtown in the SMALL town of Bryson City that we stayed in. I was bummed since the Great Smokey Mountain Railway gourmet dinner train was all sold out for all three nights we were there. Oh well... maybe next time!

Note to self, we will not be going on vacation again with my sister. I'll spare you all the dramatic happenings throughout the weekend with her :rotfl2: I'll just say that Jason and I had a much better time with just the two of us last time. You live and you learn but it makes me sad as my sister had planned to have me rebook for her and her family while we were on our cruise. Oh well... :confused3

By the way, we are looking to rebook for Feb 2, 2008! I thought long and hard and I think the weather in the Caribbean that time of year will be mild as I don't want to deal with an 8 y/o and 1 y/o in Sept or Oct in the DEAD HEAT of summer!

Alright I'm done rambling if you read this far... now just imagine how long my trip report will be after the cruise!! :lmao:

Peter... glad all the kids will be able to go on the cruise! You're such a nice thoughtful man. If only I could get my neighbor to come over and pile up all my leaves... yeah right! :rotfl2:

Shelly... yes this is just one Christmas card design I made. I haven't gotten around to printing any yet and I feel like I'm running out of time!

We plan to get our Christmas tree this Thursday since I work tonight and tomorrow night. I'll decorate it on Friday night I guess. This month is flying by SO FAST! I feel so behind already. We went out last night with plans to get the tree but ended up only getting a new tree stand as I was too exhausted to do anything else.

Hope everyone has a great rest of the week!! :Pinkbounc
