Hi! My mom (Patty1859) and I will be on this cruise! As this is our first real cruise of any kind, I'm hoping that this thread starts to pick up a little so that we can meet some new friends and learn some great tips before we board! I'm so excited to finally try cruising, and can't wait until January!

Just checking in to say hello! We are still around, but the Dis is blocked at my work. I don't get much surfing time at home, so I will check in from time to time. My DS keeps saying he is ready for a "cwoose".

I know what you mean-- I was starting to think I'd picked a really week to go! (Although, I guess if it meant we had the boat to ourselves, it really couldn't be that bad, right? ) Have you done the western Caribbean cruise before?

no, I've done the eastern once with Disney and 2 other times with Norwegian and Royal Caribbean so I am really excited about trying the Western....I was showing my 6 year old the video they send and he was kinda remembering the ship, he was only 4 last time so it will be new again to him....I think all the cruises are getting mixed up in his little head....he's 6 and this is his 4th cruise...he loves it!!!!

hi everyone just booked our cruise today. Will be celebrating my 60 birthday. dh, dd, dsil & dgd who is 6 will be also going. Everyone is so excited to be going but a fairly long time to wait. This is the first cruise for our granddaughter & her family & she is so looking forward to meeting new friends. Dh & I did the western before & LOVED it. I am sure we will all have a great time. Hope to meet some of you traveling @ the same time . Happy planning.

Hi everyone! We *may* be joining you all on this cruise! Interesting to see quite a few IL people!

We actually won 225 DVC pts for the next 3 years (we are not currently DVC members) and it seems we can use them for a cruise, too. We are still awaiting our final guidelines. If we do get to book, this is the cruise we decided on! Navigator's Verandah, here we come!!! It will be just DBf (24) and myself (25) and our 1st Disney Cruise.

I will keep you all updated and hope the thread picks up as the date approaches!!

Edit: I just talked to the person who coordinates everything and sadly we can't do the 7 Night as I was hoping. We have to downgrade to the 4 Night cruise in Jan. Well, a free cruise is a free cruise!!

Hi!
I belong to Starseeker1221...we cannot wait for this cruise! I will be celebrating my 50th birthday and we will be having some dedicated mother/daughter time! We are taking a weekend cruise to Boston in a few weeks...it is our 'test cruise' to be sure we are sea worthy...fingers crossed!

Hi! We are going on this cruise as well there are 9 of us! I have never cruised in January and some things I read get me nervous! This will be my mil first cruise and she is so worried about getting sick! It will be my DH,DD9,Ds6 my mom 66 my nieces 16&19 and my FIlaw and Milaw! We are so excited first Disney Cruise!

I guess because I am the "planner" of the trip I have read that January can be pretty rough seas! I have been to the western Carribean before so I know that is nice! I have5 first time cruisers with me and I have never cruised in Jan. Before!

Hi all, we have had to change our cruise. my DS 17 plays BBall, so Jan is not a good time. We moved to Easter break- time to tighten my belt and save extra money!!! You guys have fun.

Don't worry. We've been on 8 January cruises and it's never been that bad. Now September/October cruises are another story! LOL If you get seasick, take Bonine...no sleepiness and my kids took it from ages 9 on. We all get car sick, and have never once gotten sick on ship...and we've been on 24 foot waves!!

I actually love it when the ship is rocking at night...I sleep more peacefully than I ever do at home!!
