1,000+ photos- Update-Pg. 12-my TR is over!

QUOTE=RockinDisney;35560103]So much so that now I can't decide Epcot ot MK for my one day at Disney? But it did inspire me to make a PTR for my one Day Trip so :goodvibes
And thank you[/QUOTE]

I just visited your PTR & put in my vote for EPCOT. :thumbsup2

Your pics were just what I needed to start my day! Can't wait to hear about California Grill!

I’m really happy you like the pics! California Grill was SOOOOO good!

It is so good that your brother has you to talk too. It is hard enough when a relationship ends, but to find out the other person has been playing around with your heart takes it to another level.
The pictures are, as usual, amazing. I can't wait to see more :thumbsup2. I hate that your report is almost over. You will have to start the PTR for your next trip as soon and you end this one.

Thanks!!! My brother is SUCH a good guy- I hate to see girls messing with him like that. I am TOTALLY starting a PTR as soon as this ends!!! I will have a mini-TR from New York City in April & maybe a few short trips to NH or Vegas in July.

Just an "aside"….I work an hour away from where I live. I live in Central Massachusetts at a fairly high elevation (about 1,000ft). I work in a small town in Eastern Mass, which is at a much lower elevation (between 200-400ft). This was at my house this morning:

The first highway I drive on was horrendous. The on-ramp to the second highway was a little slushy, then the second highway was just wet. I could NOT believe how quickly the transition from snow to rain was! Thank goodness I brought shoes to work so I don’t look like a doofus in winter boots when there is NO snow here whatsoever!!! I’m wondering what tomorrow will bring since I am working a 12 hour day.

I thought I would share some silly pet photos with you guys. The first 2 are of our neighbor’s dog, Brady- he is very sweet & friendly. Isis & Gracie (my mom’s dog) get along famously with him.

brady.jpg

IMG_3330.jpg

The next photo is of another neighborhood dog named Evie. She is a very sweet, timid dog, but Isis HATES her. I have to keep Isis in the house when Evie is out. The only reason I think Isis could possibly hate her for is that she looks like the dog that bit Isis years ago.

evie.jpg

This is my almost 21 year old, senile cat. He seems happy enough- he still eats a ton & goes to the bathroom where he is supposed to…he just makes A TON of noise! He has his own chair with a little heating pad- I think it is just his because he sheds SO much that no one else wants to sit there!! He looks so pathetic- poor old man!

mrbinks.jpg

The next 2 are of my Mom’s 115 pound Lab, Gracie. She is 7 years old & very sweet. She is like a big garbage disposal, though. Plus- one swipe of her tail & everything that was on the coffee table will be on the floor. You will notice Binky, the old cat, is in mid-meow in the first photo.

IMG_3304.jpg

The last three photos are of my Isis. She is 10 & from Tok, Alaska. I had a canine DNA test done for Isis & it told me that her primary breed is “unidentifiable” and her secondary breed is American Staffordshire Terrier. I think her primary breed is Dingo…she looks like one! If you look at this website: http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/dingo.htm you will see what I mean.

Sorry for that- I will get back to the TR as soon as possible!

I'm very glad that your brother felt comfortable talking to you. Everybody needs someone to lean on and to talk to.

The sunset pictures are, as always, beautiful.

I love all of the pet pictures. Every one of them are so cute. And I think Isis looks ike a dingo too.

Thanks! That resort looked so awesome during the sunsets. I loved it. Thank goodness I have been through more than enough bad breakups to be able to offer my brother advice! Thanks about the pet photos, too!! I think I am going to finish up my report this week. I can't believe yours is on page 190!!!!!:scared1: Promise me you will never stop going to Disney OR writing TR's. :)

We drove over to California Grill- we arrived a little early, but were seated in no time. We ordered some drinks & flatbread to start. I split the triple cheese (Pecorino, Asiago, and Provolone with Sun-dried Tomato and Arugula Pesto) with my stepmom & my brother got the Roasted Long Island Duck with Cranberry Compote, Caramelized Salsify, and Petite Celery flatbread.

IMG_3174.jpg

For the first course, my brother got the House-cured Duck Confit with Arugula Salad, Serrano Ham, Vanilla Poached Pears, and Fig Spiced Balsamic:

I got the Heirloom Beet Salad with Laura Chanel Goat Cheese, Pickled Red Onion, Pumpkin Seed Vinaigrette:
IMG_3178.jpg

For an entrée, my brother got the Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Goat Cheese Polenta, Button Mushrooms, and Zinfandel Glaze:
IMG_3183.jpg

My stepmom got the Oak-fired Filet of Beef with Olive Oil Whipped Potatoes, Broccolini, and Teriyaki Barbecue- as always!!
IMG_3184.jpg

I got the Hand-made Cavatelli Pasta with Buttercup Squash, Winter Kale, Truffle Mascarpone Cream:

That was the BEST meal I have ever had! After our meal, we were going to go to MK, but we were all pretty tired & decided to call it a night. I took these on the way out:

IMG_3187.jpg

I was a little disappointed to skip MK that night, but I was dead tired. I should have pushed myself to go! Now I have to wait until OCTOBER. Ugh!

Next- Day 5- going home.

All of your pics are just wonderful. Thank goodness I'll be back there in 2 days otherwise I'd be feeling homesick!

This has been a great TR! I have enjoyed every photo and caption! As has already been said, there are never too many photos. :goodvibes

(Personally I also thank you for not dragging it out a long time, some on these reports go on for months...to each their own, but I really liked keeping up with yours! Thanks so much!):worship:

Oh and IF You Had Wings...take good care of the French Quarter! Going to be checking that place out in April! Take lots of photos and feel free to share with us!

I'm sorry to see this trip report come to an end. But I will come back again before April to get some great ideas for our trip!:thumbsup2

OMG, those dogs (and cat) are so adorable!!!

That meal looks amazing; I cannot wait to eat there!

Thank you so much!

Cali Grille looks so good!

I am going there on my September trip I can't wait!

California Grill is one of my favorite places to eat. The food is just fantastic & the view can't be beat!!

Thanks! We definitely have a zoo in our house! I haven't posted photos of my turtles at all- they are camera shy. :rotfl:

I woke up fairly early, but my stepmom & brother got ready to leave- their flight was leaving before mine. They left at about 8:30. I took as many photos in the room as I could before I left.

Did I do it??? You bet your bottom dollar, I did! I was told only Beach Club was available, but since then, my TA got me Yacht Club! I booked for October- I originally booked for the 3rd week, but I found out my cousin may go with her daughter over Columbus Day weekend, so I changed dates to October 4-11.

I loved this lamp:

This was the last photo I took- it was a figurine in the lobby:
IMG_3223.jpg

I grabbed a bagel & a coffee & sat for a while just looking around the lobby. When I walked outside, a DME bus was right there. The only seat left besides the ones in the WAY back (I would later figure out why) was the second on the right, behind a mother & daughter from Great Britain. The little girl had to be between 5 & 7 years old. She kept turning to make faces at me & her mother said (to me), “You can tell her to stop that if it bothers you”. I wanted to say “Why don’t YOU tell her to stop that, seeing as you are her MOTHER”. I just smiled & kept checking Southwest.com on my phone to see if there are delays. None yet- but I DO get a text from my stepmom that their flight has been delayed & to find them at the Fox Sports bar when I get to the airport. We stopped at several other resorts to pick up passengers. Meanwhile, the little girl in front of me kept getting up & taunting her mom. The mom was asking her to stay still & to sit down, but she kept saying “no” or “you can’t tell me what to do”. This all gets progressively worse until the girl starts saying “STOP hitting me!!” Her poor mother did NOT hit her- I could see everything going on. This little girl then pulled her arm back & full-on PUNCHED her mother right in the face!!! I could hear the contact between fist & face & it must have hurt. The mother told her to “stop” and “behave”. The girl sat still for maybe 15 seconds, then reached out & pulled out a huge clump of her mother’s hair. She did this several more times, all the while getting up & trying to get out of the seat. The mother started to cry- it had no effect on this devil-child. The bus driver asked “Are you ok?” He then told the little girl to sit down & behave. At that point we were getting closer to the airport. She said a few more nasty things to her mother along the way. I was off of that bus as quickly as possible. I felt SO bad for this mother & all I could think was- that will be a LONG flight!
Once I was in the airport, I found my stepmom & brother and sat with them at the bar for a little while. I saw a store with a bunch of pet toys & treats in it, so I stopped to get something for Isis & Gracie (Mom’s dog). It was getting semi-close to my flight time, so we went through security. On the way to the gate, I stopped at Au Bon Pain & grabbed a salad. Our flights were all flying from the same area, so they sat with me until my flight boarded. I got the same seat I had on the way down. This flight was much smoother. John was late picking me up because of traffic in Providence, but we had to stop by his work on the way home for him to clean a bit. I finally got home at about 6pm. I was wiped out & fell asleep early because I had work the next morning.

Up next- final thoughts.

:love:Love the Pics of the room!!! and of everything else!! Can't wait to here your final thoughts! And I decided on MK for my one day..there is another Disser from the Solo boards that is going to be there so we are going to hit MK...I am going to miss EPCOT espically after all your great pics of World Showcase but on the up side I am going to have Dole whip!!!!

April,

I know that you just hated knowing that this was your last chance to take pictures. I hate that last day of a trip.

I don't blame you one little bit for booking a bounceback. We have had a bounceback offer in our room twice but there weren't any dates that we could actually use.

Ummm, the little girl on the bus would have one blistered behind if she were my child. I can't believe that her mother wasn't doing anything to reprimand her other than a few "stop that" or "don't". Had she been mine, all I would have to do is give her my "evil eye" and she would have stopped. Wait, I take that back. If she were my child, she would have known better than to act that way in the first place.

Great pictures.:thumbsup2 The snow pictures are so pretty. I love all of the animals. All very cute. Your cat reminds me of our "old man" cat. Unfortunately he died last November. He was 16. He was a good boy. We have another cat that is 15 1/2. She is not showing any signs of slowing down. Eats alot and goes where she should. :)
The food looked delicious. I am hoping to eat there some day. Probably when the kids are grown. :)
The last day is always so sad for me too. I am sad to see your trip report ending. :sad2:

I loved your TR and your pics (especially of the Yacht Club and the view from your room!). I can't believe that mother didn't do more to that little girl than what she did! The girl totally controlled her and I find that so sad for the mother. I pity the people who had to fly on the same plane as her.

I wouldn't doubt that your kids would never behave that way. I NEVER would have had the audacity to behave that way with my mom.
You know me too well...I knew on the last day that it was my last chance for photos so I took a zillion!

Thanks! I'm sorry about your cat. We lost that cat's brother last year & another cat in November. The older one was 19 & the second had a stroke. The one in the photo is 20 now. I'm not sure he will make 21 because he is starting to act a little wacko.

I loved your TR and your pics (especially of the Yacht Club and the view from your room!). I can't believe that mother didn't do more to that little girl than what she did! Thanks!!! I know- the flight must have been back to the UK- I can't imagine how awful it was!

Final thoughts: I LOVED Yacht Club! I got completely spoiled. The ONE complaint that I have is that the bathrooms are teeny! I really enjoyed my time alone, but I liked having people there with me, too. I think in October I will have my own room to myself and take more than one day to explore the parks alone. I also wish I had more time & that the crowds weren’t so out of control. I think I would have relaxed a little more if I knew I had more time there. All of the food was great- especially the Portobello Soup at Artist Point & the Cavatelli pasta with Truffle Marscapone Cheese. I’m SO happy that the little egg roll stand was open at AK this time. The veggie egg rolls are one of my favorite things there! I’m disappointed that I didn’t get to Space Mountain. The landing on the way in was pretty scary & the ME ride with the devil-child on the way home was bad. I missed Isis and John a lot. Other than that, it was a good time. Thanks for reading! I’m posting my mobile phone photos in case you didn’t see them on Twitter. They are in the order that I took them.

I am starting a PTR for my October trip, too- Losing 50 in time for Food, Wine, MNSSHP, Harry Potter- October 2010 at the YC PTR. My PTR will so far have mini-TR’s for my trip to the Foxwoods MGM Grand in March and NYC in April. I will also be chronicling my never-ending battle to lose 50 pounds before my trip. I will post a link as soon as I get it going. Thanks again SO much for reading!
