1:00 am arrival, Do We Wait Until Morning to Eat?

another thing I dont think you will be getting your luggage in the middle of the night.....probably wont be there until morning.....I would really try to get something at the airport when you land ......there may be someplace open that has something besides mc donalds.....just enough to settle your stomach and make you happy until breakfast time and your luggage arrives.......check the ME website to see if your luggage will be delivered ....maybe you should go and pick it up yourselves before getting on the ME....

We came in at 1am last September. We were so exhausted we didn't care about eating and I think I just ate a little bag of chips then passed out in the bed. :)

You can also pack some of those self-heating cans of soup in your luggage to eat once you get there. Or you can send some of those (and other food) ahead of time so that it will be waiting for you at check-in.

Eat before you leave the Orlando airport. McCoy's at the Hyatt is open for late-night dining until about 12:30 or 1 a.m.

Oh, I also have to mention that we also flew in on a Friday night and NOTHING was open. We searched around a large part of the airport and everything was closed. I would not count on anything being open at the airport.

Maybe bring some granola bars or pre-packaged popcorn or something like that. Just make sure you get enough food before your flight so that you aren't famished. Probably at 1 AM you'll be too tired to eat much anyway. Good luck!

If you say you are coming from NH, on a non-stop flight, I'm going to assume that your flight is only 2-3 hours long. If you are arriving at 1am, I'm assuming that your flight leaves around 7-8pm or later. Couldnt you just eat a large dinner before you leave? Doesn't dinner normally fill you up or do you need to eat every few hours for a medical condition or something? I think you will be fine with just a few snacks unless there is some other reason that you need to find a full meal at that hour.. Besides Ramen noodles, dont forget you could pack Easy Macs, Easy Hambuger Helpers or something like that.

I would NOT plan on anything being open when you get to your hotel.

We have come into MCO late at night multiple times and there wasn't anything open in the airport. When we got on the ME bus we sat there for at least 30 minutes - they want the bus to fill up before they leave.

Last August we were going to WL and had a 3 hour flight delay from mechanical failure. They stuck us on an ME bus that usually doesn't cover WL, but the driver took us "as a favor". We went to POR, POFQ, SSR, and I think one other resort before we got to WL. It was about 1 AM by the time we got to the front desk, and it was DESERTED. At that point you are better off just going to bed and going down at 6:30 AM for breakfast.

We have also gotten into AKL after midnight and there was nothing open as far as food.

Best to toss some munchies in your bag and plan to eat the next morning. :thumbsup2

Hmm... until the OP responds, I'm going to guess they live pretty far up in New Hampshire and are flying out of, I was going to say Portsmouth but then they'd be landing in Sanford... Portland, maybe? Concord? So their time calculation includes driving time to the airport, arriving the advised length of time in advance, flying to Orlando, and then finally DME-transit time.

I know Dallas-FtWorth airport closes up tighter than a drum at 9PM. And it's a pretty big airport. I also know that O'Hare (Chicago) also closes up about 10 or so. I've arrived there at 1AM and couldn't even get my luggage that arrived earlier than I did because of a few missed flights. I had to get it around 6AM.

And if the food court is closed, you probably won't have access to the microwave either.

The resort stores close before then as well.

Try to eat somewhere along the way before you get to Orlando.

We weren't planning on eating that late, my husband just wants to go to the ESPN club. We live in a small west Texas town with not alot to do, so the ESPN club is a big deal to him. This is our first trip to WDW so I think my husband is trying to cram as much stuff as possible into our trip!!

We are going with 2 children and my Mom. I don't know if we will have another chance to go. My mom has volunteered to watch the kids if we want to go.

But it may be moot now, as we might be getting an earlier flight.

Thanks for all the suggestions!!!!
