09/28/2002 Cruise

Mary ... I'm with you on the last list deadline. If you didn't get on it by now just bring a pen or pencil and you can hand write your stuff on LOL.

Dennis - Chrystina ... DIdn't think we'd hear from you so soon after Dennis landed (HeHeHe).

If we get "stormed" Disney can give us a mystery cruise. They can try out any exotic, beachy port they want as long as I don't have to cook, do dishes or laundery and the phone dosen't ring. The only thing I want is to see that beautiful turquoise water and my DIS friends! Not to mention be waited on hand and foot.

Anyone hear what movies are currently running on board? I'm up for a nice comedy and romance.....Hey wait, that the DIS Cruisears!

One more day to day-dream till I can get in the car for the drive down.

Have a MICKEY...........

Hello everyone,
This is Monday and before long everyone will be completely packed and chopping at the bits as all approach Cape Canaveral for the Magical cruise of 9-28 -----Norm and I will be leaving here at about 4:30 or so in the AM on Friday the 27th. Make sure you have my cell phone number in case you may want to call me Friday to see how the weather is ---IF by a flute we don't get to meet on Friday, it won't be cause we don't want to - don't know what Isadora's plans are --anyhow you can reach me at 321-544-3860 -------KEY WEST TIME
I thank each and all for the pleasure of "meeting" you through this board - I will have each and all with thoughts and prayers.
If you need help while here - stop at the shop and the girls, Pat and Joanne, will be more than glad to help anyway they can.
God bless each and all.
Lots of hugssssssssssssssss
always
Shirley

Hi
I am asking a big favor from all of those that are going to Key West - I just received the Key West Citizen and it is requesting that toruist refrain from giving to the panhandlers that are now out-numbering the chickens - this help enables them for the drinking and drugs used --unfortuanlty this has really escalated in Key West - Key West is trying to do something about the way panhandlers imposed themselves on all tourist.
Let them go somewhere else - I do know for a fact, Key West did go to all ends to try and resolve the solution from jobs to housing and it was to no avail.
Thank you for this favor.
Always
Shirley

PS just heard from my uncle in Key West - if things do not change with the new depression named "Lilly" ---Key West may encounter some problems by sunday ---Will keep advised

My Mom says she doesn't know if she is honored or angry that the Tropical Depression has her name (Lilly) - I told her that as long as Lilly keeps out of our way, it didn't matter! There is nothing funny about taking her on her first airplane ride and cruise through a Hurricane named Lilly! Somehow I will work that into a play someday and absolutely no one will believe me. Let's hope Lilly fizzles out before she gets too far!

By the way, speaking of Mom, her nose is fine now - little bruising, but it works great! She's down to two suitcases and a carryon. Do I hear "clotheshorse"?

My arm, hand and finger have just a little swelling and pain but I got those little buggers today when the Bug Guy came! Just made them angrier but at least I got some satisfaction out of the revenge! I still need to pack Michael up.

Guess whose son has a red, sore and swollen throat? AGGGHHH!
We will see the MD tomorrow "just in case" it's something more than a "little sinus drainage and irriatation" as his scheduling clerk diagnosed (go figure!) Comes from living in too sterile an environment and not getting all those good old fashioned kiddie germs.

Safe trip to all and see you soon!
Rae

MikeJ...VERY IMPORTANT!!! You MUST keep your documents with you!You will not be allowed into the port area,( even if you are on the shuttle with other cruisers) without ID and tickets! Last year DH dropped off me and the kids and we checked in and got on line. When DH came back from dropping off the car, he checked in at the desk and joined us on line. You hand in your tickets at check in, and are then given you KTTW card. I seem to remember this is scanned when you board the ship.

Patty, I have heard that ERD has been having some internet problems. I did see from a cozumel message board that all is well in Cozumel. Just a rain storm, no damage other then some limbs down and trash cans found down the street!I have not sent them a deposit. I was told it was not needed. I did make a copy of the e-mail in which I was told that (just in case)

I also heard from Ruth at Capt. Marvins. She said

Mary,
Yes, we got soaked but there was no major damage here. School was out Thursday and Friday, and most businesses were closed, but now we are drying out and everything is back to normal

I hope Lili "behaves" herself and stays out of our path, but if we have to change ports then so be it. I just hope we are able to see Castaway Cay because DS is planning on going on the fishing trip there and I would hate it for him if he misses that. This is the 3rd attempt to book the "bottom fishing" trip there, and I finally got it. I would hate for him to miss it.
I also hope we do not miss out on the Key West party. Shirley has really gone out of her way to have a nice get together for us, I just hope it is not rained out.

Shirley, thanks for the info on the panhandlers. It is sad to see people in that state, but I much prefer to give to organized charities. New York had to really crack down the same way. Panhadelers there can get pretty aggessive!

Another day of work finished! 2 more to go!

Hi Everyone,

Well I see that everyone had a busy weekend. I wasn't on over the weekend so I had to catch up on, about 5 pages. Our youngest was in for the weekend, so he took up all the spare time that I have to get on the internet.

It's hard to believe that it's almost time to "CRUISE". We will be leaving here on Friday morning flying to Orlando. We will be seeing some old friends (that live in Orlando) and having dinner with them on Friday night.

Hope everyone has a safe trip and we will see you on Saturday at the Sail-Away Party:bounce: :bounce:

Gang we have to start a positive outlook with the weather Isadore is a memory Lilly just a threat for now lets all think positive and move that little girl to the east of us. I really want to do the cruise thats planned and if not who cares just get me on the ship and out of port. I don't really care where to, just want some sun and fun and lot's of fun. Barbara is now on antibiotics and vitamin C hope it breaks up before saturday. Rae that was me cooking, Barbara is a great cook but she learned from me. I am praying that everyone cruisers and family get well. Lets keep those prayers going and keep us away from any nasty weather. 555555555555555555555555555555555555555 days to go. See YA soon! :bounce: :Pinkbounc      :earsgirl: :earsboy: :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Hope that everyone is doing well. Rae glad that your mom is on the mend.

I feel like such a dumbo. I was giving Katie a bath this am after babysitting her last night. I went to lower her into the tub and she wiggled a little. To make a long story short I pulled a muscle in my back again:mad: Man is it sore. Oh well still have some tylox left from last time. Just need to get packed and get out of here.

I am like Cathy, I don't care where we go as long as we make key west, I would hate to miss Shirley's key lime pies
:bounce: Just let someone else cook, clean and pick up the bathroom:p

Have to run as Katie's mom and dad are here. Mike

George,

Can I place an order for something?! I am still rather hungry! I sort of like pierogi's and kielbasa!! Must be a ROOTS thing!

I think it's great that you can cook. My Dad could cook like a champ - I miss his baked beans! When I was still active duty USAF, I would handcarry them (frozen) in my carryon baggage to have later on. No matter how Mom and I try to copy his recipe, it's just not the same. Hope your family feels that way about your cooking also.

I made sure my oldest son, Christopher, can cook, wash clothes, iron clothes and all that stuff so he can be independent. Plus I never want to hear "Well, why didn't you teach him that?!" from anyone. Michael is runs the vacuum and dusts already. I am going to start hiring him out if he keeps this up.

Found out that the Tropical Depression is not named after my Mom (Lilly) it's spelt "Lili" so I can't keep teasing her (YEAH, just watch me!)

Rae

Rosemary and Patty, Thanks for all your best wishes. Right back at ya!:) Can't wait till 10/03:bounce:
Hurricane Stuff: I couldn't care less. I Trust Disney will save the day. Seven days at sea, or seven days tied up to the dock at Cape Canaveral, I DO NOT CARE!!! I want to spend seven days relaxing, enjoying my hubby and kids, and being with all of you.
But I do have some sad news (sad for me) There is no way we will be able to make it to the Radisson in time for the Pool Get-together. I will send Mary (Rellintwin) all the info for the Palo's Brunch. She can give everyone thier assignments. LOL
But I hope to meet you all on the Line, I will be wearing my t-shirt!!

:p Pray for Good Weather! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Ave, Tell Mary to dye half of her hair to match yours. That way when we need to talk to you at the pool party she just has to turn her head;) Can't wait to meet you all Friday or Saturday. Come on cruise!!!!!!!!!!!! Mike

Rosemary...Thanks for the good wishes. We are looking forward to 10/11/03! Since I know we will be doing the Western again next year I wouldn'y mind a "mystery cruise" this time!LOL!

Patty, I sent an e-mail to ERD. I will let you know what I hear from them.

I am going to go to bed, so I can post 4 bouncing thingies in the morning!

I am So proud of myself, got lots done today. Still lots more to do. But Busy is good, right? {{{{Safe Trips to Everyone}}}}

     Want it to be Now! LOL

Little Later, Ave

HI all! I am so excited that the cruise is so close.

Is it the plan to wear the t-shirts onto the ship? I don't know if I want to keep them in my carry on and change. With the two kiddos in tow it will probably be easier just to where them.

The suitcases are on the couches. For me this is being way ahead of time. Got dress clothes set up for the girls and a bunch of stuff picked out for me. Tomorrow I head to the dry cleanrer to pick up two outfits. Still got to get the shirts, get a over the door shoe holder, emergency medicines, do laundry, gather, pack, gather pack etc.

Beth, yes, wear your Cruisears T-shirt! It helps everyone spot you the 1st day.

4 days to go(can you belive it?????!!!!!!!!)
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Mike ~ Comisserating with the back pain. Ran yesterday and went after all those back yard honey-do's too. Ended up at the human VET's by the afternoon to get my back checked. Can hardly move this morning - 20 minutes from bed to kitchen. This is NOT a good thing...

Hopefully, all will be well by Thursday when we head out to FLA.

Okay everybody - start thinking LEFT Lilly LEFT - Go North east!!!

Not much else to report - Life at home is GOOD!!! :p

Safe trips everyone ..........

Dennis

Finally--we're almost ready. Just have to work 8.5 hours today and 8 tomorrow.

My only worry about weather is that I want to be sure to have some Dramamine with me. I figure that if I make a special trip to pick some up--we won't need it! My own little insurance policy!

I HATE packing. It's the worry that I'll forget something important. My favorite part of getting ready is when we are at least 5 miles from home. Then, it's too late to worry.

Riker is looking forward to his vacation at his "Uncle John's" house. He has another Schnauzer to be his guide dog for 10 days. He is having some tests this morning at our vet to be sure he is ready for his cataract surgery. Keep your fingers crossed. It looks like there is chance that we'll be moving soon. So, it would be really great if he could see to get around in a new place.

I'm trying to avoid the kitchen because he can't have any breakfast until after his bloodwork. That's why I'm at the computer so early. Well, I'm off to work without breakfast (can't eat in front of the little guy).

Hope everyone has a safe trip. See you REAL soon--

Karen

This is it for Art & I today ... as of 4 PM WE'RE OFFICIALLY ON VACATION!

Last night Art did some cleaning for me (the bathrooms, I hate to do them!) while I did some laundry, etc and I chased him to bed about midnight and proceeded to do a quickie rug cleaning of hall, living & dining room. I was so nuts, I even washed the "blankies" on my dog's bed. This morming AshLee is "Hey, what happened to my bed?" Needless to say I can't move. I wish someone would have told when I was young and stupid, that getting older was like this - I might have taken better care of the old bones LOL

Tonite it's pack the car, JAG and play with AshLee. Unfortunately she has figured out something is not looking good for her ... suitcases, maps, large supply of her food ready and extra cookies on hand .... "I think my parents are leaving me again!" Am I the only one that gets a guilt trip over leaving the little furry kid behind?

:bounce: OK ... now hear this, Mike, Dennis, Rae, Barb and whoever is ailing ... double up on those meds ... HEAL - WE HAVE A BIG OLD PARTY WAITING FOR US IN FLORIDA!

Back to work ... gotta finish up on my end of the months stuff!

Check on everyone tonite before I hit the bed .....

Cathy, girl heal thy self. Back is whacko, but what else is new? Try and not to work too hard today. That goes not only for you, but everyone else. I have to go get some dog food, cat food, etc. I have set up the satellite receiver to record Jag while I am gone along with survivor and csi. Am I a tv nut or what?

Dennis, TYLOX, are you sure it was the backyard work;) ;) ;)

Hopefully Kathy can get off tonight instead of working, we need to get packed. Mike

Okay, got the list for the sitter/friend. got the dog food and cat food ready. got the upstairs semi cleaned (this is where the kids "live" OUr upstairs has four kids rooms and bathroom (A mickey/minnie one I might add) a loft and a guest bedroom /bathroom. I try and not go up there too often. since my friend will be staying there I have cleaned it (almost)/

Karen, you reminded me about the dramamine. Isn't the bonine better? Doesn't make you sleepy? I did take it last time and I think we took it the first night and that was it. But I will get some anyway.

Looking forward to seeing ya'll (I have been reading this thread too long:) ) at the Radisson. We keep talking about maybe heading over to disney if the weather is ok. Maybe picke up a few pins and ride a couple of rides when we get there. will see how tired we are.

ONly shopping I have left is to go and get "the boy" some pants. Still had no luck there. Will try Sears today. I heard they have husky stuff. Have a super day and finish packing!

four more days:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
