09/28/2002 Cruise

Elaine---What ever will work for you is ok with me (Nancy, alias Mary) in regards to dining. I believe the main seating currently has a wait list. However, depending what the final decision is about the dining times there may be people switching to late. Just keep me posted if we will still be dining together.

I think the dining time information from DCL may be like the information you get from CRO. One CM will tell you one thing and the next tells you something else. We may never know until dinner time the first night. I would think that they would change some of the activites to coordinate with the new dining times. Plus I thought the times were going to be 5:30pm and 7:45pm. I don't care what time it is as long as I don't have to cook.

Donnamd-- I hope things are safe in your neighborhood after the violent storms that went through on Sat. Since I am only an hour north of Columbia I watch the Baltimore news alot and saw that the power was still out Sat night in Howard County. Hope all is safe with you and your family.

Ave---So what color of hair do you have? If you have one color and Mary another, It will make it easy for us to know who is who. Congratulations on being Team of the Year and getting all the little perks with that award. For all the nurses in the group, I just received a letter stating that I have completed all the qualifications to be recertified for the next 5 years as a CWOCN (Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse). What a pain to put that all together to send in, took me weeks to organize everything in the format that they wanted. Now I'm ready to start fresh to get all the points I need to get recerified in 5 more years.

The quest for the light blue T-shirts has ended. After looking in all the craft stores, discount stores, and department stores and finally settling for white t-shirts from Michael's, don't I find light blue in Kohl's. They must have just gotten them in since my last visit a week ago. I have been checking Kohl's every week for this one dress to go on the clearance rack, the dress is still not at 50% off, but at least I got the shirts. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Hope the shuttle goes off on 9/28, that would be so cool.

Goofynut---How long did it take for you to get the passport? We went to get the pictures taken Sat and am going to go to courthouse to get the paperwork handed in. They told us to allow at least 4 weeks. Wanted to get them done before the price increase. If we don't get them back in time it will be ok since we have the birthcertificates (which my DHs is a whole store I will share with you some other time)

Mary--That Beanco was mean to you on another thread you responded to. That is so uncalled for.

I wish someone would turn off the oven outside.

Have a good night everyone.

Nancy

Nancy...at first I thought so too, but it is VERY difficult to interpert "tone" and I prefer to think of it as good natured "ribbing". :)
Ay first the new dinning times threw me for a loop. After all I like to plan things WAY ahead, but I've desided to not stress about it. I have my Palos reservations for dinner plans written down and will make final decision when I know dinning rotation. Like Nancy said, any night I don't have to cook, or clean up, is OK by me:Pinkbounc
Nancy...congrats on your certification. Why do the board of nurseing (in every state) seem to make things so difficult.Thankfully I have never had to deal with them, but the stories I've heard!!!!!Reminds me of the article "Why do Nurses Eat Their Young"?"
I also found my T-shirts. Pale Yellow! Mine and DH are the same shade, DD and DS are the same shade. It was as close as I could get.
My family is due to arrive in Charleston in 2 weeks. This year is my turn to host the family reunion. Which consists of 3 brothers, 4 sisters and their familys. I am going to "float" the idea for next years to be on the 10/11/03 Magic Western Car. Cruise!

Shirley from Perfect Gift just returned an e-mail. We are going to meet near Mallory Square before sunset for a drink. She can't remember the name of the place and has promised to find out and let us know!

Mary I just renewed Kathy's license over the internet at the Tennessee Health website. It was quick and painless. The only thing is if you don't have enough money in your account when you use your check card it refuses the renewal and puts your name on the failure to pay list and it is sent out with their newsletter:p

Hot as hades here today. On the way home from the hospital this afternoon outside temp display on Kathy's car read 102 degrees. Official high today so far is 97 with heat index of 105 I think.

Mike

Hello all! What a weekend what a Summer. At least we killed another week off the wait list. Rain and thunder like you couldn't believe Friday night so strong it rained sideways. Hotter than hades since, 4 transformers blew out in the neighborhood today around 12:00 and it got even hotter and more humid. Oven heck more like a reactor out there. padisney you go ahead and I will also, nice treat for all. To papa and your papa hope you are feeling better. Congratulations to TwinAve isn't it nice to be recognized and rewarded no matter what it is and I would take a free day anytime and the pin sounds nice. Ever since Johnson and Johnson bought us out our service awards are so "Corporate" like after 26 years you tend to accumulate pens, watches, luggage. If we see a shuttle it would be a dream come true we saw a night launch back in 2000 late at night Nov 30th just an orange flame but it was so cool. That is why I want to go to KSC after the cruise I just can't watch "The Right Stuff" often enough. If I had 20million to waste I would be right up there with them. Hve a great week and send a little pixie dust to Pa to end the heat please ours is used up. See Ya"ll :earsboy: :earsgirl: :sunny:

Nancy-

About the passports--they told us 4 weeks, but they were here in 2 weeks. I'm sure you'll have them back in plenty of time for the cruise.

Congrats, Ave, on your win. WAY TO GO!!

It is hot here too. Looks like it is going to storm any minute. I guess the whole country is under a heat wave. Let's hope for cooler weather soon. (But not tooooo cool)

Kimber

Well, I am glad to hear that Mike's Dad is on the mend and that Ave's team has won. Glad to hear that all is going well with all.

Has been another quiet Sunday for me but ALAS Monday will dawn soon. Another week of hectic juggling the mysterious myriad of crisis that seem to occur for no reason whatsoever!
Appears to me that some folks are addicted to the negative aspects of adrenaline. In order to serve that need, they create crisis and problems rather than leaving them for God to handle!

Countdown continues and I look more forward to it everyday.
Chrystina has sent me pictures from home so I would not get "homesick". Actually, she just wants me to see what a good job she is doing while I am galavanting in Far North again.
Nada else ~ Gotta go run in the sun and cook one of my Type "B" bachelor dinners - Definitely will NOT be dressing for dinner.

Eshannon - I gave up trying to keep it straight a LONG time ago!

HH&GB to all

Need the temps to fall into the low 40's Kimber to kill all of these pesky mosquitoes.

Two palms was down yesterday and missed the magic sailing. Mike

My husband works at NASA and he says it is not a very sure thing that the space shuttle will launch that day; it simply is the very earliest they can launch; there are repairs going on! It is awesome to see though and hope we all get to see it. Those who are staying at the Port will be able to view it if it goes off before we board the ship.

Guess Art & I are a little boring in the history end of things ... Both born in Scranton PA and mostly stayed there till married, then moved 20+ miles south to Gouldsboro PA where we have been in the same house for 25+ years. Only funny thing is that we worked at the same place for 6 months (Cathy in the office and Art in distribution)...never spoke the whole time--too shy, Art wouln't pick up his paycheck till I was out of office, I'd beat feet when he would show up with fresh cold soda in the PM. I changed jobs and on a bet/dare, he called me and we talked on the phone for 2 hours straight, we ended up going out and the rest is history!

Nancy ... got our passports in 12 days! A lot easier than I ever thought. I think Art feels more comfortable now.

Mary ... I really don't care when we eat dinner also ... no grocery shopping, no cooking, no dishes and dessert -- what could be better!

Shuttle Launch would just top things off!

Hope everyone survived the hot weekend ... showering a little her now, so nice. Thought I'd melt this weekend.

Mike - How's your Dad? How's you leg coming along?

Back to work ... check back later.
