Castaway Cay Float/Tube Rentals and Banana Boat Ride (2:00pm)


The agent I spoke to said I was her second excursion bookings that morning and the previous person booked exactly what we did. Was that anyone here???


All I have to do now is total up everything, convert to Canadian dollars, and drop dead from a heart attack.

Just called Disney - they picked up on the second ring, booked my excursions and my fax machine was ringing with my confirmation before I even hung up with the agent!

Talk about service - this sure beats the first day scramble!

We will be on the Cozumel ruins and beach tour with you!

In Key West we did the conch train/trolley tour, and in Grand Cayman we did the Land and Sea tour. Castaway - I am just enjoying it!

Called @9:10am and was on hold for a few minutes and when agent answered she at first thought it wasn't 60 days out but then remembered it was July 30th and I could book. Listened to the music from SpectorMagic, makes you feel good all over.



GrandCayman--Island Tour and Snorkeling with stingrays (G-19). Is that the same as yours MikeJ?

Cozumel--Tulum Ruins.

Key West will just explore on our own. Castaway Cay relax.

So it looks like we'll be doing the Tulum Ruins tour with Nancy and with Lauren, and the snorkeling with Nancy. (What's the G-19? Is that a DCL code of some sort?) We'll have to get Mary to update the list with everyone's excursions. I'm sure it won't take more than a day or two.

Hi Gang! No, my computer is still not able to get online (I hope the disc will be here today). I am at work and on my lunch 15 min! I have not had time to read all the posts I missed, but I wanted to share that I was able to book the Castaway Cay Fishing trip for DH and DS!

I hope to be back online soon. When I am I will update the"DIS LIST" and the Capt. Marvins list.

I must say it has been very upsetting being cut off from everyone!!

The Cozumel Ruins and Beach Tour is not Tulum, it is San Gervasio ruins and a visit to Playa Sol Adventure Park. Did you want the all day Tulum visit with a short visit to the beach or did you want the 4 hour ruin/beach visit?

I was thinking of taking the conch trolley tour in Key West--someone who posted earlier said do it early since it is very hot and they are not air conditioned, of course; then shopping; going in bars--I remember there were some great ones; having lunch at the harbor looking at the beautiful aquamarine water I mentioned before;I loved Key West when I visited before--it would be a great place to visit--just if I spent a few days there--would love to know what the beaches are like--the water is gorgeous! At Grand Cayman I thought we would enjoy getting a taxi and going to Holdiay Inn and going the beach for a while. Everyone likes the stingray visit and it is funny because I really want todo the the dolphin interaction at Cozumel, but am not interested in the stingray visit--but I probably should be interested in this since I love friendly creatures. I can swim pretty well, but have bad ears and have never learned to snorkle; would have learned to scuba dive a long time ago if my ears were not bad. Is anyone thinking of doing the same things or some of them? I read somewhere a while ago that the dolphins were not treated well at these interaction places in Mexico. Of course there are always these overzealous people that may just object because the dolphins are not in the middle of the ocean and therefore say they are not treated well.I know they do this dolphin interaction thing outside of Disney too and I thought this would be a great opportunity to play with the dolpins. My daughter will want to stay in the Oceaneer club and I think my husband would enjoy this too. I have a vivid memory of visiting the Nassau area and my friend jumping off our boat and playing with the dolphins, even riding on their backs. They are such amazing creatures. I do not want to encourage any bad behavior towards these wondeful creatures. Anyone hear anything about Mexico not treating Dolphins well? Also I read that someone died visiting the Cozumel cavarans off a Carnival ship a few months ago and there was a lot of bad press because the cruise ship did not leave behind helping staff to aid the wife that just lost her husband! That was probably a freak accident, but I will stay away from the caverans.

My mistake, I misread your post (either that, or you misread mine. ) We are doing the Tulum Ruins (the all-day affair), and not the shorter tour of San Gervasio. I gather you're doing the shorter tour?

Hi all!

I'm glad everyone got there excursions.

We are doing the SeaWorld Explorer in Grand Cayman and Dolphin Discovery in Cozumel.

Donna- I talked to a few people who have done the dolphin discovery in Cozumel and they loved it. They didn't say anything about that they thought the dolphins were being mistreated. I don't think this excursion would be as popular as it is, if that were the case. I'm sure Disney and all the other cruise lines would have had lots of negative feedback if that was the case. I'll let you know what I think after the fact. That would be awful if we spent all that money on this excursion and then couldn't enjoy it because of the way the animals are handled.

Anyway, off to my DS's T-Ball game.

We wanted to do the Dolphin excursion. When I called DCL, I asked about how much time do we actually interact with the Dolphins she stated the group has a half-an-hour and each person will get a visit from the dolphin 3 times and it lasts about 10-20 seconds each visit. Because of that, we opted not to do it.

You might want to call DCL and see if you get the same answer. It appears as though it is not the same type of excursion at the Blue Lagoon or Atlantis (sorry trying to remember the Mary Kate and Ashley place.)

Hello everyone! I am back online thanks to the modom disc I recived in the mail today.
My computer got a virus, which "consumed" first my RAM, then my hard drive. I had to wipe out my entire hard drive and re-install all the software. BUT, there was no software for the modom, so I had to wait for snail mail to deliver it!

I have always disliked August because of the heat and normally take a week or two at the shore (NJ) but with two weeks in FLA can't swing the time this year and I need a little vacation. ARRRRRRRGGGGHHH. I am so relieved the first module of my graduate course was done that I can't believe that I forgot to book my excursions today. I have the sign up and everything. I am putting it on the front of my monitor so I have to do first thing tomorrow. Oh well, we'll have fun no matter what we are able to do.
