09/28/2002 Cruise

Is she here yet? Is she here yet? I can hardly wait!!!!!! I am sure you had so much fun this morning with first baths and pictures and flowers!!!!! Give Stacey and Eric and Katie our best and a big DISBoard hug for yourselves!!!!

Shelley, I am really so sorry you had to let your dog go. We did that a year ago Feb. It was so especially hard. And actually, for the first time in over a year, I saw some Daschunds and I told Joe that I want another one. Up till now, they would still just make me sad to see them. Take your time and be sad. Don't let anyone make you feel like you can't mourn your pet.

Congratulations on 1000 Mary!!!!!!!!

Okay...just rambling till someone posts that they heard from Mke and Kathy. What a great day on the 9/28!!!!!

Shelley .... I feel so bad for your loss. Whoever says they are not family has never really experienced the joy they bring. Take some time to grieve and look back on all those good memories. When the time is right, I'm sure that you will find another pup to love and be loved.

Still waiting for PaPa ..... Wish we had his cell-phone #!

I've heard! I've heard!!!

Hope it is okay, I jump the gun. Little Katie arrived today and weighs 4 lbs. 9? ounces.

Teenson was distracting me prior to leaving during my short phone call with Mike. Sounds like everyone is fine and doing well.

I'm sure Mike and Kathy will be on as soon as they can and give us all the details!!!

Mike and Cathy, Congrats on your new grandaughter. Welcome to the world Katie! Big Congrats to Stacey and her hubby. Can't wait to see some pics.

Katie was born today at 5:18 pm cdt today by c section. Katie didn't tolerate the attempt at normal delivery too well. She weighed 4 lbs 9.5 oz and was 17 inches long. Mother and daughter are doing fine, grandparents are expected to recover. Processing the pictures and will try to have a link up tomorrow night. Good Lord will and the creek don't rise. Mike

PS Cathy I will pm you with cell phone number.

Congratulations Papa and Kathy. Glad to hear everything went well. Can't wait to see the pictures of baby Katie.

Give Kathy a big hug for us too.

Dave and Ellen.

WHIPEE!!! Congrats!!!!!!!!!! And give Stacey and Eric our best. Tell her I will go right now and cough with my pillow in her honor!!!

Katie is so small!! (So was Annabelle) We were in dire need of premies clothes and diapers, but loved her being so small b/c it meant she had such a long time to wear everything!!!!! (Come to think of it, she is still small!) :)

Congratulations all around!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the update!

Here is the link to some of the photo's I took. A few are blurry, but I will try to do better next time.Katie's Pictures

Thanks for posting the pictures. They are great and she is beautiful. Best wishes to all.

Ya know that statement of feeling an "overwhelming feeling of love"? Well, it is TRUE! Grandbabies are the grandest! She is so tiny. I want to let you know that the OTHER Grandmother held her first but that was ok. She was as excited as I was. The grandfathers had their hands full of two babbling wives.:D Wonder why, even though you work there, that the magic is always there? Ave, Mary do you still feel it?

Tuli, thanks. Mike told me he talked with you and Scott yesterday. Cathy was called but only got the ans. machine. Katie's heart beat kept slowing down after any contraction so her doctor, My HERO, decided that it was to be a section after all. :( I did not get to go into the delivery room after all. Those nurses! They used the same ploy we used and when that happened I just gave up. I was the grandma yesterday.:p

Gotta go and pick up the other grandma and get breakfast and head on to the hospital and check on my babies. Take care and thanks to everyone for the prayers and pixie dust. (I wondered what that sparkely stuff was in the room yesterday :D ) Now I know. Kathy

To the new GrandParents, Parents & Baby Katie .... We are all :bounce: ing for joy for you guys. Boy do I wish that hospitals could get video link-up for the internet so we can all see how cute she is! Hey, this is the "internet age" you know.

Now you just have to figure out how to smuggle her away and onto the Magic in September .... I know, I know, there's no way you can even think of kidnapping her BUT just thinking about it is neat.

I just realized that you guys may not be able to read this up on that cloud you're on!!!!!!!

Great news again and tell everybody we wish them well.

Check back later --- maybe for a picture?

So glad to know so many people are going to be on the 9/28 cruise! I am a veteran DCL'er traveling this time with my 7 year old son also a veteran and taking my 70+ Mom for her first cruise ever (also her first airplane trip)!
Can't wait!!

We were the Dining Room Family of the Week last cruise and every evening received wonderful treats - fruit, cheese, cookies, etc. We thought it was a joke at first, but it wasn't!!

Also, Disney is great for celebrations - we had our 20th Anniversary celebration and the Dining Room really did it up big time for us!

Also, we had the opportunity to find out firsthand what Disney will do for you if you have a stateside emergency (as we did). They are wonderful and helpful, and thankfully, things worked out.

And you can't party better than with the Disney Vacation Club - we had our first party with them and it seemed to continue on and on and on. Wow!

Rae

I hope Mike & Kathy are having a GREAT day with their mew "grandbaby" and hope all is well with Katie and Stacey (and Dad Eric Too!)

I was just looking at some of the Western trip reports --- Oh My God, you guys have to check out the ones from:

Jennifersmith23 - 5-11 Trip Website

Ahnalira's 5-11 Trip Pictoral

I am almost in tears remembering just how dreamy that ship is. How classy the service in at dinner and the food!!! Hopefully they will be adding more on the port stops and excursions. :bounce: But you guys just have to see those reports and pictures for yourself.

Mary ... have you have any new additions to the "master DIS-Cruisears" list lately. In the next week or so I will be mailing out my version of the logo for all to have and make shirts if they want to. I'm working on a way to get the logo on baseball hats and I'll let you know if I succeed. (Got this extremely tiny iron for iron-ons). My only thought is that we may want to decide on a color so we are all similar ... that is if you guys choose to do this. My idea is a nice powder blue for the georgous blue waters we will be sailing in! YOU GUYS LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK (But be kind ... he he he).

WELCOME ABOARD RAE!So glad to have another DIS'er join our fun group. I am putting a "DIS LIST together and if you will e-mail me your info (real names, ages, hometown, occupation, cabin #, and any special occation you will be celebrating on board) I will add it to my list and forward you a copy.
We are working on T-shirts for our group and I have bought everyone who "signs up" a lanyard (family members too!)
My son is 8 and will be happy to hear there will be another boy around his age sailing. Are you planning to stay near the port the night before?

@Goofynut...I have been reading the reports like crazy! I am going to Panama City Beach, Fl this Friday to visit TwinAve. DH and the kids will be doing a 2 day canoe trip so Ave and I will get to do what we like best...TALK and PLAN! I am so glad there will be "fresh" info!!!
I am going to ask the 5/11 what type T-Shirt they had...also they did some type of nametag that everyone loved. I will see if I can find out what that was about.

Kathy... I NEVER get tired of seeing the sonograms we do in the office! I have seen thousands but still feel the thrill of seeing the baby when the MOm and Dad see it for the fisrt time!It is always a wonderful feeling when you follow a difficult pregnancy through to a happy, healty ending!

Congrats on the new addition. Just took a quick peek at the pics and she is adorable. Try not to spoil her too much. Oh what am I saying. You're the grandparents, its your right.

Thanks guys for all the congratulations. I have added a few more pics to the album today. Katie is in the NICU unit. They moved her last night as she was having a little bit of trouble with keeping her temp up and low blood sugar. Have to run back to the hospital. Mike

Mike and Kathy..Thanks for the pics. Katie is just wonderful. And to answer your ? Kathy, no it NEVER gets old. The miricle of life is always breathtaking. Had a good cry today with a new mom (10 weeks) who thought she could never get pregnant. But also had a BIG cry last week with a couple who lost thier little girl at 37 weeks. With this job there is just no middle ground.

Welcome aboard Rae and family! I am also a NY transplant. My son will turn 5 a week before the cruise. DD will turn 12 on Sept 30th. Always nice to have another vet DCL along. This will be mine and my family's first cruise. But we have some excellent guides. Please tell...what is Dining Room Family of the Week? Is this something new?

Mary, Can't wait to see you. Got some relaxing plans: lounge chairs on Shell Island, radio playing, cold beer. Maybe some ice cold oysters at Billy's???:bounce: :bounce:
Any and all fellow cruisers are welcome to join us!

Good night to all!:D Ave
