Is this time change killing any one but me?

Yesterday some, today not so much. One thing that helps us, is we actually set the clocks up Saturday afternoon and go to bed at our usual time, even if we're not feeling all that sleepy.

Joanne - congrats on grabbing the pirate for post #2200!

Thanks didn't even notice. I guess my head did hit the desk....

I set my clock back Saturday night also. Didin't notice much yesterday. But we were busy all week end and I didn't get any naps either!!!!!!

Time change is getting to me a little bit, really yesterday, not so much today. I assume tomorrow will be better.

I don't seem to remember having this much of a challenge before.

Good morning everyone - happy Tuesday!

Spring might finally be starting to come to Chicagoland. We may even get into the 40's today. Who Hoo! OK it is the little things that excite me. :)

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning all,

Woke up to a foggy and rainy morning. I fell bad for these spring breakers. We went for a walk on the beach last night. It was very nice. It should warm up by the end of the week. So maybe they will ge some beach time. These are Florida kids so they can't hang with the northern kids that are out in their swim suits in 60 degrees!!!

have a great Tuesday.

The time change is really killing me too. I wish they would abolish it.

Good morning all. Been really busy here at work since we were out of the office Firday. Gotta play catch up.

Weather is not too bad here. 37 this morning and should be near 60 this afternoon. Of course, they have snow in the forcast for later this week. Ah Tennessee, if you don't like the weather, just wait 15 minutes and it will change.

I just want to give big congrats to all you moderators. I have been reading the threads on the Magic issues. Some of those folks are crazy. I can't imagine getting that upset over missing CC,yes it would be disappointing but do they not realize saftey is much more important than a day at the beach. Imagine if the ship hit the dock and they were stuck there----not a good example I guess:rolleyes1 , since we would all love to stay there a few days, but you get my drift. I hope there we not a lot of children around to see all that. I can't even imagine yelling at those sweet girls behind the desk and the captain!!!!Yikes.

Life is too short they need to enjoy what is going on around them.

Thanks for what you do and for closing that one thread.

Holland America has an place called Half Moon Cay that is similar to Castaway Cay. We were supposed to spend the day there last Saturday. There is no pier there so passengers are tendered in on boats that are based there that are larger than the lifeboats/tenders that are on the ship. When we got there the seas were so rough you cold see the spray from the waves crashing on the beach. Around 8:30 A.M. the Captain announced that the seas were too rough to tender and that we were continuing on to Ft. Lauderdale, very slowly. Later it was announced that the $15 per person docking fee would be credited to each cabins account and that everyone would get a complimentary (free) glass of champagne at dinner time. People were disappointed but I didn't hear of anyone going ballistic over it. Mother Nature will do what she will do.

We've sailed on the Magic three times and we almost had to cancel CC on the second cruise. It was so windy it took three tries to get in the Channel and dock. I talked to a Bridge Staff later that day that said if we hadn't docked on the third try it would have been canceled.

I guess we have been very lucky. In four cruises we made it in every time.

Yeah a number of threads on the main forum have been a wee bit crazy, and it becomes a difficult thing sometimes making sure the rumours don't get out of hand. But not all that bad, some of the way out there theories that end up getting tossed around are as you said just plain nuts, and pretty obvious they are just theories. Does leave me wondering if some of the more extreme ones appear from someone looking to make an argument, which is sad to get people so upset over literally in those cases nothing. But in the end, all is good, yes the Magic has a bad luck cruise, 1 engine down for a while, lousy conditions at CC, but can't imagine the entire trip was ruined by these things, wouldn't have been for me. And am still looking forward to boarding her in about 6 1/2 weeks now :)

Mark,
I was reading those threads and think you handle it very well. If we are unable to dock at CC it wouldn't ruin my trip. You cannot control everything esp the weather. That has happened to us on other lines (we were routed to Nassau instead of the private island on NCL). Peolpe just need to relax and appreicate the fact that they are on vacation. I know people that would do just about anything for what we do every year.

I am going to try to make Tie Dye cheesecake (it's available at POP). Wish me luck.

What threads do I find the issuses the Magic had?
danandnan

It's a big sloppy mess, so I'll just sum up.

First of all the weather conditions down in the caribbean have not been exactly favorable lately. Very high winds.

The Magic, on the way to St. Maarten had a failure of one of her 5 diesel engines which provide power for everything aboard including propulsion. This, combined with sailing into heavy headwinds made them late getting in. While in port the engine was repaired and they continued on. Upon arrival at Castaway Cay the winds were too severe to allow a safe docking. They made 4 attempts but just couldn't do it with the wind pushing the ship out of the rather narrow slot they have to pull in there. A small but very agitated group of people went and read the riot act at guest services and from my understanding it did get a little ugly.

Now, the engine has been repaired, and the Magic is already about halfway thru her next sailing.

Well I am a tad bit excited. I received the 2007 DVC Member Cruise beautiful dish with Walt and Mickey etched into it.

I don't know where put it but we have it :)

:goodvibes :cheer2: pirate:

Thanks Joanne - that really means a lot to all of us. We do what we do because we love Disney, love cruising and love helping people. Your words mean more than you'll ever know especially today.

Great news Bruce - may you enjoy it for many years to come and everytime you look at it will you be reminded of happy memories from your first cruise!

Good morning everyone - happy Wednesday!

How is everyone doing today? Looks like another nice day here in Chicagoland. Spring might finally be here! :flower3:

Good morning all,

Send Spring this way. It is still chilly here for March. The kids are going to try to go to the beach since today is going to be the best day all week. My house looks like a dorm room. But I love having them home. It's hard to believe but this semester will be over in 6 weeks!!

Annette how was the cheese cake? You will have to share the recipe if it comes out good.

I was bad last night- got into the girl scout cookies.

Have a great Wednesday all.

I have been loving the weather for the last few days, however I have to tell myself that this is MI and it is not uncommon to get snow in April so I am remaining optimisitic but also trying to keep reality in check.

They are predicting a storm next week but it is unclear yet if it will be snow or rain.
