Good morning Member Cruisers
We sail in 23 weeks!

Good morning everyone and a very happy Sunday to you all. It is cold here in Chicago and would you believe that four letter word SNOW is in the forecast. The good news is the forecast for mid-week is in the 70's. Crazy!

Speaking of crazy we are in our last two weeks before our cruise so things are a bit crazy on this end. Think I'll pack up one of the suitcases today (the one that will have thinks like our water shoes, masks, snorkels etc. in it. I've been fine tuning the packing list for everything else. I'm so excited to be going back on the Magic. It has been almost 2 years. I'm also excited to see our friends Karen and Mike and their kids again. This will be our 4th cruise with them and the 2nd as our tablemates.

Well off to Church shortly. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning all,

Mary - how exciting. Have fun packing. Are you flying down?

It's sunny here but cold 57---This weather has been very strange. We were going to bike ride, but cold and windy just isn't fun.

Have a great Sunday!!! I have to do our taxes- yuck.

Morning all! Here is the deep south of Georiga, we too are having the word snow creep into our forecast for this week. Freeze warning and frost have also been mentioned. I hope my Japanese cherry tree keeps its beautiful pink blooms. This weather is indeed crazy and it does make me wonder why we are having patterns like this. The biggest thing for me is the inordinate (compared to the past few years) amount of pollen. I am severely allergic (read that as stay on 5 meds year-round and was told after 15 years of shots they would not help me) so this has been a big breathing burden for me. My eyes are basically swollen all the time and running like crazy. Hmmmm - perhaps this is more evdence I need to take up permanent residence on a cruise ship or at least on the beach!

On the cruise end of things - I am looking ahead at what time I will have to prepare for certain things for the cruise Would some of you please give me more information about the spreading of pixie dust amongst our fellow Disers and the crew? Mack and I are cooking up ideas but we don't really have enough information. We want to help spread the magic. Do you all hang the - oh shoot, what are they called? - fishhooks, maybe? - the things with pockets in which people can place small gift items? Is this something we will see other groups do as well? And let's see - I know there is a group picture on CC and an organized pirate group shot on the ship, correct? To what else can we look forward?

Have a blessed Sunday everyone!

Yes we are flying down on Friday and we'll be met at the airport by our friends. They get in about 2 hours before us. Then we'll all driver over to the port together and we plan on having dinner at Grills.

Mimi - I think you mean fish externders. :) Last year we had someone organize the names for all those interested in doing the small gift exchange. They then passed in the info on to Linda (seaulater) who did a great job of putting the information in our mini-navigator. Then it seemed like everytime we left our room that was a little surprise in the extender. Some of the things I remember getting are a bottle of Buffalo wings sauce from someone who lived in Buffalo, a really cute bookmark, notebooks, candy, glow sticks. It is a lot of fun. Mark and I do our gift early since it is the buttons we do for everyone.

As for the photos - the DVC group shot is the second day on Castaway Cay. The past couple of cruises we've gotten that as one of our gifts from DVC. Linda (seaulater) made arrangements for the DIS group photo on Pirate night. I hope we do that again.

morning everyone! Off to breakfast and a pet fair.

Have fun Cheryl. Is this where you are meeting up with Jeff? If so tell him I said Hi!

Fish extenders - that's it! Fishooks :rotfl2: I have really gotten to the age when I need to write things down - all things! I didn't think this happened this early in life. Mack says it is a combinaiton of full and part-time work, moming, wifeing, grad school, and so on - I think it is just getting older. Anyway -yes, fish extenders. We are excited about those. Do we bring something for each day then? That would be fun! It sounds like you have gotten some fun things before too. This is suchy a fun way to look forward to the trip even more!

Let me ask one more thing please - I have seen small tags or envelopes people make to give a special thank you to those who provide great service. They look like a lot of fun to do too. Is that still done, or am I seeing something old and over with now?
Thanks! We are looking forward to meeting all of you face to face!

I think people still do the tags. Here is one of my tips of the days that I have up on the website (and that I've been sharing with my April cruise group).

Want a little something to say thank you or a personalized card to go with your tips. http://tagrel.com/APP/CMCards.shtml has a great selection of CM appreciation cards. One set specifically for DCL. You can personalize them with your cruise date and family name.

As for doing gifts every day I think some people who tried to do that said it got hard doing every deck every day. Especially with so much going on.

Mary, I met Jeff last night. We had a great dinner at the Captains Grille
(formerly yacht club galley) This morning we had breakfast at a vegan restaurant, the pet fair was fun we saw a rescued dog who was able to jump 9 poles.

Mimi: the best thing you can do is write a letter or mention names of great staff in the cruise survey. From what I understand the letters go into a cm's file and helps them go higher. The surveys get read and the names get mentioned at staff meetings.

Also I believe that emails count as well, but personally I write letters.

Afternoon all, The weather man was wrong here. It was a little chilly and windy but we made it to the beach for a bike ride. Then I mowed the yard. So some good exercise for me today. We have three wedding to go to between now and June, so i was hpoing to drop some lbs. It's scarey when your friends kids start getting married!!

Mary- is your airline charging for the second bag? That is so wrong. How can you go on vacation with only one bag. I sure feel for all those folks who were cancelled by American.

Happy Sunday evening. Welcome back Desperate housewives!

Happy Sunday evening. Welcome back Desperate housewives!

Well the good news is that no our airline isn't one charging for the 2nd bag. The bad news our airline is American and our flight down is on an MD80. It does sound like they are done with the inspections so hopefully we'll be ok.

The weatherman was wrong here as well. It has been nice and sunny all day and no sign of Spring snow.

Good luck with your flight Mary - sure hope you gave yourselves a buffer day to get there - enjoy your cruise!

No worries Mary we are flying down Friday morning for a Saturday cruise. Worse case we rent a car and should still make the cruise just fine. I really believe that American will have it all taken care of by then.

Okay, got it...

Gifts but not every day - thanks Mary!

Write thank you notes - thanks Cheryl! Do you send them to the cruise line or where exactly?

I am getting so excited. I went over to the Creative DISigns board - how inspriring! I need to learn to print them at a minimum but preferably make them! How fun!!!

Thanks everyone!

tikimimi, I highly recommend getting on the fish extender exchange. I was confused of what exactly it was last year, I thought we had to make/buy the fish extender and swap it with other people on the exchange. I was like no way I can do anything as nice as some people so I did not join but then once on the cruise I realized we leave goodies for other people in their fish extenders. Boy did I feel like a big dummy but I definitely will do it next time we cruise. I am sure my kids would have a blast running up and down the halls delivering goodies! Heck they love passing out snacks and drinks to the neighborhood kids who play in our yard, I have to put a stop to it because it's becoming an expensive habit.

It sounds like everyone had a good weekend, Mark and Mary I am so excited for you on your up coming cruise and being able to hang out with Ohiomini and her gang. Have a good night everyone.

Good morning everyone. Happy Monday! I've got a follow-up doctor's appointment today. I was hoping to have lost more weight by this point but it just didn't happen. Hopefully he'll be happy with where my numbers are at. I'm still a work in progress. :)

Have a great day everyone!

Very quite weekend. Yesterday I watched the 3 episodes of the Star Wars trilogy I recorded on Spike. Im a great Star War fan,and now watch StarGate SG1 every night.
Mary I see you having trouble with your weight? Nancy has been going to Weight Watchers for 3 years has lost 25+ lbs and is now Life Time. For the past Two years Mary I have been doing it but not going to the meetings or weighin's. I have lost about 20. Of coures at our age its harder to loose.
Well enoughof that. I was tell Nanc this morning im ready for a week in FLA. I wold love to go down to celebrate my 65th. Maybe I can twist her arm. Im have a bad case of Disney withdrawalls. I need a fix :rotfl: :rotfl:
Catch everybody later. Heading for my eye doctor to repair my glasses. Thank god for back up pair or couldn't see.

Good morning all.

Quiet week end here too. We sold our youngest bunk beds this weekend. So I spent a lot of time cleaning that room.... We have to get ready to bring a kid home from college with a whole room full of stuff! It was nice out finally so I did sit in the sun for a little while.

Good luck at the doctor Mary. This diet thing seems endless. I am much better off that I was a few years ago, but not to where I want to be. some times lettuce just doesn't look good!

Have a happy Monday all.
