Any ideas on the press conference that Disney is holding on the 18th? Here is what I found on another thread:


Disney - (9/11/08) Disney has sent a mystery invitation out to the media regarding a major new theme park related announcement they will be making on September 18th at noon, somewhere in New York City. As stated in the invitation, “You’re invited to join Disney Parks for a special announcement -- so big we’re bringing the news to New York.” The announcement gets a little strange here as it promotes “New, breakthrough insights about how American families travel will be shared by Peter Yesawich, Chairman & CEO, YPartnership, one of America’s leading travel trend-watchers. Following that, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Jay Rasulo will unveil exciting plans for 2009--including a first in the history of the Walt Disney Company.”

Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah Tip(s) Of The Day

As many are finalizing their packing I thought this collection of tips might help. Things you may want to bring depending on your own tastes.

Shampoo and body lotion are in your bathroom in small little packets (not bottles). You may want to bring your own favorite brand.

Both the tissue and toilet paper on board is not of the highest quality as far as softness. Again you may want to bring a favorite brand if that is important to you. If you do however I would suggest using the TP sparingly - remember that you are on a ship and it has to break down faster and better than what is used on land.

There are not a lot of outlets in the room so some people like brining an extension cord to plug things in.

If you need a hair dryer with lots of power it is suggested you bring your own as some people don't like the ones onboard.

If you like to know what time it is at night you might want to pack a small travel alarm clock. The one we bring lights up by pushing a button and gives a little extra light.

Don't forget some singles for room service and quarters if you want to do laundry.

Most of all don't forget your important documents and id's.

Last but not least - bring a sense of adventure and prepare to have an amazing time.

Great find, Mary! And it says that on Sunday DVC members will be able to purchase BLT, I guess that means us! Tim and I swore that we were not going to add on again, but this is tempting for us, especially since we got a letter last night saying we have overpaid our escrow account for taxes and insurance on the mortage by 5,550, and they are issuing us a refund...And our mortgage went down by $300!

I'm thinking there will be some major add ons on the cruise with this announcement.

I know you've already told us, but when will they be taking the group picture on CC? I didn't see this info on the first page, although the Pirate Night picture info is there.

Well I didn't have that because it is a DVC event not just a DIS event. However to make you happy Trixie I added it (check out the edit reason).

The DVC group photo will be take at 10:30 am on Wednesday the 24th (our second CC day) on the boat beach. The ship will more than likely pull in that day. If they follow what they did last year they will back in on our first day. That gives everyone with a verandah or porthole view of the family beach at least one day.

Wow, it is so exciting that people are already in WDW. We will be there on Friday. It is the first tme we are staying at AK.
