I just lost 20 lbs and am now doing what I can to get back in shape (gym, tai chi, ki gong, yoga, etc). My wife is down 15 lbs with 35 yet to go.

Monika and I are doing WW ................. I lost 58 lbs in last six months

Congrats! That's awesome! I've lost 15 pounds by eating breakfast and having a snack before bed. :confused3 I'm slowly revamping my metabolism. When I get back from Hawaii, I'm going to make an appointment with a nutritional counselor to help me figure out what exactly I should be eating.

I would HIGHLY suggest WW instead. We have done the nutritionist route many times and have seen a much better return from WW including (hopefully) a permanent life choice change. WW teaches you to be your OWN nutritionist.

Congrats on the loss! There is a LOT to be said of upping your metabolism. Heck, once I am back in shape enough to handle the workout I am going to do Body For Life again for a few months. You eat 7 times a day (small meals) to raise your metabolism. I have done it in the past as a "quick" fix but now trying to do it right (life choice - WW) first.

I was dieting this whole week until today. The president of the bank that I work for has been missing since September 19th :sad2:, and to show appreciation for the outstanding way everyone in the company has handled it, the interim CEO treated us all to pizza today. So, I pigged out on the pizza. THEN after work I drove by Taco Bell. Somehow the car just drove right into the drive through and I had no choice but to roll down the window and place an order! :rotfl2: I'll go back on my diet tomorrow.

I LOVE the quote about dieting being hard and being overweight is hard, so choose your hard. That's a really good way to look at it. I AM tired of being overweight. I'm always so uncomfortable in my clothes! :headache:

Unfortunately, I would have to see a nutritionist before even trying WW anyway. I'm diabetic, the DH is an on&off diabetic, DS has reactive hypoglycemia and both boys will almost certainly develop diabetes at some point in their lives (I'm fourth generation and DH is third generation). :headache:

Totally right! I have hypoglycemia as well, so i make sure to eat often (just correctly). It really helps with my metabolism. Regarding everything else, I have no idea!! That is totally for the nutritionist, but please ask about WW. Nutritionist make a great deal of money on repeat visits and that is what they push. They WANT/NEED the repeat business. Sorry for my narrow view :(

To give a little background, I'll be 37 in December. I met Debbie when I was 19 and 155 lbs. My heaviest has been 265 lbs. I was 30 then. I went on the Atkins diet and got down to 217 but over the next 5 years, I went back up to 252. That was in June. Since then I got down to 221 the day we left for ssmc10 and thanks to the great food I am now 230 but this is a different 230. I was diagnosed type 2 diabetic 3 yrs ago and since have cut a lot of carbs out of my lifestyle. I feel it will be much easier now to keep the weight off because of that. Since June I have a different outlook on things that require me to exert energy, I look for and embrace them. Except for housework, still. Just ask Deb. In summary, I'm motivated! I just would like some encouragement and accountabilibuddies!! Thank you for listening.

P. S. I'm jealous of Wally. When you see him and what he can put away, you'll know what I mean.

As I say to my local friends

Dude, just rock it :woohoo:

Don't have to be sorry for a narrow view ................ Just remember an open view and plenty of support :grouphug: will go a lot further in helping anyone reach their goals ....................... If one style fit everyone there would only be one book about weight loss on the shelf ...............................:cheer2::cheer2:

 I wasn't done having fun, either!!!

I'm sure my friend is having a good time. He's one of those people who, no matter where he goes, he just makes it a good time! Junior and I actually met at a party at his apartment! :thumbsup2

:lmao: I KNEW that you hadn't read any of the previous posts when you posted that....otherwise I know you would have said you were eating the fat free, sugar free, calorie free cheesecake! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Well I was thinking to try and help hold myself accountable I would start a ssmc11 weight loss group here on this thread. If any would like to join or send words of encouragement, that would be great!

I will go first...
I weigh 230 lbs
My goal is 175 lbs
Total to loose :wish55

Every weekend I will give an update. I'm probably gonna post an unflattering side view pic for a before photo tomorrow.

If you want to join, please do so. I don't want to do it by myself. :)

I lost 12 pounds before the member cruise last month and put 5 back on  (not bad I thought it'd be 10) I weigh 122 (but I am barely 5 feet tall) and my goal weight is 105. Total to lose 17 pounds!

THEN after work I drove by Taco Bell. Somehow the car just drove right into the drive through and I had no choice but to roll down the window and place an order! :rotfl2: I'll go back on my diet tomorrow.

My car tends to navigate to Wendy's all by itself and always order a number 1 with cheese, lettuce and mayo only, oddly, the voice doing the ordering sounds eerily like my own :confused3

Oh I know what you mean, he makes me sick. A few years ago we went on a RCCL cruise with my parents. On lobster night that man put away 10 lobster tails, 50 shrimp and some prime rib. We thought he was done but no, he then had a plate of fruit for dessert! We were all amazed and then he anounces he's going to go play basketball to work off what he just ate  Must be nice, he doesn't gain an ounce.

booked in stateroom 10144 :cool1:

Hi there and :welcome:

My husband lost 47 pounds on WW and kept in off. We were at BCV in Sept and did not gain this trip even with little splurges. The key was all the walking we did at WDW. We have never done a cruise so thus will be interesting. Since we have been home from our Sept trip, I have told my husband that we need to walk mire again. It is lifestyle changes for us.

junior didnt look that heavy im 220 i was 240 in the spring. I basically did gardening and stopped eating all the junk foods
