That would be great!! I see you are from NY. If DD and I ever make it up there before the SSMC11 I will have to let you know. Not sure if you are in the area though. I promised her that I would take her to the American Girl store in NY as part of her birthday last year. Between my school work, it being the week before Christmas, and the snow storms we never made it up. She is patiently waiting. Not so patient anymore but we will get there one day.

Another thing is the photo gallery on the SSMC11 website (see First page). I have not sent a picture to Milford yet but that is another way to put a face with a name and get to know everyone. That's only if you are comfortable posting a picture of your kids out there.

My DD is pretty shy when it comes to initiating a conversation. She did fine at the clubs last year but I did not leave her there for long periods of time.

My kids are really excited about 'the idea' of this cruise. They have no idea it has actually been booked. I am waiting to tell them. When they asked me the other day I told them it's not time to book it yet so I am not sure we will get a room. :lmao:

DS is just waiting to get to The Edge. I am hoping DD will be able to choose between the Lab and the Club. Although she will be 7 at the time we sail she'd be turning 8 in December. Only because the Club is 3-7 and she may prefer to do the activities the 8 year olds are doing in the Lab. We'll see.

Okay, need to go watch for DD at the bus stop soon. Early dismissal and it's such a beautiful day. :cool1:

Awesome! I am actually in the Northern Virginia area (DC Market), not NY. We were JUST up in Stockton, NJ for a wedding! Either way NY/Northern VA probably equidistant for us? We will figure it out, have a bit of time lol

Side note: put us on a list as people who have 120 booking if that helps (for the Palo idea).

Looking at member site now, have no issue sharing pic's :)

You know I did not double check where you lived. I was thinking that is where you lived but I may have gotten it mixed up with someone else. So many posts to go through that I lose track.

I was just at the Meyerwerft website and this is what it said about Disney Dream

Disney Dream leaves building dock

Disney’s first cruise ship nearing completion – Largest ever ship built by Meyer Werft

Papenburg, 1.10.2010 - On Saturday, 30 October 2010, the Disney Dream, the biggest cruise ship built by MEYER WERFT to date, will leave the yard's covered building dock. The floating-out manoeuvre is supposed to commence around 5 pm. The Disney Dream is scheduled to float out of the dock the first time. The event will include a unique celebration to mark the milestone as the ship nears completion.

Upon leaving the building dock the Disney Dream will remain in the yard harbour. On the following Sunday MEYER WERFT’s and Disney Cruise Line’s tests & trials teams will perform functional tests of various technical systems such as the stabilizers and the rudders. Afterwards the cruise ship will remain berthed alongside the yard's pier. In the following two weeks the remaining interior work will be completed, and more trials and acceptance tests will be conducted.

The Disney Dream is the first of two ships MEYER WERFT is building for Disney Cruise Line (USA). She is 340 m long, 37 m wide, and can accommodate as many as 4,000 passengers. Her powerful engines enable the Disney Dream to operate at a speed of up to 23.5 knots. Having a tonnage of 128,000 GT, she is the biggest cruise ship ever built in Germany. Measuring a length of 340 metres, she even counts among the three longest cruise ships in the world.

The ship is likely to leave MEYER WERFT and be conveyed down the river Ems on the second weekend in November. The exact date of the Ems conveyance will be published on www.meyerwerft.com approx. 1-2 weeks in advance.

!Changes to the undocking time schedule or delays due to weather conditions may occur!

Group joined and message posted (so you know who I am!). Gotta run, but see you real soon :mickeyjum

Edit: please feel free to send me invites just explaining who you are!

Be back much later, kids and movies and fun stuff. Feeling catchup from here is going to be insane! :crazy2:

Michael, Wally and GoofTroop716 - you little lurkers, you!! Nice try! :rotfl:

I wish I were just lurking. We had a power outage for 4 hours last night because someone decided to drive into a phone pole. They are okay, but they knocked out the power for our part of Buffalo. I called and got the internet back up and running this morning (something the internet company had to do on their end), and posted that about 5 minutes after I got off the phone with tech support.

I'm almost caught up on the 50+ pages I was behind on.

I check the stock market periodically throughout the day. I just looked and it's over 11,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!! Now, watch, a report on some aspect of the economy or some company's 3rd quarter loss will come out and the stocks will plumbet again! It's been lingering close to 11,000 all week, AND mortgage rates are still lingering around 4.5%. YAY!!!! Now if people would just start buying houses again, then this whole economic mess will start to go away. (I'm not a financial expert in any way shape or form, but I know that the stock market has struggled horribly over the last several years. And I think the fact that it hit 11,000 is a good sign. And I also know that we need to get this economy moving more and the best way to do that is for people to start buying houses)

I think we are all doing our part with spending every last penny, nickel, and dime on :smickey:.
