Well I will add to the SICK comments. I have a DOUBLE ear infection!!:scared1: How does that even happen?? A 35 year old with an ear infection?? Kind of weird, but oh well. The nurse today said that she had 27 people come in TODAY alone with Strep Throat. It is bad out there, people. Take care.:flower3:

That's good to know that he is down to earth with people.

:rotfl2: So did I! You couldn't even see my walls in my room...they were COVERED with pretty much every picture of him that ever came out in the "teen" magazines. *SIGH* I even have an entire photo album full of articles and pictures of him! :lmao:

WOW!!!! Other Daniel Son fans!!! Loved him, especially in Karate Kid II!! I must have gone to the theater four or five time just to see that movie. My wall were also covered with Ralph Macchio pics, as well as Bon Jovi, Poison, Corey Haim, need I go on???????????

Kind of a scary day. My very good friend and sons' Scoutmaster had a heart attack this morning. They put a stint in and expect him to be find and home early next week. He's one of the best people I know. A really great guy. So, we're all saying extra prayers for him tonight.

Karen, hope he is doing well and makes a speedy recovery.

Sue is *finally* on the mend for real. After going to the Dr. on Monday, she sort of suffered a relapse, and even with some strong antibiotics flowing into her, her fever kept coming back, and going away. Her head is killing her, and her super nasty cough isn't helping that even a tiny bit. Her cough is so bad, that it hurts ME when she coughs! Other than that, her fever seems to have gone away completely, but she has some difficulty breathing at times. So, I am here to send a little pixiedust: her way!

Sounds like Sue is having a pretty tough time. Hope things start turning around for her (and you).

I was in LOVE with Ralph Macchio when I was a teen! :rotfl2: I know just about every line in the karate kid because I watched it about a million times. (that and the outsiders).

You mean I'm not the only one? Oh boy, did I have it bad for him!!

DD and DS have the dvd movie set - contains all 4 movies. They have watched it a few times recently. They love it!

That's funny when you think back to those days isn't it

Sue says, "Thank you" to everybody who sent pixie dust. It may have done the trick!:grouphug:

Well...as I've gotten older, I've gotten less interested in Ralph Macchio and have developed an obsession with Jon Bon Jovi! :rotfl2: I was a Bon Jovi fan in high school, but it's gotten worse over the years! I HAVE to go see him EVERY time he's in Chicago! (well except next month...I saw him twice last year so I skipped this year and now I'm regretting that!)

He is! They sent him home today! He's doing great. Thanks!

That's great!!

That's good to hear!!

Well....I'm off to work to earn some Disney $$$$!!!!!

My parents have booked rooms on property for our entire party (parents, brother, SIL, DH and me) the night before the cruise so we can use the bus to get to the port. The last time my parents went on a DVC members cruise, there was a special event the night before for people going on the cruise.

My mom knows Pleasure Island is closed (that's where the event was), but she's wondering if they've held events every year since.

TIA!

Ok its that time again. Hard to believe that we are getting ready to kick off Thread #5!!! :scared1:

Here we go:

Thread #5 : http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2655886

I have also updated everything I have on the DIS Thread Post one. I will be updating the website as well today and this week we will likely be moving the website to new digs and a new design. If you have any thoughts or ideas for the website please let me know.

Thanks,

Wow, I thought they closed threads at 250 pages, not 150. This went pretty fast

EDIT:
Just checked the rules thread and this is what I found:
We have also decided how to handle long threads moving forward:
1. Threads will be closed at 250 pages (3750 posts)

Oh, poor Sue! I hope she does feel better. :goodvibes I had the same symptoms plus my back started to ache from all the coughing. Did the docs give her something for the cough? Robitussin with codeine, chloraseptic throat spray, cough drops, sudafed, and a bottle of water next to me were my saviors, plus the motrin for body aches. Every time I even felt a cough come on, that "tickle" in the back of your throat, I sipped some water. For the breathing, I slept with my head propped up on pillows to drain my sinuses. I had an inhaler to help with my breathing. That helped plenty. If there is anything I would strongly reccommend, if her breathing becomes more difficult, I would take her to the MD or ER. They should take her in straightaway. :thumbsup2

Hi Sue,

Hope you're getting back on your feet! Wishing you the best.

Dan,

You two need to be at 100% if you're going to visit the newborn twins! Help Sue get strong again, and keep yourself healthy.

Any word from you daughter lately. Hope all is going well. Less than a month away now, right?

Oh man, I hope you didn't walk out of there with Strep Throat too.

I suppose a sinus infection ... turned into ear infections?
Maybe you need "tubes" put in your ears

Do and take what the doctor says. You don't want to create a hearing impediment  Get well soon!

 Jennifer, now I know what you meant earlier when you said something about packing your "medicine chest" for the cruise.

I take Nyquil a couple times a year, and maybe an aspirin/tylenol on a couple of occasions, so I don't plan on packing anything for the cruise. Never have taken anything for motion sickness (which I get), but may bring something for this cruise because we have so much going on, with DVC and now DISboards too.

robynchic,

We have been on a couple of member's cruises, and like Debbie (Luckymomoftwo) says on Thread 5, I have never heard of a special DVC event the night before the cruise, either. This is my first year on DISboards, and they have had informal meets before the cruises, lately. But I can definitely say that in all four threads for this SSMC 2011 cruise, so far nothing has been mentioned about any "official" or DVC meet taking place.

Has anyone else here taken early member's cruises, recall such an event?

This thread is still about 100 pages away from being locked. Do y'all want me to lock this thread so you can use the new thread? :confused3 I noticed people are posting on both of them.

:rockband: "One more Saturday night!"

(sorry ... channeling Jerry Garcia there for a moment ... :hippie: Who is the Grateful Dead and why are they following me???? :rolleyes1 )

She did get something for her cough, and when it got worse, he prescribed some miracle drops (potassium iodide, I think) which made her cough FAR more productive. She has spent the last week with her head propped up on pillows with her inhaler close at hand. This morning, she couldn't take it any more, and tossed the extra pillows off the bed. We have had enough breathing issues around here to know how to handle severe issues.

The bottom line is that today, she actually went out with me to meet my dad and his lady friend for lunch. That totally wiped her out, so that was the extent of her outing.

Thanks for all the good wishes and pixie dust for her! :grouphug:

Yes. She says that she is ginormous. So much so, in fact, that she cannot stand at the sink to do dishes. :sad2: I'm sure that just breaks her heart...

If she doesn't go into labor (should that be labour since she is in London?) before then, she will have them on the 21st. Unless, of course, there are too many emergency c-sections that day, in which case, she will have them the following day. :yay:
