09/18/11 - DVCers Take Over the Dream (S.S. Member Cruise 2011) - Thread #4

Here's our house. I can't tell exactly how much snow we got because there are spots that are only 6 inches high and then there are spots that are 20 inches high and then there are spots that are even higher.

(pay no attention to the Christmas decorations that are STILL up....we haven't had a warm enough day when we're OFF work to take them down, and our icicle lights have been covered in real icicles)

Oh my gosh! It's hard to tell, but that looks like 3 or 4 feet of snow! Those dogs have absolutely no appreciation for your husband's efforts. Have they gone outside yet?

The drifting was quite bad. They've been out but not for long.

This darn blizzard is making me miss Whoopi's trip on the DREAM. The View isn't on TV because it is continuing news coverage of the BLIZZARD of 2011!! Anyone else watching The View??? I am sad.

Did you see it? We had new coverage for awhile but I saw the "Dream" part. They didn't show too much. Nothing you can't find online.

My dog did the same thing. First she went out there and stepped into the snow and got stuck. I think she just kind of went into shock and didn't quite know what to do so she just stood there until I moved her.

Here's poor Pooh Bear stuck in the snow this morning.

Our Christmas decorations are still up too. Tim won't take them down until it gets warmer but at least we're NOT turning them on anymore!

I saw in the AllEars newsletter that the doors in the Concierge area are not magnetic... You may feel free to verify that information but I thought it important for you to know if you planned to post magnets.

Well, it is officially official - my best friend and I will be joining all y'all on the SS Member Cruise 2011.

DCL has apparently had me booked since October (when I first started getting emails about the sailing) but DVC was not aware that my waitlist had cleared so quickly. Now I don't have to worry about being tempted to use my points for something else.

We've got 2nd dining seating with the 7pm show and now I'm just waiting to find out if my most amazing assistant server from my first cruise will be back on the ship in September so I can request him for this cruise.

Looking forward to seeing some DISers in September.

Glad everyone seems to have come through the storm ok. Sorry to hear about JR. Hopefully he will get some rest soon.
We have plowed before and hit curbs and those cement space markers, thats a big bump.

Talking about pups, my crazy labs love the snow. They look like deer outside in the high drifts. The drifts are up to the side of our fence. They have not figured out the could hop over. Casey our brown lab does not want to come in. She can stay out there all day.

Is anyone going to be @ DW for the D23 scavenger hunt and 40th anniversary? May12-14. We could form a team for the hunt. Terrie-Wally-Duffy ??
The ice here is starting to melt but the temperature is going to drop down again tonight so it will freeze again. Slip sliding away-- sounds like a song.

When we were in WDW back in January, we ate lunch at Chefs de France. We had been avoiding the place like the plague for the past couple of years. That was because of a bad experience for dinner that included an hour and a half wait when we had reservations. Anyhow, while we ate lunch, which was wonderful, we had a visit from Armand and his friend.

His friend was pretty expressive, too!

We can't wait to go back there with our grandchildren!

I haven't been on for a while due to a busy work load, but we have been blessed with several snow days in a row here in Missouri, which allows me to catch up on some reading. I am definately motivated to start Dreaming about the cruise now...

Good Morning Everybody!!!

I need some help, my coffee is broken this morning. I have been up and moving for over four and a half hours now and after a few cups of coffee, I could still fall asleep just standing still.

I do not understand, I should be so wired that I am climbing up walls like Spiderman. I dunno what is wrong.

Anyway, just wantd to say howdy and hope all the snowbound peeps have un -bound themselves.

So, here's an update on what Junior has worked this week:

Mon - 7am-3pm
Tue - 5am-3am (Wed)
Wed - 7am-5pm
Thur - 3am-probably 3pm

And he works two jobs and is scheduled to work at his other job tonight, Fri & Sat. He's not a coffee drinker, but I think he's gonna need some by the end of this week to function!

Hope everyone is doing ok through these crazy blizzard and ice storms. Stay warm, and don't try to shovel too much at a time.

I am sorry that Junior had to put in so much time and not get sufficient rest. The only good thing is that you are now able to buy EPCOT with all the Disney Dollars he is gonna bring you.
