I hope all of our Chicagoland friends and our Indy area friends are ok. This was one fierce snow-storm that came through!!! Three counties around us are under a state of emergency (not our county, though). Our schools are closed today, which means I have to use a sick day to stay home because I don't have anyone to watch them within a reasonable distance.

One of the counties that is under a state of emergency is where my mom lives. But she stayed the night at my house last night because she didn't want to try driving home after work yesterday. But her husband couldn't get out of the driveway this morning to go plow. Sorry...I think that's so funny. He's got a plow on the front of his truck and he's stuck in his own driveway. Unfortunately, though, that means no $$$$ since he's not out plowing. BUT...the road he would have to take to get anywhere to plow is closed, so he wouldn't really be able to go anywhere anyway!

Heading out to find a battery for the house alarm. Seems when the battery backup dies, it insists on informing you every 15 minutes. After a few times of getting up to silence it, I gave up and decided to pull silencing duty all night so at least one of us could sleep.

Sorry to hear about your battery in the house alarm! That would be extremely annoying to deal with! Why don't you get two batteries and keep one as a back up? That way next time it goes out during a nasty snowstorm you don't have to pull an all nighter shutting it off.

Well...sounds like you got three extra years out of that battery! So, now you'll just have to remind yourself to change that battery again in three years. Hmmm....that's an odd number of years to have to remember. Can't think of an easy way to remember other than putting a little sticky note with "2013" written on it inside the compartment where the battery goes. You could always put a reminder in your cell phone, but there's no guaranty that you'll have the same cell phone in three years. Oh well...I'm sure you'll figure something out. Good luck!!

Hey John - can you take Brandon & Emilee off of our room? They are only coming with us on the 3 night prior to the member cruise. They'll be flying home with relatives after the 3 night cruise. I wish we could bring them with on the member cruise, but there are several reasons why we're not.
1. Mommy & Daddy need kid free time.
2. Price of cruise is outrageous for just the two of us, it would be un-manageable with the kids.
3. Kids really can't miss a whole week of school....DS will be in his first year of middle school and I don't want to start it off taking him out of school for a week.
4. We like all of you so far and don't want to put you through a week of torture of being around our kids. (I'm only half kidding....they can REALLY be unpleasant sometimes!)

Ok, well, I better go get some more laundry done. I'm enjoying having this snow day today....got the kitchen all cleaned, getting caught up on laundry, playing on the internet, and maybe later I'll enjoy some family time with the kids, if I can pull DS away from the video games and DD back home from the neighbor's house.

Well you are only in Indy...maybe next time we're brave enough to venture down that way with the kids we can make plans to meet. We've already made a trip down to visit Shawn & Milford (MouseFan64 & Disrailfan) and they've made a trip up to see us. So it's our turn next to go visit them. Maybe we can all meet up...we'll have a mini-Dis meet. OR you Indy people can all join us Chicagoland people for the Dis meet that is tentatively planned for some time in January.

We'll only have the kids with us for the 3 night cruise...we'll probably fly in (or drive if airfare doesn't come down) on Wednesday night and then the kids will leave us on the 18th...so it won't be too bad. We REALLY enjoyed our kid free vacation on the 2010 Member Cruise!

Well you are only in Indy...maybe next time we're brave enough to venture down that way with the kids we can make plans to meet. We've already made a trip down to visit Shawn & Milford (MouseFan64 & Disrailfan) and they've made a trip up to see us. So it's our turn next to go visit them. Maybe we can all meet up...we'll have a mini-Dis meet. OR you Indy people can all join us Chicagoland people for the Dis meet that is tentatively planned for some time in January.

Any of those ideas sounds great, but we probably won't be able to do anything until Spring. Until New Year's everyone will probably be too busy. Around mid-January we are planning to be gone for three months for work (Lara's work). So that puts us into Spring. But by then we should be heading north to Michigan a lot on the weekends, so it wouldn't be too hard to meet up that way then. Caitlyn is in Michigan City too, but she doesn't have much free time with her current schedule.

Anyway John we Mark and I think the room tours are a great idea. We can do the poker thing too, although we've never played. So we are in. After this weekend I have been thinking about warmer climates.

Us too! We are going to be in WDW for a couple of days to warm up a bit from January 3rd to January 7th. I cannot wait! It has been NASTY cold here! Right now, it is 2 and heading down to somewhere between -2 and -6 tonight. At least the winds have virtually stopped!

I think it would be so cool to have a DIS meet in the Toronto area!!! Maybe we can plan something...we'll have to talk about that after the new year when things calm down a little bit. Not sure if we can squeeze it in or not (I'm taking three vacations next year and I only get two weeks of vacation time....not sure yet how I'm going to pull it off!)

And you're right...Junior would certainly fall in that category of being a big kid!

Aw shucks we will miss you by a couple of weeks. We will be there Jan. 22 - 26. Meeting with the Disney wedding planner so it will be a working vacation. Hey anytime there is bonus time for us!

We were on 88 yesterday (Sunday) and there was white out conditions. We intended to do some Christmas shopping but decided to turn around and get home before it got dark Things only got worse as we got home and watched the Bears Oh well now they may be hungrier for the next game.
