Just wanted to update you all on my brother-in-law. They have decided that his problems were all due to his diabetes being out of control. They want to put in an insulin pump, but they are still running up against the lack of insurance. They are still trying to get him signed up for a program of some kind, but no luck with that so far. Thanks again for keeping him in your thoughts!

Karen, Great to hear they've got it figured out!
Now just to come up with a "permanent" solution.
I know someone with the insulin pump. It was incredibly expensive, I seem to recall nearly the price of a small car (around $4,000). But she gets around fine with it. At least from an outsiders perspective, it doesn't constrain her in any way. Much like having a cell phone attached to your belt or pocket. Not sure how it works at night though? I hope you all get the financing worked out one way or another. Glad to hear he's doing better. Must have been rough on your family over the last 7 years, not to mention their spouse's family's. Take care.

Lucky for him, the Oregon Health Plan will probably take him sooner or later. Even if he has to wait for a little while. He's now considered "fragile" so his wait will be much less than if he wasn't. All the diabetics I know that have pumps really love them. So, I suspect he'll be feeling much better once he has one. Either way, we're very glad to know what is wrong with him. They had to rule out some nasty things (like colon cancer, etc.). So finding out that he just needs to have his already diagnosed condition managed better. So, it's a bit of a relief.

Karen - I'm glad they found out what the problem was and are on their way to a solution. Diabetes is such an UGLY condition!!! My huband's mom's side of the family all have type 2 (including Junior), and it scares me to think that my kids are going to get it. Type 2 also runs in my dad's side of the family, but not as bad as on Junior's mom's side. If you don't take care of yourself it can do horrible horrible things to your body. I hope he gets the pump and is feeling 100% better real soon!

Your pictures are amazing!!! What kind of camera do you have? I've been trying to improve my photography skills, but just haven't had the time to work on it between work, kids and planning Disney vacations . I have a Canon Rebel Xsi.

I'll let you know after our trip- we are set to go there one night next week. We have kiddos so Chip & Dale are a draw for us. Last year when the girls met them they were really playful and the girls fell in love
