Hi all,

If you wouldn't mind, could you send prayers and pixie dust for my brother-in-law? He's very ill and in ICU at the hospital. His twin girls are just 15 months old.

Thanks!!

We are sending you and your brother in law our thoughts. Our 93 year old neighbor believes strongly in positive vibes we are sending them too.:littleangel:

About to chow down on cornbread, fried chicken, BBQ beans & ribs and finish it off with strawberry shortcake @ HOOP-DEE-DOO REVUE :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I apologize for my excitement. I'm so excited, I just can't hide it. (Isn't there a song like that? :lmao:)

So it's 9:45 pm and we just got home....reading these posts and I read this one to say to my spouse, "Michael, your brother (aka Truffle) is a dork". Considering the next post are we sure that Nancy and Sue aren't directly related????:rotfl2:

Thanks all! We haven't heard anything new yet. Last I heard they were going to do an MRI and a myriad of other tests.

My father insists that we all go every time he is there with us! He just :love:s it! (Is it just me, or has the strawberry shortcake slipped a couple of notches over the past few years?) :sad1:

Add in some more and some positive energy as well. Please let us know how he is doing.

YOU are! How did you like the Float out? I thought it was wonderful! :thumbsup2

I loved it too!!! I could tell you were "so excited".....you couldn't hide it!! Just looking at some pics of the ship and was trying to figure out where my rooms are. For the SSMC, we are in 9560 and in March we are in 6688. I will try and put the pics on here real quick.

Dream special rooms - now that we see the pictures!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now that we've had our first detailed look at the Dream, there are some things that we can confirm.

First, the 9A corner rooms at the back of the ship appear to have 2 large porthole windows! (rooms 5186, 5686, 6186, 6686)

The grey area that breaks up the rooms on Deck 5 aft is a hallway leading to a door that opens out onto a larger than normal verandah area. We saw good pictures of the door when it was opened last night, but it is unclear whether the space is open across the various verandah rooms next to it, or whether it is separated off. (rooms 5188, 5190, 5192 and 5688)

While there does not appear to be any downgrading of rooms at the moment to create "secret verandah rooms" as on the current ships, there definitely appears to be some obstructions to the verandahs at the back, that may lead to some reclassification if enough people complain about the obstructions. Rooms 7668 and 7170 (cat 5C?) appear to have the most obstruction from the pictures, but 9152/9652 (5A), 8164/8662 (5B), 6164/6664 (5D) all have some obstruction overhead as on the current ships (though the deck 6 ones looks really slight.)

In addition, because of the rounded detailing, rooms 9164, 9664, 8176, 8674, 7182, 7680, 6178, 6678, 5180 and 5680 all have some obstructions to the verandah as well, but they are all advertised as metal walled verandahs so probably no adjustment there.

The handicapped Cat 4B rooms on Deck 8 (8090/8588 and 8092/8590) appear to have double sized verandahs. When you look at a picture of the side of the ship, the is a blank where it appears like a room is missing, until you line up the deck plan and see the two H/C accessible rooms there.

NEWMAN!!! The pics didn't copy over. Sorry, these little bits of information may make no sense to you at all. I will keep working on it.

Kinda long story here, but Halloween seems like the time to tell it?

Several years ago my wife and I took an evening walk thru the next neighborhood, past a house which had just had a gas explosion killing the lady who lived there. We stayed on the opposite side of the street, where we were greeted by a baby kitten. This kitten ignored all the kids playing in the yards and followed us, on those little legs, all the way home (probably a half mile). At first I kept pushing it back with my foot, but it wouldn't stay. I began to think maybe its mother had been killed in the explosion.

When we got home, we gave it some milk. Our Blue Chow really liked playing with it. She would get the cat on its back and nuzzle her nose into the kitten's belly. The kitten still had claws and needle-like teeth which it used to bite the eartips of the dog. Poor Jasmine's eartips had been bitten so much hair wouldn't grow there any longer. Eventually we found someone to take the cat thru a friend who has several cats. We dropped off the kitten and all the supplies we had boughten with our friend, to give to her friend.

Jump forward a few years. Now we are living in SW Michigan about 200 miles north of our previous house. I heard on the news that another couple had just been killed in a house explosion, probably less than 20 miles from where we were living. The couple had just moved there from Indiana.

Jump forward another year. Met up with our friend in Indiana who had found the new home for the kitten. After some discussion about our lives during the time we had been apart, she tells us that the people who took the kitten had moved to Michigan, and were killed in a gas explosion!

Spookey, eh? I figure that blood line of cats had an affinity for chewing on gas lines.

The only good thing is, I don't think my wife will ever want to pick up another stray cat (I'm not really a cat person).

Wow that is freaky! :scared1:

And a funny story about our cat loving friends in Indiana.

We went to dinner with them to a bar/restaurant in a small town outside of the town we lived in. Not the most redneck bar I been in, but most everyone knew each other, and knew that we weren't local.

The restaurant side was dimly lit and full of people enjoying dinner. We ordered drinks then dinner. Our friend's husband had a Corona, which of course is served with a lime wedge. When it arrives, he does this little trick where he pushes the lime into the bottle, then holding his thumb over the mouth, inverts the bottle a few times to distribute the lime flavor. This causes pressure to build up in the bottle, so he then continues to hold his thumb over the mouth until the pressure has settled down.

Out of the corner of my eye, I notice an older lady with a big hairdue at the table next to us, kinda flapping her hands over her head and looking up at the ceiling. So I start look at the ceiling too, expecting to see a water leak from the roof. In the dim light, I can just make out a thin line of liquid spraying right into that hair! :scared1: As I shifted around a little, I could barely make out that it was coming from his thumb-capped Corona bottle.

I couldn't say anything, rather just hoped it would subside before they were able to trace it to us. Her husband, who was rather stocky - mostly from muscle, was helping to find the leak too. Luckily for us the pressure quit before they could track it to us. And since no one at our table ever had a clue, they just continued their converstion as normal. Except for me. The only thing that kept me from laughing out loud, was the fear of getting beaten in the parking lot.

To this day neither of the other two know what happened.

:lmao: :lmao: How could you not have shared that story with them? Waiting for just the right moment?

We were able to see our room by stopping the video. We are in 8656 which is on the starboard side, 13 from the aft cabin. Nice to know that we will have a sweet veranda!

Let's see...we had eggplant parm, sausage & peppers, 2 types of lasagna, gyro(with pita & tzatziki sauce), wings (4 different flavors), southern style fried chicken, piccadillo-filled plantain balls, pasta salad, hummus, pineapple/teriyaki chicken meatballs, chili, pulled pork sandwiches, chicken casserole, broccoli casserole, jamacian patties with coco bread, deviled eggs, garlic mashed potatoes, calzone, 4 types of sandwiches, and a plethora of desserts. I'm sure I left out a few items.

I had at least one of everything :upsidedow

I think I'd be sick  after just a 1/4 of all that food. I'm starting to see why you enjoy cruising....it's the endless supply of food.
