Hi Sue! I never thought about walking in one of those until recently. My BFF (since 3rd grade) lost her grandmother to breast cancer back in the 80's. She did the walk last month in NC. Up until a couple years ago, she was the only person I ever knew of that had breast cancer. Then about two years ago my aunt found out she had breast cancer. She is now a SURVIVOR! :dance3: So, maybe next time that 3 day walk comes to my area, I'll do it. But, boy oh boy do I have to get in shape to walk 20 miles a day for three days! :scared:

Yup, you just have to work up to the distances! A couple miles here, a couple miles there, then back to back days - it all works!

I do the 3Day for my best girl Shirl - we've been friends since the seventh grade and thank goodness I can say she is now a ten year survivor. :yay:

It's a really great event. Most people get wigged out when you say 60 miles in 3 days, but you don't have to make it all the way if you can't. There are "pit stops" every two-three miles for breaks and drink etc. And a longer lunch break. And then if you are someplace and you just don't think you can make it, they have "sweep" vans that travel the route and pick up anyone who is hurt or just tried. Then they take you back to camp and you just relax and wait for everyone to get in from the day. They cook hot breakfast and dinner, have entertainment in the big tent at night, and portable hot showers!

It's something that you will never forget - I guarantee it!! :lovestruc

Good morning everyone!!!

Going out to visit the fam- have a great weekend. I'll be catching up on Sunday!

Here is what all my nieces and nephews will look like for the next day and a half: :stitch:

Good Morning All,
I hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday. I will be on a 4 year old's bowling birthday party adventure today so please wish me luck.

Susieq55, what a great cause to participate in. Hope you have a great time.

I pity the poor moderator (Carol?) who has to keep up with this thread. Actually, this week seems to have slowed quite a bit. Now I'm going to have to find more work to do around the house to fill in the gaps.

Good morning everyone! I don't think I'll be able to catchup all of last week when I was gone, LOL! But, I am reading and posting here cause I am on the cruise, not moderating :) You can find me doing that over on the DVC boards. :surfweb:

Making breakfast here now - biscuits and gravy and then the laundry begins. Also have to head over for groceries since we have nothing in here. Our freezer broke while we were on the cruise last week and had to throw out lots of formerly frozen foods, ugh..

Hope everyone has a fantastic Saturday! :)

D23 Sip N Stroll 2010...little bit disorganized :confused3

Seriously?! That's not Disney style!!!

OH NO!!! Sorry to hear about your freezer breaking, but at least you were off having a great time when it happened. :upsidedow Still, that's NOT something you want to deal with when you come home. We went to WDW once in December and came home to 30 degrees outside and 30 degrees IN THE HOUSE! Our furnace broke while we were gone. Had to call a repair guy out in the middle of the night...had a 1 year old child couldn't wait for the next day to get it fixed. :headache: So, I feel your pain!!

And this post is to reach 700! All in 2 weeks. Who would of known I would be this interested in the disboards?:confused3
I guess it's because you guys are sooooooooooo awesome!! Give yourselves a round of applause!!:woohoo:

Ok I just got caught up on 20 some pages of this thread. Hope everyone is having a nice Saturday. I'm taking a break before I finish cleaning.

It's somewhere...overthere!!!!:cool1:
