Usually you are greeted with a "Welcome Home" Check in is after 4pm but sometimes you get lucky, especially if you checked in on line. Check out is 11am and if you attach your credit card to your room card you won't need to go down to the lobby to check out. Internet access is free for DVC members. The decor is in the type of flavor you get with the Contemporary Resort. If you are in a studio, you wil have a mini fridge, microwave and kitchenette type sink. You'll have a balcony as well. For the most part DVC studios are larger than standard rooms, CR is the exception as it was the first resort built and back then rooms were more generous in size. If you are in a 1 or more bedroom it is like a condo. Keep in mind there is no daily mousekeeping with DVC unless you pay extra for it. There is trash/towel service on the 4th day though and full service on the 8th. Magic Kingdom is in walking distance if you like and of course you can take the monorail at the CR. There is a covered walkway between BLT and CR. TOTWL is wonderful for get a light bite to eat, drinks and of course watching Wishes, since they pipe in the music. You will need to be escorted though as only BLT guests staying on points are allowed up. I think that covers a lot but if you have specific questions please ask away


Yicks! checkin at 4pm! getting off the dream and hopes we are up at our resort at noon. I always do online checkin and will do this before I leave my home. Have my fingers crossed our room is ready. Never had an issue in my other trips but like i said first time with DVC. We have a studio room. First 3 nights lake view, 2 nights MK view. I am on wait list for MK view all nights but I doubt if I will get it. Bummer that I have to change rooms.
We have stayed a 2 times at a tower MK view room of the main contemporary. Used to lay in bed watching the castle light up in a mirror on the wall all night. Hearing the train all night. Our hearts were in this resort. When they built the BLT I knew we just had to buy into DVC and that is just what we did. Thanks for the info.

Come Monday I will actually start

Mainly to get a group picture that helps us to find each other.

For the first-timers, DVC has a tradition of taking a group photo during the second morning at Castaway Cay of everyone on the ship who is interested. Probably 1000 people line up at Boat Harbor Beach forming the next number for the number of times they have done this cruise. So we might be forming a huge "10" out of people standing in the sand. The photo is then taken as a birds-eye view from a cherrie-picker.

I wondered if this year we wanted to create a cell of DISpeeps within the others? We would probably need to meet somewhere before the photo and move in as a group. And I would think we need to meet somewhere other than Boat Harbor Beach, because once we get there, they will be ushering us into the formation.

Lara and I have done this a couple of times, but opted out other times. Is anyone interested in trying to form a DIS cell? If we all had the same color on, we could form an image (Hidden Mickey?) within the larger group.

Another advantage is that if we can pick out our group, at least we know where we were in the photo. I've tried to note where I was standing to pick myself out of the crowd, but have never been able to do it.

Green neon shirts, neon green circles held by each person to form a "Hidden Mickey"? I figure neon green would stand out because it's the theme of the Disboards

I like the idea of forming a Hidden Mickey somehow, and neon green is fine with me, but oddly I don't have any green neon T-shirts (just pants ). When I was surveying I kept looking for green neon T-shirts with a pocket, but never found any. I've got all kinds of orange shirts though.

Except for guys that work on roadways, I would guess more women might have that color. Hmmm ... maybe a bright green ribbon-thing you find in party stores. The things you string along the ceiling?

What if we had neon green craft paper or posterboard? We could just pass them out to all of us who show up. They could be held chest high. Or we could fold craft paper into some kind of hat? Just throwing out ideas ...

I get there an hour before you do. Oh I also got to upgrade this morning to business class for what is the equivelant of $30.

I will call you tonight and let you know about whether I am going to wait on you all to get in at the airport. Do you know what terminal you land at in MCO? Just curious cause if you are in the same terminal as Airtran I might just wait at the gate. Let me know you flight number and such.
