Really? That's a pretty neat factoid! Eli Whitney was from my hometown. Two of my sixth grade teachers, a brother and sister, grew up in and later owned the house he was born in.

I do now. Sadly, growing up as a kid in the Boston area, I was surrounded by it and didn't have an appreciation for it.

I took at look at Katia's projected track today. I'm liking her better today than I did yesterday. Looks like they are predicting that she'll curve around and head north of the Bahamas and Florida. Hope she does and that she doesn't hit land and wreck havoc!

I didn't care about history either but now I do. The old saying of your doomed to repeat it is true. I like to learn about it and apply it to today's goings on.

I wish they didn't teach history as facts and dates in school. I didn't get interested until I started reading historical fiction. When you present the story in a way that you can see yourself in it, it's a whole lot more interesting and engaging than just throwing names, dates and events at a kid.

DS is has learned about WWII from the Call of Duty video games. Who would've thought that would happen?
