Amanda the picture idea is a great one! I have the hardest time putting a face or in this case a screen name to a face. We could have our own cruisebook ( like a year book). Well the fireworks started a few hours ago, and I love it. But the cats aren't too happy. I think they know that they can get moreattention if they act realy scared. They are so spoiled!

THanks Rhonda! Let me know what he says...about the photogallery...It sure helps to have something to refer to. We are waiting with bated breath for that profound 1000thpost! LOL I am not sure yet of the route that we are going to take to get to CO but I will get back to you on that! Work was a breeze today. Nobody expected me to be there, so it was relatively wuiet and I was able to get alot done.

Hey Gals!! Just in from our fireworks-we pop up a couple chairs in our side lot and watch the city do the work! we go in together with a neighbor and do some pre-fireworks. he has a special launching pad and we have never had any problems, that is of course until tonite! So we are eewwing and aawwing and WAAMMO BAMMO HIT THE DECK!! one is coming right for me and my little 5 year old neighbor, I grab her and fall to the ground just as the darn thing went whirling right into my chair!! apparantly the launch pad moved after it was lit and there was no stopping it. No one was hurt thank goodness and my neighbor-the Dad-felt awful! But alas, the show must go one-we positioned the pad even farther away this time and went right back to eewwing and aawwing.
Amanda I know how you feel with your DN-my DN (nephew) has a similar situation-we took him to WDW and other trips with us.
Rhonda-that would be cool if your DH could do the photogallery-I think we could just email a picture to a central person then that person could upload them to a photo web service that could be shared.

I talked my DH into going camping in two weeks at Hocking Hills Ohio. We have never been as a family-but I did as a kid. I am so excited. a few days away from all our worries-I also thought it might help me get into conditon for Survivor if I'm called!!

Don't know if anyone on here could be affected, Darcy I was thinking of you and your Orlando trip next month. Southwest is have a great sale on flights (lots with destinations in Fla.). We just got a $400 credit for our previously purchased tickets for September. Southwest will not give you a refund back to your credit card, but they will give you credit with them. Our fare went down to $59 each way to Orlando from Columbus. I think by posting it on our cruise thread this a.m. we saved over $1500 as a group!

Missy, thanks for the heads up! We got some great deals for this August thru Spirit due to my OCD I booked them back in October and the same flight now is close to 120.00 more! I'll keep an eye on the rates for the cruise in 2006-maybe we could park at your house! . Off to work I go-have a great day everyone!

Here it is - My 1000th Post!!

And to "top it off" it is a TOP OF THE PAGE!!!

I have been here on the DIS for 6 years now and it is has been such a great place to share ideas and information as well as a wonderful way to meet new friends.

I am so looking forward to meeting everyone on our cruise next year (and maybe a couple of you before then if all works out well) and I know the next 14 months or so will be lots of fun chatting here.

Am always lurking.......however I am easily confused and with our other cruise this September I get everyone mixed up.......

I will be back in the Spring and you won't shut me up. Spring is usually when I start getting really fired up about these fall cruises.

Sure wish we were cruising with you all this fall but we'll have to make due with waiting until next year. I did get dh to consider booking a Thanksgiving cruise for 2007 when the rates come out; I know the rates will be considerably higher than the 2006 cruise but I would just love to go during that week. Guess we'll see once the rates come out. Anyone here have any experience with prices for a Turkey Day cruise?

I have to admit I broke my no-purchase streak. I bought a couple of things for the cruise including something I am going to share with ALL of my DIS friends on this cruise. So I will try to keep the purchases to a minimum but a good bargain is always hard for me to pass up

Well then, if it is a *group* purchase than it is not held against you ;-p Rhinda, last year we sailed the weekend after turkey day. 11/27/04 and it was the cheapest week of the year. It was great because the ship was already decked out for the Holidays, and all the Christmasy activities were available on board, at waaayyyy less than holiday pricing.
