Hi Ragdoll, hope all goes well with the surgery. I had mine taken out in 05, the first 4 days/nights were pretty rough but then it gets better.

Welcome back Amanda, glad you had a good time in the south. It's starting to get close, only seven more weeks. We are also cutting down on the spending. In three weeks it will just be me and the DH, we have to eat whats in the freezer and cabinets I want all the junk out of this house when the kids all go to college. We go to NY in two weeks. The next three week ends are going to be hectic. Then I can start shopping and packing for the cruise.

It's a rainy yucky day here today.

Hello everyone. DD and I just got home from our weekend camping trip. I'm exhausted. I had forgotten how much work camping out is. This is something that we do every year with my parents and my two brother's families. It's fun to watch the kids have such a good time, but I miss the comforts of home.

As we were driving home today, I had the "we've got to hit budget mode" talk with my DD. This is just a hard time to try to budget. We are having to buy school clothes and supplies. DD is wanting to have carmel chunked highlights in her hair before the first day of school. There are so many extra expenses that fall this time of year.

I am so excited about the cruise. It's all I talked about all weekend. It got to the point that I everytime I mentioned it all my family would look at me like that wanted to say "Shut up already!". I wanted to say "Eat your hearts out!"

Howdy everyone. Thanks for all the well wishes and pixie dust on the dreaded potential homestudy. So now my house can remain cluttered and disorganized- like my mind.

Patricia- good thing about adoption #1 was that dh got done all sort of projects that he had neglected. I'm just relieved we don't have to do it for number 2.

I bought a bathing suit. :lmao: And I gained back a the weight I lost since I started dieting about a month ago. Oh well. If there's a disaster, it'll be the people with a little extra who survive. If I could only convince my skinny little doctor of that.

Dd is the one who finally put the brakes on the MNSSHP for us, just when I had dh ready to go. She said she would be worried she'd be too tired and get sick the next morning. Sad when a 12 year old is the voice of reason in a family, isn't it? :rolleyes1

I've always just given the usual tips during our past cruises, but I've read where others include gift cards... does anybody know if Walmart is the only place around the port? Just wondering why everybody mentions Walmart gift cards.. Phone cards seem a bit outdated now, with cell phones being so readily available, but again I could be totally wrong.
Just wanted to do something a little different this time, in addition to the usual tips, for extra-ordinary magical service... there's always a few of those...
And we'll be using Flounders this time around, so I'd like to get a little something for the counselor's since they don't accept tips...

BTW has anybody read anything the wine pkgs that they're offering this year? I tried doing a search, but the site was too busy. We're not lushes, we just really enjoy our cabs and have found some wonderful selections during our past cruises...
Tx! Have a Great Week!!

Hello all,

How many have gone on diets? My DH says he plans on losing atleast 3 pounds before then :rotfl2: . He's already placed the order for his tux rental and he says he doesn't want to risk it not fitting. What a goof:goofy:. I've done pretty good so far, 46 pounds. I did start this diet before I ever knew we were going to be going on a cruise though. Once we booked I just really stuck to it because I have a ton of weight I really need to lose anyway. But, I got my formal and semi-formal dresses the other day that I had ordered off the internet and guess what, I am on a big time crash diet now. They are too small and I AM going to get into them within the next 6 weeks!!!! They were just such a good deal. I guess it's true when they say formals run small. Atleast I was able to get into them, just not fastened. I'll be dieting like I did when I was a teenager and thought I was oh-so fat. I'm afraid when I get on the cruise I'll have to bring some fat clothes in order to have something to come home in  . Well, atleast it'll give me an incentive to keep up the dieting til then.

The kids start school this week and are none too happy about it. My oldest, DD, starts middle school and is a little scared. My middle child,DS, does well academically but has a hard time making friends (and keeping them). My youngest is a little excited because she gets to use her new princess backpack and lunch box I ordered her off Disneystore.com. (Too bad it isn't that easy for the other two.) I sure am looking forward to it though because they are starting to drive me nuts  .

Hope everyone has a great week and if not, just remember,
not much time left :hourglass . YEAH!!! :yay:
Tonya

Good job Tonya on the diet. I haven't bought any clothes yet. I am waiting until the last minute hoping to be a smaller size.

School starts here too this week, but mine will both be in college it's not until the end of the month.

Every one have a great Monday.

Morning all. Not sure about primary school, but I know some of the colleges start soon. My school doesn't start until Sept 25., the day after we get back. I will be so relaxed the first day of class. :cloud9:

Wristband info:
Well I have to work today, but tomorrow I am going to compile the list of everyone who want a wrist band and make the order. However there is one problem. I ordered a sample from the company that offers the adult and childrens sizes and they are pretty cheap looking. Also they can't color in the lettering so it's really hard to read what it stamped in the band. The other compay that a fellow dis'er has used has great band but you have to order the sizes in a batch of 20. We might have enough to order 40 ( 20 lg and 20 sm) but if not, I will let everyone know before I order them. Here's a picture of what they will look like. http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=11945947&postcount=18

Payment: I have a paypal accout set up if you want to pay that way. Otherwise you can send me a moneyorder or pay me at the port. It's really up to you.

So if you haven't pm'ed me for your band yet please do so today or tomorrow.

These are the sizes that the company provides. But remember they sell them in groups of 20, so we have to order them that way. But if your really concerned about the size for the kids print this out and check the size and let me know.

Morning all. :wave2: Looks like I'll be going out to do something fun with the kids today since they only have a few left before school starts back. They have been begging me lately to go to the build a bear workshop. They must have seen a commercial or something. School starts early here because they get a week long break pretty much every 6 weeks. It's kind of nice that way. I'm just glad I am a stay at home mom, otherwise I would probably have daycare issues. I know a lot of parents do with this kind of school schedule.

Joannel- I'm not going to buy ANY day to day clothes until probably a week before the cruise because I hope to be much smaller. However, I was online looking at formal websites and I found these two dresses for $40 and $15 so I got them. I figured it was worth the risk. I do hope to be that size anyway by then. Like I said, it's just extra incentive.

I also ordered the girls their formals. Not from the same site, unfortunately. But still got what I thought to be a pretty good price. I've never done shopping on-line until here the last 5 weeks or so. It's quite addicting. I haven't gotten the dresses in for the girls yet to see if they are as pretty in real life as they are in pictures, but I am hoping so. They were less than $60 and I just don't think I'd find a deal like that unless I spent the entire day or more out shopping. My three kids DO NOT like to spend the entire day out shopping and have no problem letting every one around know that. They usually only last a few hours before the whinning starts. So the on-line thing is working out great and my stress level is WAY lower. I don't have to hear, "When are we leaving" or "I wanna go home". All I have to do now is make them leave my room. Like I said, it's addicting. :surfweb:

The kids start their next set of swim lessons next week. It went so well the first time, so DH and I decided to put them in the next class. My youngest DD, 6, wouldn't go under water without holding her nose and screamed if I tried to walk out to the 5' with her. She insisted on having on multiple floaties and staying in the 3'. Now she is jumping in, without holding her nose, and she is swimming :woohoo: . She still needs to work more on technique, but is doing great at breathing to the side and continuing on swimming, instead of standing everytime she needed to take a breath. She also learned how to float on her back and is doing pretty good at the back stroke. And all in a total of two weeks, 8 lessons. From the first day to the third day of the lessons she went from not being able to do anything to swimming. I almost cried  . I was so proud of her. All three are doing so well and have learned so much. I just felt that for the older two it would make them stronger swimmers and it really has. I am so glad we put them in these lessons. I think they'll be able to have an even better time on the cruise now.

Everyone have a great Monday. I'm off to the mall now to go build a bear, or 3  :lovestruc  .

Thanks Amanda. The size chart will definitely be of help. We'll let ya know something soon on that. I know we definitely want them though. I do like the two different colors better. :thumbsup2

No problem~ :thumbsup2 I just tried on the one I orded from the other company, it measures out to the large size. It's a little big on me, but it didn't come off,and fit fine. What I was thinking was we might might be better off just ordering 20 lg and 20 med.

Amanda- That sounds good. If they happen to be too big for my 6 year old, that'll be fine. She could always have it as a souvenier. If she were to wear it she'd probably lose it anyway. I don't know yet whether or not it'll be too big because I haven't had a chance to print out the size chart yet. Our printer is in the other room with another computer so it's not real fun to have to unhook the lap top and carry it in there to print. We really need another printer. Anyway, that does sound fine.

How many have requested these? I know there are 7 of us. Is 40 going to be enough? I know it's kind of getting down to the wire on things like this. Oh, I just can't wait!!! :jumping3: :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I was reminded yet again why I do not like spending the day out shopping with the kids. They were great as long as we were in the build a bear store, but after that :crazy2:. Does any body else seem to have this problem. I had to find some more school clothes for my 11 yr old DD and that was like torture for the other two. I thought if they had their bears first it would give them something to do while I looked around. WRONG!!! I guess I should have used it as bribery instead. Oh well. Hind sight is 20/20.

I got the pirate costume in the mail for my oldest DD and it is way too small. It says it is for ages 12 to 16. Since she is 11 and average size, I thought I was safe. That thing is tiny. Other than the length of the pants, it would fit my 6 yr old. I guess I'm back to shopping around. On the internet of course. I'll just go to a different site this time.

I need to go do something productive now, like laundry. :laundy: I'm way behind on that and my husband has this funny quirk about liking clean underwear. Talk to you all later.

Tonya

Tonya- where did you get your formal? I don't like spending money on something I am going to wear once. What diet are you following? I weighed in late night and I am down 37 lbs. I am going to shop the last week end in August. Since I am probably going to have to work the entire week end before we leave for Disney. I do accounting and have to get everything out and all my taxes filed before the 12th.ugh.

Thea whow was the fairy festival?

I hope every one has a great day.. Where is every one?????????????

I have a great tip for the formal dress search. I went to a few department stores and tried on dresses I liked. That way I knew what they looked like on and weather or not they fit. Then I wrote down the brand and size then I hit ebay. I got the black dress I wore on our Alaska cruise for half the price.

Amanda- That sounds like a great idea. But I knew for me I would be wearing a different size by then. Having something too small just helps keep me driven on this diet. Before I got the dresses in I started falling off of it a little. I have them hanging in my closet over top of my other clothes in plain sight. That way I can't just forget about it. Like I said earlier, this is weight that I really do need to lose anyway. Over the past 4 years I'd gained around 85 lbs. EEK!!!

Joannel- I found my dresses on e-bay. The name of the dress store is Scarlett's Closet. The web site if you want to go directly to it is http://stores.ebay.com/Scarletts-Closet-Sample-Sale. Or you could just look it up on e-bay. They have a selection of dresses under $15 but there aren't any over a size 12. I got one dress off of there and another dress from one of their other selections. But even that one was only $40. They actually have less right now to chose from than they did a week and a half ago when I ordered mine. So you might need to shop quickly if you find something from them that you like. And as far as the kind of diet I am on---Well, let's just say food is only to sustain life. I am eating very little. It took quite some time to work up to that though, because I could put away some food a few months ago. I don't eat unless I feel really, really hungry and I stop as soon as I feel satisfied. It doesn't matter how much I paid for it or how good it tastes. Before, that really mattered to me. I usually share with my DH when we go out to eat. I just eat a sliver of whatever he got. That way he doesn't mind too much. Most places give you enough to make you feel like you've just had Thanksgiving dinner if you eat it all anyway. But now that we are down to less than 7 weeks, I'll be living on exercise and water. YUCK!!! I'm not a big fan of either.
I know that probably doesn't help you out in the least, but you did ask. I talked to the Dr. about it and he told me to eat whatever I want but in small portions. And to only eat when I am really hungry. Drinking an 8 oz. glass of water before eating and waiting a few minutes helps too. It helps to evaluate just how hungry you really are. These tips have helped me.

Hope everyone has a great day :) . I got lots to do before the kids open house at school that's in just a few hours.

Later  , Tonya

Thanks, I think a 12 will always be too small. I don't think I will ever nor was I ever a 12. But I wil look at ebay tonight.

They also have other sizes. The only one that I saw that had nothing larger than a 12 was the $15 ones. One of the dresses they sent me said 9/10 inside but the tag on the outside said 12. I started to freak until I tried both dresses on. They both fit the same so I guess it was tagged wrong somewhere along the way. They had lots to chose from over all though. I know what you mean though, not wanting to pay a lot for a dress you'll only wear once.

Tonya

Hi there :wave2:
Just a quick question, in case anyone knows off the top of their head... What night is Pirate Night on our cruise?????
Cheers :joker:

We're back from the Faerie Festival (actually we were back Sunday but I had so much to do yesterday...no time to post!

We took a huge (I mean huge) bag of books and a t-shirt to get signed...Mekayla LOVES the Spiderwick Chronicles and she has a promo T-shirt from 2001 that she wears as a sleep shirt ~ she got Tony Diterlizzi to sign her shirt and he drew Hogsqueal on it! Oh boy, she flipped! ::yes:: So now the new delima in the house is should she continue to wear the shirt or should we frame it? After all, it's now original artwork from Tony! I told her she should wear it and enjoy it, but she's real big on "saving stuff" for when she's older...I dunno' :confused3 We also bought "Arthur Spiderwick's Field Guide to the Fantastical World Around you" and he signed it along with the 5 (count 'em) five books in the complete series that she already owned that he signed! I told him to spare carpal tunnel he could just sign one, and he said, "no, they're all a set, I'll sign each one!" Very cool. :thumbsup2

Then, {drum roll please} we met the Frouds. You know...the people who made Yoda, :yoda: "you can not see for to future the is mystery" :yoda: and The Dark Crystal ~ they're working on Dark Crystal 2 for those of you who might be interested ~ and the goblins in Labyrinth back in the 80's! EEEEEEE! :Pinkbounc This is where my stack of books came in... Brian Froud signed all eight of my books and one of my Oracle decks and then we bought Wendy's new book and she signed it...Mekayla had Toby Froud (their son) sign everything "The Babe with the Power" he was the baby in Labyrinth...yeah, you know the words...sing it with me... :rolleyes1 "You remind me of the Babe'...what babe'...the babe' with the power...what power...the power of Voodoo...who do...you do...do what...remind me of the babe'. :rolleyes1 Anywho...we had a ball. My friends Kan'Nal played on Sunday and there was a fire show {flaming poi balls and all that} Saturday night...it was good.

So - Seashells...when are you flying in and where are you staying? You're killin' me...you just left me hangin' whassss Up?

T&E - I think Pirate Night is Cozumel night...not 100% sure, but I think so.

Joannel - :thumbsup2 See Ya' in the Terminal Baby!

Favorite Disney Princess Amanda - Where the heck are ya'? You go and start this crazy thread and then when we all show up, you become mysterious! I'll hunt you down... I know where you post :rotfl:

Tonya - congratulations on your will power! I will never see size 12 again :sad2: no svelt black evening gowns for me...where are those sweatpants...mamma needs a cookie!

I signed up for another board exchange...so now Mekayla and I are on a Tigger hunt. :tigger: Man, I wish we had a Disney Store...It would be a piece of cake to pop into The Disney Store and pick up exchange stuff...oh well...Target ~ here we come. :tigger:

I know you guys haven't seen Edwardo yet, I got the bumper sticker on him, I'll post photos soon. Between Crater Lake and the festival, we have been busy.

Amanda01 - Crater Lake was amazing. I don't even have the words to describe what it was like seeing it for the first time in person. My kids and I were quite for ten minutes straight. That's some kind of record right there.... :lmao: I bought three post cards at a quarter a piece and gave the girl a dollar, she gave me back an Oregon quarter (It has Crater Lake on it ~ for those of you that don't know or never paid attention) {I fell into the never cared group} I laughed, and asked her if she did that on purpose...she said yes, they try to only hand out Crater Lake quarters....they have rolls and rolls of them. :rotfl2: That's a scream! O.K. gotta get back to work now...just wanted to post and say "hi"...I was going through DIS withdrawal.
