O.k. The tag game sounds fun, I'm in. :thumbsup2 Gail, we should link dinning reservations, we're eating early too and your daughter and mine will probably be fast friends in the club! Since you're a single parent traveling, you can hang out with me and Cindy if you want company. We're a fun team. Think about it, the offer's there. I got my pirate costume yesterday, I am so excited! pirate: Anyone plan on doing the dolphin excursion on Cozumel?

Here are our door signs. I made them a while ago. Hope you like them, i'm a little proud!

Lime Green Bandanas Anyone?? :thumbsup2

I have found a great source for lime green bandanas. Just over $1 each when you add tax and shipping if I buy them bulk (normally $3-$4 each).

If anyone would like to add their family/group to my order, just let me know. We could wear our "buffs" like on Survivor. :rotfl:

I will keep a list of names and pass them out at the port or the sailaway party.

Amanda ... those door signs are awesome!!! :cheer2:

I stayed at the Radisson before and was really disappointed. We were in a smelly room - very antiquated. I've read great reports but in my case it was not what I expected. I'm trying the Residence Inn this time.

DH only likes to lay around when on vacation. I am the opposite, I love to do sight seeing and investigate everything. We did not do any excursions before but I want to do the ruins in Costa Maya. Ivan's company is very well regarded. I also wanted to stop by the local school :teacher: in Mahahual to bring supplies. I've heard they are in much need of basic supplies and get really excited on "cruise days" b/c they hope to get visitors.

Hey I don't think we have met, it has been awhile since I have been on. But anyway my name is Amy and The school thing you are talking about that sounds really neat. I would love to have my kids take supplies to the other kids at the school. If you have info on this I would love to have it. I have never heard this before. That would be really neat. Thanks in advance.

Wow! Where has everyone been? I guess I'm not the only one spending the week crying over taxes.

Karen, I'm just one vote, but it's fine with me for your daughter to put together a web page. I know little to nothing about the technical stuff. My DD is 8 and she teaches me things about the computer and the internet. I've been reading on some of the boards for the other cruise dates, and they are doing things like t-shirts, pins, and treat bags. All of this sounds fun to me and may be things that am more able to contribute to. For those of you who have cruised before, is it too early to begin organizing things like this?

Gail,
I haven't been on it a while I am hoping to get to know you guys before we get on the cruise. We did this on for our cruise last dec. and my kids had e-mail pals and it was great. Anyway I am not sure what all you guys have been talking about doing but we all met at the goofy pool at 3:00 and everyone brought five magnets from their home state and we traded them. It was fun. But we would really like to get involved in whatever is planned. There is five of us. DH Brian DS-11 in may dd-8 in june ds-7in aug.
the kids would love e-mail pals for this cruise also. if anyone has kids their ages. And it is never to early to organize for a Disney Cruise. It helps make time go faster.

amy

Rhonda - can you let me know where to e-mail a picture.

Amanda - great signs!

Picked up some software to help create Disney themed slide shows so I'm working on compiling pictures from all of our cruises & adding music. I'm in Chicago on business all this coming week and hope to work on the tags & anything else when I get back.

Sirena- We're hoping to tour with Ivan's company as well! It will be me, dd (12) ds (8) and grandma and grandpa. Dh is staying on the ship with the little one, because 2 is way too young for ruins.

We'd like to go to the school as well. When we visited our agency's orphanage in China we took a few things, but they wanted things that weren't made in China. Do you know how hard it was to find things not made in China?

Maybe we can all go on the same tour. Our kids are usually very well behaved- BUT we'll be studying the Mayan and Aztec civilizations before we go so they might be filled with useful and gruesome information.

Julie

Amanda- great signs.

Okay- I'm completely unartistic, and technologically delayed- how do you make those things?

Bandanas sound good. I'm still trying to understand the tag thing. I have to read it more slowly. Since we're on break from school my brain is officially set to off.

Julie,
Is your DD2 going to be 3 by 9/16? Will she be able to go to the OC? I'm looking for a buddy for my DD4. She felt lonely the last two nights and did not want to stay...

No- unfortunately. She turns 2 in May. Hopefully we'll get her potty trained so she can get herself into the pool. I'm not expecting it, because oldest dd wasn't trained until she was almost 3, ds until he was pushing 4. Though they told us in China she should have been trained by the time we got her- (20 months) and that her foster parents must have been lazy or they spoiled her too much.

tstobb (and anyone else who wants to) - you can send me an email with your pic at rhonda.hare@verizon.net and I'll have my dh add it to the gallery.

Karen - here is our info to add to the info website - thanks again to Tiffany for her fabulous work!!

me Rhonda (41)
dh Michael (49)
dd Gentry (6)
ds Pierson (3)

cabins 7504, 7506
early seating (this is probably going to end up becoming late seating)
no requested rotation
no pirate names - yet :)

I am up for tag and anything else that we can put together. I am still trying to get dh to work a bit more on a design for us to use on shirts etc. He was working on an ice-cream-sundae-in-the-shape-of-the-Magic thing but don't know how far he got. I'll have to see and get back with you all unless someone else has already got something or a better idea.

Looking forward to meeting you all in only 153 days!

Julie,
That'll be perfect. We should definitely plan it for the same time. I'm planning to take my DS1 1/2 to the tour since my DH would probably not want to miss the tour. My DD4 will surely enjoy visiting the school and bringing supplies. I've read about the donations on cruisecritics and another thread here. I'll look for it and post it. I know they have an elementary and a high school. I want to go to the elementary since my DD would get to see kids her age. I've read you can take a cab there (5 min ride). And then go to the meeting place for Ivan's tour. So I'll just bring the stuff and find the place, shouldn't be too hard. :wizard:

For sure it would be me, DH, DD4, DS1 and maybe grandma and auntie. The more the merrier. I also read/ask about young kids in those ruins in particular and even saw pics in the thread of some in stroller.

Amy,
Ditto to the message I just posted for Julie. Let's all plan to do this then. :thumbsup2 It would make sense to go all together and not disturb the class at different times. Although it seems they would hardly call it disturbance. I've read they get excited on "cruise days" expecting guests to bring goodies for them. :woohoo:

This sounds great to me! :cheer2: I've been hoping to find someone to link with. This is our first cruise, so I'm not sure how or when to link the seating. Just let me know what I need to do. If you have not already made Palo plans, I am hoping to find someone or a group of people to go to Palo with also. I want to go to both brunch and dinner, but I know myself well enough to know that I will not go alone. If you, or anyone else, is interested in either, please let me know.

I'll take you up on the offer to tag along some during the day also. DD has informed me that I will not be seeing her much. I printed the sample club navigators from this board so we could highlight some things that she doesn't want to miss. The only things she did not highlight were the Stormin the Lab sections and that's just a specific activity wasn't listed.

We are planning to dress for pirates night. Were did you find costumes at this time of year?. I thought we would have to wait until september and hope that the halloween things are out before we sail.

We are doing X-Carat at Cozumel. DD's school district said that they would give her an educational excuse for the week of school she will be missing if we visited the park and if she then did an oral report to her class about what she learned there. They do have a dolphin swim there also, but the materials say that it will take up about three hours of our time. With the travel there and back, we wouldn't have much time to enjoy the other aspects of the park if we do the dolphins.

How do you guys make these signs? Where did you find the graphics? Did you have to get Disney's permission to reproduce them or are there sites with graphics that have been released for reproduction? Are those magnets? I wouldn't know how to start putting together something like that. To be honest, when I thought about a magnet door sign, I called Graphic Impressions, our local print shop, to see if they could put something together for me. They are checking into seeing if they can get permission to use some of the Disney logos and prints.

My DD will eight when we sail also. 7-9 seems to be the age group for little girls on the cruise. I am sure that she would love to e-mail with your DD. She is looking forward to meeting some new friends. We will private message you soon to give you her e-mail address.
