O.K. kids, I just got off the phone with a CM who said The ships are going to Cozumel starting this month. Did everyone else know this and I am just the last in the loop :confused3 I heard (read) that it was something like November 2006 before Cozumel was a "go"?!?! Oh well, PurpleTart will be thrilled! I must be trippin' :hippie: 'cause I know we discussed at some point that Cozumel may be skipped, but apparently I just dreamed it. :lmao: Well, guess I had better revisit the excursion options there.

:thumbsup2 Great news. I tend to get seasick on days at sea so the more stops the better for me. :cool1:

I am not sure how many points. I know we can cruise every other year with a few left over. We get 250 a year. We have yet to stay on Disney with our points. We have only used them to cruise and one year we stayed in the Grand Californian in Disneyland. We usually stay in the Shades of Green, the military hotel on property. It is very reasonable and very nice. Some day I hope to stay at the beach club, maybe when we are older and greyer. All we do in sleep in that room.

We do have a castaway club number. So when is our magic 90 days June 18th? or June 16th? I need to put it on my calendar.

Thanks,
Joanne
We joined last DVC last month and we already booked our first stay. We are going to try out Boardwalk Villas for a week before the cruise. Then next year we are going to Grand Cali. in DL. I can't wait. We looked at using points for a cruise, but we might just rent out the points and pay cash instead. But we won't be cruising again until 2008. So we will have to see if we add on by then.

WldWcnWmn, Thanks for the Cozomel update! Now I can get back to my excursion planning!

WE joined in 2002 on our first cruise. Maybe when these boys are out of college we can buy more. But until then all our money goes to FSU. When we go to disney we are out the door at 7 and don't return until the parks close. I am hoping someday to do it in the off season and leasurely go through the parks. But with the boys we have to do all the rides. I can't waqit to go and wonder through every store and every show. We have always gone when school was out so the parks are very busy.

We booked the Residence Inn for the night before. I two bedroom was 149. Compare to 119 each at the Radisson. Any one else staying there?

Have a good Wednesday.

I booked the same (2brm at the Residence Inn), just yesterday! Maybe we'll be neighbors... :thumbsup2

Sirena- we have hereditary high cholesteral in our family. My sister lost close to 40 pounds, started working out 3 times a week and all she really succeeded in doing was raising her good cholesteral level. Same with me- though I only lost around 20 pounds (most of which I have packed back on over the last eight months). She's on meds now, but I'm not, yet.

Julie

That would be cool. I don't know what time we will get there. We have to pick up my hubby's sister & husband at the airport ot noon. We may go to downtown Disney for a while and then head over. I do need to go to Ron John also. They have the best insulated water bottle I have found any where. Lost my last one.

SAILAWAY PARTY ANYONE?  :wizard:

I have it on great DIS authority that ...

"deck 10, starboard side overlooking the Goofy pool is a great place for a meet on the 1st day at about 4-4:30. The deck party isn't quite fired up yet"

unless anyone has a different plan, it sounds great to me.

We will be bringing our family "specialty" bags of special wrapped Hershey's Nuggets, personalized especially for this trip ... plus some fun "double scoop" surprises. ;)

I think it might be nice to start a list of who is sharing what fun items on the website. I know luggage tags and nametags were mentioned. Is this official? Is anyone designing tshirts? Planning a wine tasting? Organizing a cabin tour? Planning a DIS meet at Serenity Bay? Organizing a bridge tour or maybe a photo op with DISers and Captain Mickey while we are onboard? Any other fun events/activities? C'mon now, we only have 5 months!! :goodvibes

I will pass out details of the tag game, once we have most DISers info.

Tiffany can make a link to various things, just let me know when/where/what/who and she will make links to each event. :p

Happy Wednesday!!

What time is the life boat drill? I know it's right before the sail way party. deck 10 Is a great place to meet.

Thanks again.

T O P for me!!! :cool1:

"What time is the life boat drill? I know it's right before the sail way party."

Shipboard activities stop from 3:30-4:30 for the drill,. If we head up to Deck 10 after the drill to grab some tables and chairs (and meet and chat and share surprises) we will have a great view for the sailaway. :woohoo:

Skoi,
So you can say that I am doomed!! I want to lose weight b/c I need to but also to help this cholesterol issue. The doctor says Im too young to start on meds so she's given me the natural stuff - omega3 and fiber tablets (10 a day! in total). I started eating the yucky oatmeal in the morning. I really hope this does the trick. :wizard:

Karen,
You are all fired up! It's getting me so excited that I finally upladed the screensaver/music/wallpaper from the CC Survival Kit. :cheer2:

Joannel,
We will probably get there late unless DH gets Friday off as well. Are you driving from somewhere in FL also? We are driving from Pembroke Pines. :moped: I think we want to rest and chill since we have little ones. So they can be all fresh the next day.

Where is Pembroke Pines? We live up in the Panhandle. It will take us about six hours to get to Orlando.

Yikes! It's in Broward County - close to Fort Lauderdale. It will take us about 4 hrs to PC. So if DH does not take Fri off we will be there late

We're driving up Friday from Fort Myers. It's almost exactly 4 hours door to door. Haven't decided where we're staying yet but are leaning towards the Residence Inn as well. We usually stay at the Raddison (love the in-room whirlpool!) but would liek to try the other. We get in too late to make the Ron Jon worth it.

Haven't decided what to do the Saturday we get back yet either. Hate to just end it & drive home so we'll probably get a room at WDW and spend the day in the parks. LOVE Everest!

Anyone planning excursions? We're torn between Playa Mia Beach and the ruins in Cozumel. DD is dying to do the stingrays on Castaway Cay the 1st stop & again on the 2nd if she likes it! I love the CC Eco Tour.

I stayed at the Radisson before and was really disappointed. We were in a smelly room - very antiquated. I've read great reports but in my case it was not what I expected. I'm trying the Residence Inn this time.

DH only likes to lay around when on vacation. I am the opposite, I love to do sight seeing and investigate everything. We did not do any excursions before but I want to do the ruins in Costa Maya. Ivan's company is very well regarded. I also wanted to stop by the local school :teacher: in Mahahual to bring supplies. I've heard they are in much need of basic supplies and get really excited on "cruise days" b/c they hope to get visitors.

Wow! Where has everyone been? I guess I'm not the only one spending the week crying over taxes.

Karen, I'm just one vote, but it's fine with me for your daughter to put together a web page. I know little to nothing about the technical stuff. My DD is 8 and she teaches me things about the computer and the internet. I've been reading on some of the boards for the other cruise dates, and they are doing things like t-shirts, pins, and treat bags. All of this sounds fun to me and may be things that am more able to contribute to. For those of you who have cruised before, is it too early to begin organizing things like this?

Yes, I have cried over taxes. I do every year.

Sirena, that's cool that we are close.

TS, my husband and son were just down in Ft Meyers. It's the closest they can get to see the Red Sox. they went for a week of sping training. I started a new job a few months ago so I didn't have any vacation time. Not that four games in five days wouldn't be fun :confused3 but a boys vacation was fine with me.

What kind of things do you bring to give away?
