We would love to do it but the prices are out of our league. It would be about 20,000 for the 5 of us in 2 cat 9 rooms plus taxes plus airfare - figured about 26-27K. That gets us 5 fall 7 day cruises with money left over for tips & drinks at the rate we paid for the September cruise. True, it would be a one of a kind experience and if money weren't the issue, we would be 1st in line on the 4th for the repo home but that money will go a ways towards 3 college funds instead.

Yea, I love Disney and I really want to go to Europe but I would rather keep them seperate and make it a more affordable trip on both sides.

eeek we were down at the bottom of page 2! We cant have that happenong! Plus it has just dawned on me that in exactly 60 days I will be boarding the magic! And I have sbput 50 days until our vacation starts!!!
No MED cruises for us..airfare times 6 would be a few Carribbean cruises in itself! Not even including cruise fare....plus if I ever get DH over to Europe I would like to visit Germany again...since I spent time there as a kid..

Hey guys! My dreaming is over to. For me, it would have only been DD and myself. I thought Cat 12 repo would be $4,000.00 for the cruise. It seemed that I could get flight back for a little less than $2,000.00. If we went light on excursions and extra!?!? For a vacation of a lifetime, I was willing to try it. Then I looked at the stops on the repo. For just under $10,000.00, I would want to see far more of Europe than just Spain. Then I did a little research on my own and roundtrip flights for two and hotel for two weeks in various cities in Europe and transportation to the various cities, as well as tours of those cities can be done on the same or less money. I have decided to wait until my DD (now 8) gets a few years older and then let a travel agent help us plan a tour of Europe that includes everything we want to see. I realize that it would be a huge expense, but I figure it will be a one time thing, and the educational value for my DD would be invaluable.

What was also making it more manageable is that we are already planning a Christmas Season trip to WDW, which is a huge expense in itself. I thought if I combined the budget for that trip with my budget for next years vacation, I could make it happen. Now, we are back to the WDW trip at Christmas. I think my DD is happier! She is so looking forward to seeing everything decorated for Christmas.

Anyway, let's look forward to our September cruise and wish well to all those who can and are willing to pay for the Med. cruises.

However, my best friend and I have vowed that tomorrow is the day. Her son's basketball practice is at 5:00. We are meeting there to begin our walking routine. We have decided to try the low carb diet. It works faster and I don't have to live on vegetables for months.

So..Did you actually start? I haven't yet! and on top of it I have to admit that I have been eating more than I should (sweets especially) because "tomorrow" I will start - I say this everyday - so I might as well have a piece of the espresso brownie I love from Starbucks. This is a vicious cycle. I can't stop it...Help!

Are you joking? :rotfl2: No, I have not started my diet yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Monday, I ended up at a high school baseball game, sitting on my behind, eating hot dogs, chips and cheese, and candy bars. I keep saying tomorrow also. Well, today is yesterdays tomorrow and I have already had Mountain Dew and Crispy Kreme Donuts. We have to get serious about this because time is ticking away. :hourglass Does anyone have any ideas on how to make all of us really get into this weight loss thing?

Well I don't know if it the medication is doing it or not I have lost some weight. I refuse to have a scale in my house, so I am basing it on how comfortable I am in my jeans and I am feelin pretty good in them. Like I said it could be the meds or it scould be that I gave up candy for Lent. God help me on Easter! :teeth: Damn you Candy!!!!! I love it so much I hate it! ;)

So from your message I gather that I should a. stop eating sweets b. take some meds. Meds please!!! :hippie:

My real problem / solution is to start exercising, b/c once I start I don't feel like eating sweets/fatty foods. How do I put on my sneakers???

Well in order to get the meds you have to either have seizures or migraines that require a daily treatment for prevention. The other side effects do include tingling in the feet and hands. It's really weird. It's like my hands and feet are all of a sudden asleep. I will be typing and boom, tingles. Oh and one more very bizarre side effect, soda. I don't really know how to describe this, but now when I drink a soda at first it tastes flat. But when I start to swallow it I feel the carbonation. It is the strangest side effect from medication I have ever had. But I have to admit I kinda like that one! :p

Come on ladies we can do this. My neighbor and I started the Zone diet last week. It is working. But it takes some work inthe moring. I have to make breakast, lunch and a snack. You eat 5 smaller meals. I hope I can kepp it up. Atkins was just not working this time. The zone is nice, you can have cards only in a small portion.

I go to the gym on my way home from work. Otherwise that recliner is calling my name. I am tired of being the oldest and most out of shape one in my step class. But it makes me sweat so that's a good thing.

Have a good one

Well, I'm still in trouble. I don't have seizures and probably have never had a headache in my life. So, no meds for me. I don't really eat candy. I get my weight from good, solid food, and a lot of it, especially anything BBQ. I guess I could try the exercise, but so far I've just done a lot of scheduling and not much showing up when the time comes.

Let me ask some of you who have cruised before (this is my first cruise), I have been reading the other boards and some of the other first time cruisers are having trouble getting Palo ressies because by the time they get to start making ressies the repeat cruisers have them all booked up. Will this mean that we just won't get to try Palo or do you think a lot of those people will cancel later on? I wanted to try the brunch and dinner at Palo. I liked the idea of making all of these ressies on line until I started reading about all the problems the other people are having. According to what they are posting, all the best spa times are taken before we will even get to start booking also. Do you any of know whether or not this is a problem on all the cruises now or could it be that with some cruises things fill up faster than with others.

Also, I have early seating and with my DD I need early seating. She is used to eating early. Do any of you have early seating also. I would like to find a Diser who has children to maybe linking seating with. My DD and I are sailing alone and I am having nightmares about being seated with some obnoxious family. I'm not sure why I am worrying. We probably won't eat in the dining rooms every night anyway. My DD says she refusing to sit through an hour long meal every night and to be honest I am not looking forward to it very much either. We have decided to give a try and if we don't enjoy it, we are going to eat on the run like we always do and just take part in all the activities that are offered during that time. We are hoping for Animators on the first night because we do both want to eat there for the show. Can we request a rotation that begins with Animators? IF so, how do I do that?

Only about 45% on the Palo ressies are available for booking on-line, the rest are booked on the first day when you get onboard.

I totally agree with you on the Med pricing thing. Since we live in the UK I thought it would work out better cost wise to do the Med cruise but wow was I wrong. DH says that it would be cheaper to do another back-to-back in the caribbean when the magic returns than do the Med cruise, and that includes airfare.

You're an inspiration. I know I have to get started b/c I feel tired all the time plus I just emptied my closet, gave away all my clothes and don't want to buy anything until I lose weight. My son is already 1 year old so I have can no longer use the baby fat excuse. ;)

Gail,
On my first cruise last year I was able to book Palo online - no problems- I ended up not going since my DD did not want to stay at the OC. I hope she finds a friend this time so she doesn't feel so alone. Anyone out there has a 4 y/o? I am sure a lot of people cancel onboard, like we did.

We have the late seating this time, we always made it because our servers were really fun.

Great, I didn't know this. So, is it the same deal. I should be one of the first on the ship and go straight to the reservations desk?

They don't start taking reservations right away but it is fun to be 1st on the ship - no lines at the buffet :thumbsup2

Hi, is your one year old going alson??? We are taking our daughter who will be 20 months in September (her 1st cruise was the Wonder 2 day at 7 months) so I would love to know of some more toddl :cheer2: ers who are going!!!

thanks,
Teresa

Yes, of course. This will be his second cruise also. He spent a lot of time in the nursery last time and I plan to book all hours allowed this time too. I was able to leave him for more than the time allowed b/c they had enough spots available. I hope that is the case again.

Great, hopefully they will see each other in Flounders! We also used it for more than the alloted time on our 3 day cruise and that the staff was wonderful. I am hoping she enjoys it again, she is not currently in daycare but does go to a playgroup 2 (sometimes 3) days a week so she is accostomed to other kids! Looking forward to meeting your family (she is our first child, so it will be me, my DH and DD)
