Actually, I found on the first page of the thread it says "starboard", that's the right side, right? I mean, correct? In other words, the side that faces the terminal? You would think I'd know this stuff by now, since this is #4!

I get confused too! Just look for the gaggle of people up at the Overlook bar after the sailaway....this is more of a "hey Im Amanda" then you look confused and I say'Youknow dzneprincess" and then you say "oh yeah Im Jeff" and I look confused then you say "yeah you know Beaker1967?" LOL Then depending on how comfortalbe you feel at the meet you might want to hang out with us or you might want to do your own thing....no biggie..it is just mice to see a familiar face sometime

! We decided not to stay home this weekend. I have way too much to do, besides I don't want to spend the money on gas when I could spend it on pins! :teeth:

Ok I am confused? How is not staying home going to save money and get you caught up on what you need to do?!?!?!

goofysgirl said:
speaking of pins...does anyone know where we can buy any prior to the cruise? We used to be able to get them at the local Disney Store-no longer and then the Characters place in the Orlando outlet mall-but they did not have any the last time we were there.
My daughters are really into pin trading and they always find some neat ones on the ships.
One day closer :cool1:

They had some at the Disney outlet in Prime (aka Belz malls this weekend) not a huse selection but some..and speaking of Belz malls FYI I went there expecting my normal store and the one I usually go to in the very back, was closed the whole buildng was being renovated so there is only one now in Mall one on the left...

Hey guys I know I don't come around alot, I get so busy and my computer has been acting crazy. I will probably end up buying a new laptop soon. Which I would usually be excited about buying something new but when I have already went through putting things back on it that was taken off becouse I had a hacker, I don't want to do it again. I still am not totally done I have been doing it as I needed the program, which stinks when you are in a hurry and then realize you have to load the thing.....

Oh well that is not the reason I am posting this The reason is that I looked at the first page to find out everything about where to meet and what rooms and what dinners for everyone and the site for some of that stuff is not up to date. So am I suppose to go to another page to find this stuff out????

I have not even started packing one thing..... Any of you that pray, My brother is a very big softball player and he atually has people pay him to play ball for him, well anyway he was pitching two nights ago and the guy hit the ball right back at him and it broke 9 bones in the right side of his face and they are going to reconstruct his face as soon as the swelling goes down. They sent him home until the surgery... So if you pray, please do that for him, he is feeling really bad....

thanks guys
amy

OMG that is horrible..I hope he is healing well! WOW!

And sorry about the first page not being up to date, I am so behind on stuff I havent even washed clothes from the trip ..so anyhting you need to know dont hesitate to ask via the boards or theu PM

Sucks huh? I think it is a shame to punish ALL for the actions of some....these laws. I think were set up for the parents who just dont give a rats ***...but those of us who just want time with our kids are also punished......

Oh I know. I am lucky that I got DD's days excused. To be honest, I pulled strings to get it done. The Superintendent over our school system is one of my exhusband's best friends. The truancy office in our county was my high school science teacher, and you could say I was definitely the class pet. Then the principal at her school is one of my best friend's sister. It's the same friend that I let stay her a few days a week or so ago. They don't just go around handing out those education enhancement day excuses.

Also, is anyone planing to do a live thread from the Magic? I am going to.

No live thread for me....

(if I dont start posting this way Ill never get caught up still only on the 1st!

gssmks said:
I . Do they post somewhere what will be served in the dinning rooms and at Topsiders for lunch, so that you can deside where you want to eat, or do you just have to pick one and eat what ever is served?

the only thing I recall seeing is the dinner menu theme on the Navigator again I am not so sure about Topsiders and how all that works I am interested in your experience there in the evenings so please be sure and share

gssmks said:
For those of you who are planning to book your next cruise while on this one, when are booking for?

.

No new cruise booking for us...boohoo I made a promise....but I am hoping to do ned oy May 2008 ...waiting for itins and rates to be announced

I want to order the Bon Voyage gift package for embarkation day. Has anyone had this before?

remind me which one is that? I have had the fruit and cheese and champagne thing and the little memory box thing

gssmks said:
No joke. I do have another legitimate question. I know that there are irons in the laundry room, but can we bring the little travel irons with us?

EEK! NEVER EVER post that ?? on the main boards! LOL I think that they request that no travel irons be used in the staterooms, I am thinking it is a fire hazard but I am not usre. Personally I dont see what the difference is in that or a steamer? But what do I know ?( Wait a min dont answer that!)

JNorris said:
We want to do the Eastern cruise next. .

.

Eastern was great! I loved all the sea days!

JNorris said:
I think the official answer is no, you are not supposed to have travel irons in cabins. I think I brought one on our first cruise. The last cruise I took a bottle of that Wrinkle Releaser stuff, and it really did work. Of course, it won't make things look crisp, but it took the major big wrinkles out (and it makes the clothes smell good!). I'm bringing some on this cruise too.

That reminds me...I bought the wrinke release also, but I usually send out Steves suit to be pressed the first night and anyhitng else that really needs it, that the liquid stuff aint helping it really is quite reasonalbe and it is nice to have that suit all rpessed and clean and ready to go....

gssmks said:

As for attire, I thought that I had read somewhere that you do not have to dress for breakfast and lunch even in the restaurants, just no bathing suits. Is this not true?

you are correct ma'am

JNorris said:

I will give you one hint, and hopefully no one has spoiled the surprise. Make sure you see the Disney Dreams show. Stay until the end. If it doesn't bring tears to your eyes, then you are not a true Disney Sap!

Judy, I too cry getting on and off, and even on the drive home..and Disney Dreams FORGET it! I even cried at the farewell show this last time! A little bit a faith trust and pixie dust!

gssmks said:
I . Am I correct in saying that this leaves me with only the month of May to choose from?

Gail,
MAy was great and if your school gets out early enough you can still get in on off peak season. The past 2 years my kids have been getting out on the 19th or 18th or so. This year that allowed us to be on the 1st double dip. Also, a bonus at that time, is the school year is almost over, so even if your DD missed school, you wouldnt have to worry about if she missed more later in the school year because, guess what..its about done! HAHA

dzneprincess said:
I agree! On every cruise we have been on head server non exisitent! EXCEPT for oct 03 when PJ was it! HE was great! He is now over PALO...and this past cruise the May double DIP we had Alekandra and she was AWESOME! We saw her every evening and she would do thinkgs like cut up my DS meat, and she remembered what desserts some at our table liked (key lime pie) and brought them a slice out every night! SHE was well tipped! We liked her ALOT and hope we get her again this cruise, if she is even still on board...

I think everyone is late dining except me and DD. I started to call and switch, but I really think that we will end up not eating in the dining rooms many nights anyway. You won't all get away from me though. Some of you are stuck eating Palo Brunch with me!

gssmks said:
We are talking about two different things. I must have the name wrong. I am talking about the package where you get chocolate covered strawberries, and sparkling cider. , I would ask them to order them for my DD.

Okay we did have that in Jan DH ordered it for me as a surprise because I took his mom....honestly it was nice thing to have on embarktion but almost the whole thing went into the trash because we were so full from lunch and stayed that way..but they do usually have on formal and semi formal nights champagne and strawberries in the atrium...maybe you could partake one of those evenings?

Stargater said:
Hubels aka Stargater will be doing the Chaccohoben Ruins. We were unsuccessful in making PALO res. so we are driving over very early from Largo to be one of the first in line. DD8 has made our signs and we are in cabin 6315 and we have the 8:30 seating. Look forwart to meeitng you all!!!

I think we are neighbors seems like I have 6317 but I dont remember

Asha, not trying to be so personal or anything but this always makes me curious when I hear of couples divorcing....do you think you loved him and fell out of love, or do you think that you were in love with love, and once that faded the rose colored glasses came off? Any of you that have been divorced please feel free to weigh in...
Like I said I love my DH dearly and I cant imagine being divorced....but yet I hear of couples getting divorces at 10,20 30 years of marriage..that is kinda scary..you would think that after 10 years one would have it down pat and the bumps the road would be few and far between.... BTW DH and just had our 13th anni..

hmmm.....hard one..okay well at 23 I thought I was in love...but looking at with my 35 year old eyes now I can see it was not...Im going with the rose colored glasses coming off :thumbsup2 and they come off during my pregnancy with Rekha. I stuck it out for another 7 years because divorce was something you just didnt do in my culture. I was miserable and unhappy every week of my life those 7 years. Finally in 2001 he ran off with a women (whom I have thanked in person for taking him) and now my life is sweet :)

So now that u all know my pathetic story...please dont hold it against me!!!!

dzneprincess said:
That is very nice. I am glad to hear that not all divorces end up in hate. Some people are better off friends then spouses and it sounds like you and your EX fit that bill.....I love my DH so much right now, that if God forbid we did get a divorce I could not imagine being hateful towards him or him towards me....

This is funny. The box that I shipped today was big and very heavy. DexH came and took me to the UPS store to ship it. On the way there, I told him that I had been posting these things about us. We had a good laugh, because we realized that we probably spend more time together, and we certainly talk more, now than we ever did when we were married. It's strange sometimes, but it works for us.

JOANNEL said:
I I . I have reached my first goal!!!!!!! I am down 50 lbs. So when I get back I have 30 more plus what ever I gain on the ship  to get off. Then I need to meet a plastic surgeon to remove all the excess. I am too old for it to go back where it came from. Thank God for clothes!!!!!

Well I !!!!!!!!!!!

Joanne I am so envious of you! You need to send a new picture as we wont recognize you from the one you sent it! WTG!

never done it on board but I do have the "oh look! A hidden Mickey" sickness that plagues so many of us Disney freaks and only confuses those who are not affected!

I have bought the book Hidden Mickeys: A Field Guide to Walt Disney World's Best Kept Secrets. It has Hidden Mickey scavenger hunts for all four parks and most of the resorts. Since DD and I are going for thirteen nights in Dec. , we are going to take the time to try to see how many of them we can find.

The way I look at it most kids don't have parents that do anything with them and when you find a parent or parents that take time for their kids you more than likely have a parent that is also interested in their kids education and will stay on top of it. It may not be the most genius theory but it is mine...
amy

This is exaclty what I was trying to say earlier but you did it so much better! Bravo! I think it is a great theory

I try to do this...I want to do this...but in reality, I am usually flying out the door with stuff left all over the house. I do manage to take out the trash and run the dishwasher (forgot once, EEWWWW that smell!)

But when I have managed to do this, it is so wonderful coming home to a clean house!

Thank you for making me feel better I was begining to worry that I was the only one who couldnt manage a thorough clean down b4 I leave for a vacation...but the times it does happen it sure is noce to get home to clean house

gssmks said:
Oh, I used to be the same way until I got divorced. Then I found myself with twice as much work to do and because I was having to do all the running with my DD instead of having my husband to help, I had half as much time to clean in. I started hiring my neice to help with the weekly stuff like dusting and organizing. Then when DD got older and starting the soccer, cheerleading and basketball, I just couldn't do any more. I had no choice but to hire someone. I asked around, and the lady that I use has cleaned for a lot of people that know for years and everyone highly recommended her. She is a single mother who raised two fine boys by herself by working a full time job and cleaning in the evenings and weekends. I have used her for about three years now, and don't know what I would do without her. She doesn't come all the time. I take care of the day to day stuff. She comes about every two weeks and helps me catch up what I've let go. Then we try to do this heavy duty cleaning every three months or so. It probably needs it more often but she takes care of her regular families first and schedules me around them. I wasn't real comfortable with it at first, but when I seen how much cleaner my house was staying with her help, I got over it quickly. She cleans places that I don't think I had ever touched, like the tops of door facings and the top of the refrigerator. To me, I couldn't see it, I didn't need to clean it.
Oh how I wish I could find someone like this.... Do youd sharing around what a service like this costs? I cahad mini maids out one time for an estimate, and for what they were charging and the little that they would do, I did not feel it was worth it. We can manage the day to day stuff, it is the stuff you are talking about the escapes me, and if I am going to apy somebidy $$ to clean it is going to be for stuff like that not, vacuuming dusting and toilets...
