Well annual passholder rates came out yesterday. We had originally planned to book our room at the Contemporary. It was $659.00 for 3 nights and we need 2 rooms. I pulled rates for Coronado Springs and it was $317.00 for 3 nights so we switched resorts. It would have been nice to be on the monorail line but over double the price did not seem worth it. We have breakfast reservations at Chef Mickey's on Saturday morning at 9:00. We decided to take a cab from Coronado to Contemporary, have breakfast and then take our limo as planned.

Our July 2nd date to book Palo is getting closer. I need to decide what we are going to do and convince the rest of our party to do the same. I think we are going to have dinner on Wednesday. That menu did not seem that exciting to me. I think we will do brunch on the 1st or 2nd day at sea. We don't care so whatever is open. We hopefully will have the character breakfast on the 3rd day at sea. We requested the PLA rotation second seating. Someone help me remember, is it $10.00 per person for each time you go plus tip? What do people usually tip?

Now I just need to book my air. We are planning on taking Southwest but nothing good has come out yet.

I have been keeping up with the character breakfast thread. Apparently the character breakfast onboard is not like the WDW character breakfasts. Yes, they used to be the same, but now it is just a character party in the restuarant. The characters don't come to the tables anymore. They dance in the aisles, and the kids get to join in.
I am disappointed since that was one of the things I was most looking forward to. Our previous Disney cruise was 4 day so we didn't have a character breakfast. I told both DDs that we would have one on this cruise. Now we will not.

What a wicked bummer! My last and only other cruise was a 3 night and we didn't have a character breakfast either. I was looking forward to that!

We went to the character dinner at the Castle and it was the same thing. I was really upset to spend all that money and be handed a card with the mice and fairy godmother's signature. Then they only danced. It was fun but not what I thought I was paying for. Now that I know this is what will happen on the cruise I will be prepared and o.k. with it.

I think we all need to send an email to the disney cruise people and voice our dislike with this.

We did the character breakfast on DCL last year (same 7 day eastern in September) and all of the characters came to the table and took pictures. They did their dance as well, but every character came by. Has it changed in the past year?

Yes, they just changed it. It is now called Island Jam or something like that.
The thread tells about the new change, what DCL has said, etc.

Thanks. I just read through that thread and that is such a disappointment. Its not going to make me not go on the cruise but I might not go to the breakfast. We'll see if DBF is hungry that morning or not. What also disappoints me are the posters that like to seem to . I don't even read the Community Board anymore because of it. But now I'm getting OT

We got some really good pictures with the characters from our DCL Western cruise in 2005. So I am happy with those. DH and I both look good in them so I can just see the characters whenever I see them.

I will give you a little more . There is a thread on the Theme parks board that people were questioning why anyone would do WDW without kids. They were going as far as saying they must be childish, unsophisticated and possibly mentally challenged. WDW is for the kids. Blah, blah, blah. Crazy people. Ok now I am done being OT.

Oh well, call me childish.............
I have BEGGED DH to buy DVC and season tickets so I can go without him. I told the kids that they will be welcome to come if they wish. However, DH doesn't need to go the way that I do so they can have the option to stay with him.
So far, he hasn't given in. But believe me.........I am working on him.

Ok... call me the old kid! Dh and I go to DL about 3 or 4 times a year!
And one trip is with grandkids.
Dh is a photographer so at least one day we just shoot pics, and... have a great dinner somewhere. The other days... look out that's our days of screamin on the rides.
