09/15/07 Early Check in September 15, 2007 Eastern

I'll tell you what I am really enjoying all the pictures. I will figure out how to get one posted of Janet and I. I just need to pick one. I think I want to include the grandkids even though they will not be physically with us this trip. (However, they are cuter.) They will be in our hearts and on our minds.

I am going to try to put together a time for us to get together and celebrate our special days. If you would like to consider being a part of the group celebation please PM me so I can start a list. Please give me names and what it is you are celebrating. If comfortable please include stateroom numbers. I don't want anyone left out so if you want to celebate with the group something that has past or is in the near future please feel free to join us. Currently I am looking at meeting for lunch on Thursday the last day at sea. Could be lots of fun. Looking forward to hearing from lots of folks. Again each of us can choose what we take part in and what we don't. If interested PM me if not just disregard the request. Lois

We would love to meet for the group celebration, but it will depend on the time. Thursday will be the day of our "wedding" (vow renewal) ceremony!!! :goodvibes And a girl needs time to get ready! LOL! :wizard:

And may I say - what a nice idea. This would be a little different. On the last sailing we had someone make door signs for apparently everyone in the DIS group and sneak around and put them up! I would be happy to do that if we don't gather for something - or well - I could do that anyway in conjunction with anything we do as a gathering. :thumbsup2

Cheers!

Captain, I would love to have your help. Anything you would like to make for our doors would be great. As I get a list of Celebrations I will get with you. You can't make much of anything without knowing the reason for the celebration. I am already aware of about 10 couples celebrating anniversaries. Thanks for offering to help. Lois

Do you know what time your "Wedding " is? I was looking for Lunch and a girl still needs to eat right. We can try to schedule so you can come. If there are others that have a time preference PM that info to me too and we can try to schedule when most can attend. Lois

Party! did someone say party:

We're in... I'll PM with our celebration particulars. Mouser has been kind enough to let me include the SECRET MICKEY reveal at the same time.

So I guess she'll post the details when we get that far along. :grouphug:

OK...

How fun... I have a decent idea of what can be done based on our last couple of sailings... so if nobody has an objections then I hereby volunteer to handle this + run the 3rd ever Mickey Ice Cream Bar Speed Eating Challenge! If anyone would like to "assist" then I welcome the collaboration too. Not that it's such a huge job - just that I believe doing these things is just as much fun as receiving or participating IMHO. Seriously, the sort of effort involved includes simply sharing input on the layout/format of the door signs - managing and ocassionally reviewing the list of would be recipients, and then splitting up the decks to walk the ship and put up the door signs in a timely manner. And as for the ice cream eating contest - that is actually easier. Just contribute ideas and then stand ready to share the judging on who finishes first. For award certificates I'll just use what we made (format) in the last two years with adjustments for date and ship.

And if no collaborators are on hand now then no problem either. As a collaborator can step forward publicly or via PM at any time from now til we embark!

Our ceremony is Thursday at 4pm....so I guess that would make me unavailable from at least 2pm on......but if it is early, that is fine!
I am so excited to cruise!
Oh, by the way....just want to share our news....Ryan WALKED today!!! He took 10 steps....it was amazing! :goodvibes

If I remember correctly Lunch starts at 11:30 or noon. If we met at that time we should be able to celebrate and get you ready as well. I'll wait and see what the needs of the others might be before we confirm a time. I don't know what the other needs might be at this time. I will do my best to include as many as possible. As with anything it is impossible to please everyone.

How exciting to be renewing your vows. If Ryan is walking I guess running won't be too far in the future. I guess you are going to be busy. Lois

Congrats to Ryan. :jumping1: Watch out mom he's on the move. How exciting.

Megan- you have to go too, you will have lots to celebrate too!! :goodvibes
I figure I will want at least 2 hours to relax, get ready and do anything prior like pics or whatever!

I cannot wait to get planning! ;)

Congrats to Ryan!!! :cool1: It goes way too fast though!!!! Everyone is so busy on this thread...it is wonderful! :cheer2: Seems as if I think I have time to post...then have to run a child to basketball, or student government, or just to wherever! We enjoy though.

Talk with you all later!

I'm currently living in half the house. They came and varnished the floors today. I'm sealed up pretty good. Ordered out for food. Can't miss a meal :rotfl2:. My family is gone and I am begining to wonder what is next. At least I have utilities. And you all! :goodvibes

I had to start over with ordering the wood shutters. Now it will be 10 to 12 weeks before the windows are covered. Special order dishwasher is in but they haven't called to schedule the installation. Washer and dryer can't be installed until the floors are done. I haven't started the funiture shopping and I have cabinets to order yet.

So maybe the boys can come home some time next year. :rotfl2:

Meanwhile, sleepovers at the Carpenter house are fun. We will be meeting with the contractor over there so he can begin on one of the bathrooms. We have done all we can it is time for the pros. Having both houses under construction at once is hard but once it is done, it's done. Finding a decent contractor in Florida is so hard, we aren't going to let him get away from us until we are finished with him. :rotfl:

I hope everyone is doing well and your week is moving along smoothly. It's almost the weekend.

It's easy...

... and it does not exactly involve cutting and pasting the image. Rather, you want the URL address of the image as it appears AFTER you've uploaded it. So... once your screen is showing the photo you uplaoded... and the uploaded image is (typically) in it's largest possible size ON SCREEN... you put your pointer over the image and tap a RIGHT click on the mouse and a windiw will pop up with options. Select "Properties" from the bottom. Now a window should pop up and look in the center for the Address (URL). To the immediate right there should be a web address line. NOTE, sometimes an address is longer than can be displayed so it may run LONGER then 2 lines long. SO - when copying this address - put you insertion point at the TOP left and while holding the left button down select/sweep the mouse towards the right and down to HIGHLIGHT the entire address. If the visible address ends in a JPG or GIF then that is the end of the address. If you do NOT see JPG or HIF then it is not the end and it may extend below the visible 2 lines.... or the address is NOT an image and you must have mistakenly selected something other then an image for PROPERTIES.

So... once you have selected the entire correct address.... you want to copy this. With the address darkened and selected you can go to the edit line at the top left of the screen and pull down to copy.... or a short cut is to hold the control key down and simultaneously tap the "C" key. I usually tap it twice as it does not hurt to do it twice.

Now your clip board has a copy of the mumbo jumbo of the address line. I like to work in a 2nd window where I open the DIS forum where I want to draft a posting. When your insertion point is where the image should go - then look for the tan box below the point between the SIZE and COLOR pull down selectors. It you hover your pointer over the tan box with a tiny mountian and sun... it will pop up a description that says "INSERT IMAGE". Tap this and a window will pop up with your insertion point blinking in it's window. Now simply hold the CONTROL key dwon and tap a "V" to insert the address on your clip board. And now give the ENTER key a tap. Your address line should now appear bracketed by
. This will be left justified in placement. I like to now CENTER the image by selecting the whole line and tapping the ALIGN CENTER option above.

Now you might want to tap the preview button to see how it will appear. If all is well then continue your draft and post when ready. The same routine applies for images ripped off the web. I run a google image search using key words for a concept I'm posting. For example - if I wanted a dancing bear... I enter google - select "images" and run a search for "dancing bear animation". The first item returned is OK... so I click it and get an initial page. I then click at the top the address again to get an ISOLATED image. I right click on this - select properties, and copy the address. And here it is below, aligned on center....

Bearm.gif

Hope this helps. I made it overly detailed - and as such it is very fluid and quick once you know the routine. You could cut a step here and there maybe but this is what I generally do.

PS... tomorrow I'll be traveling from Friday to Monday to Orlando. We're doin' WDW and US then comin' home. So... I'll not be around to lurk! Everyone have a safe and wonderful weekend! :wizard:

PSS... at the top is another dancing (Panda) bear I thought was too entertaining to not share...

Cheers!

Hi Everyone -

Just checking in!!! I have been busy trying to figure out how to digital scrapbook and have come to the realization that I need more memory on my laptop so I have been busy figuring out what RAM I need and how to install it. I ordered it from Best Buy but will have to wait till Sunday to pick it up since I live in a rural area and have no stores near me...

Congrats on Ryan's walking!!!! My son Rob just started walking the past few weeks also (although he is 17 months old...a VERY late walker)
