Good Monday Morning everyone!

It was fun yesterday getting both the pirate pirate: and swan :bride: . I wasn't thinking about them when I was doing my responses. So that just adds to the fun!

This is only a three day work week for me :woohoo: because of Thanksgiving and all. And before we know it :santa: will be here.

Have a Great Day :flower3:

Congrats on getting a :bride: and a pirate: .

I finally got an e mail back from the Radisson and they said 129.00 standard view. I wanted to know how we could get a better rate. When I sent the original e mail I asked if we needed a specific amount of rooms. They did not answer that is why I sent another one. I will post the e mail when I get an answer. I told them I have heard of cheaper rates.

Flo - one thing to keep in mind when looking at what others are paying is did they go in with a base number of rooms. Someone like the Radisson may lower the rate if you can guarantee X number of rooms instead of just asking what their best rate is. Know what I mean?

Mary,

WHen I sent the first e mail I asked that. I figurethat may be the case. That is why I would like an answer for that as far as how may for a discount. With all that are going on the BOB's cruise that may be the case.
Staying one night on at DVC sounds better.

thanks

Dave,

But that would be a non refundale rate right? You have to pay upfront. The rates (should have Been specific (Sorry)) I am talking about is if you want to cancel you could without loosing any money. They just keep your Credit card on file in case you do not show up then they charge it.

Ok were are you staying if you are staying at WDW the day before the Cruise? Just woundering. Thought it would be interesting to see.

We stayed at the Radisson last year, and we are still undecided this year. We might just fly in the morning of the cruise and off we go, but we haven't given it any extensive thought yet. It was nice staying the night before and having dinner at Grills on the water.(Thanks goes to Mary for that tip last year;) )

We're staying at Boardwalk 2 nights before the cruise and 2 nights after the cruise. Got a Boardwalk view for both!

Found the below on the Orlando Sentinel and thought I would share. It is so exciting.

Port Canaveral expansion sailing forward
By Jason Garcia, Sara K. Clarke and Scott Powers | Sentinel Staff Writers
November 24, 2008

Port Canaveral this month handed out a multimillion-dollar contract to expand Disney Cruise Line's terminal before the first of the company's new mega-liners arrives.

The $4.7 million contract with Misener Marine Construction of Tampa covers work such as building a new, deep-water sea wall and additional mooring, plus some dredging. The total project, including engineering fees, is expected to cost $5.1 million.

Canaveral is also seeking bids from contractors to build a 1,000-space parking garage for Disney passengers.

The construction is to be completed by late 2010. The first of Disney's two new cruise ships, which will hold 4,000 passengers each, is scheduled to begin sailing in 2011.

Hi everyone! Can I post a mostly off-topic question? (i.e. DVC related but not for this cruise)

I posted a thread over on the DVC Misc board this weekend, but I haven't gotten too many replies. Does anyone have any recommendations for a spa treatment(s) at the SSR SPA? My next WDW trip (yes a second trip in less than a month - spoiled aren't I? :rotfl2: ) starts mid next week and I am trying to decide if I want to do a spa treatment or 2.

For you cruise veterans, do you take your owner's locker with you? If so, does it count as a piece of luggage?

I love the Boardwalk view - something so special about waking up and being able to see Spaceship Earth from your window and then ending the day watching Illuminations.

Lucky you going to WDW at one of the most magical times of the year! Never looked into the spa treatments at SSR but just did a search. If time/money wasn't an issue they have some really wonderful full packages. If I only had to pick one thing I'm not sure what I would pick. Have fun!

Sorry no owner locker here. One of the members on last years cruise did bring her owners locker with her.

Good morning everyone - happy Tuesday! Quiet evening on the thread last night. No new posts. Everyone must be getting ready for the Thanksgiving holiday. So what is everyone doing for the holiday?

For us we'll have a quiet one at home for just the two of us. Then we'll put the tree up. Friday I'm off but I won't be hitting the stores (not my thing) instead I'll be decorating the house.

We are actually staying at a Hilton down in Melbourne the night before the cruise. We had points for a free night and we have stayed there before and love it. All the rooms face the Ocean and it is so peaceful. And we have friends that live in Sebastian and they come up to visit with us. Plus we like to stop at Ron Jon's to look around before heading up to the cruise. After the cruise we are actually looking at staying at the Polyensian (sp) for a few nights. Never stayed there before and have always wanted to and with no kids, we might go for it. If not, we will probably stay at SSR.

Our Thanksgiving is pretty quite too. It will consist of my family of 4, my sisters family of 4 and possibly two of our Aunts. That's it. Our parents go to Texas for the winter so they are not around. We do the traditional stuff, turkey, ham, and all the fixin's. Yummo. Can't wait. :goodvibes
