09/13/09 SSMC09 S.S. Member Cruise 2009 - Part 4!

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Good Morning all of my friends and WOW, do I wish the same thing as you guys - please take me back to Deck 9 and that sun that stared us right in the face!!! What I wouldn't give to be there right now with all of you!

Time keeps getting away from me with middle DS being home! I'm trying so hard to spend as much time with him as possible because I don't know when for sure he will be home again! AHHH, to be young again!

Chris, I'm glad the concerts were nice. Dustin had his last week and it was fantastic! He played the trumpet in the jazz band and the trombone in the concert band - boy, he sounded great! He's the first of my three to really play an instrument and stick with it and it has been really fun to listen to him! The next big adventure - and I mean big literally - he brought home a TUBA yesterday! He wanted to try it and his music director is allowing him one song in the spring concert - she said she needed him back on the trombone for the rest of the pieces! So things will be sounding a little strange in our house for awhile!

Hey Dave - went bowling last night!! We had a blast, but I didn't bowl very well! I was in the 150's every game - at least I was consistent - poor, but consistent! Tom on the other hand had his highest game ever - a 258! Then he proceeded to have his best series - a 677! He was very happy - the showoff!!! It was a great time all together!

Well, it's our turn for a winter blast! We are being forecast for a major winter storm tomorrow! they are now saying we will get between 8 - 12 inches - yes, I know Chris - not much compared to you guys! But here, that will put a big damper on alot of Christmas shopping tomorrow!!

I'm almost done my shopping! Dave, glad to hear you are almost ready to go! It will be a wonderful Christmas with the Mouse!!

Joanne, glad you are home safe and sound! Isn't it great when it snows on Main Street! And the Castle is fabulous with the ice-look! We were there when they did the very first test run of that and it was just breath-taking!

Well, I turned another year older on Tuesday and am none the worse for wear! Had a really nice day, especially since Tom was here! He even made me my very own customized and personalized cribbage board - hope you all know about the game of cribbage. I just oved it - but more the effort that went into the idea - and he had some help from DBFF Gail! It will always be a highlight for me forever! And DAVE - you'll be jealous - I got a tiny little book about towel folding - also from Gail - we laughed and laughed as we told Tom the story of you and the "snake"!!

Well, off to finish a few errands before tomorrow's storm! I'll try to hop on later - and tomorrow, I should be home all day getting ready to make cookies!!

Love to you all!!!

Sue-Glad to hear from you!! Stay safe in the bad weather heading your way, and that was a nice job on the Bowling!! I still laugh when I think of the "towel snake"!!:lmao: We are looking forward to our trip, thats for sure!

Morning Everyone!

Happy Friday!

Have a good weekend.

I can't believe that next week is Christmas.

Flo-I can't believe how quick it came up this year either.

Thanks Flo. It was a very nice concert.

Chris- Happy to hear the concert went good. Are you expecting any snow from this huge storm heading north east?

Have a good day everyone!!

Good day, fellow cruisers!

Like Sue, we're anticipating getting smacked w/a lot of snow tonight and tomorrow. I can hear my back crying already :rotfl: .

Chris, I'm trying to get some pics up but for some reason my computer is not recognizing my camera's memory stick :confused3 . So I'm trying to figure out what else to try...

Dave, I hope you all have a lovely time at WDW when you go. Everything is so beautiful dressed up for Christmas, and that castle! I've got no words.

Everyone stay warm, safe, and healthy!

Happy Belated Birthday Sue!

Glad you had a good day.

We to like cribbage. IT is a fun game.

Hello DIS Friends!!!!!

Great to see everyone is doing well.

Well, I almost finished up my class on Wednesday night. I say almost because I still have a paper to submit. But, what a BIG relief that everything else is done. Words can not begin to describe what a rough 7 weeks we had for this class. Hands down I think this was my toughest one. I think primarily due to the frustration with 'the group' but it is over. Everyone in the class provided feedback to the instructor about the work load. We all liked the class and found the project to be a good part of the class but just all the other stuff piled on top of it was just way too much.

When the class got over close to 9pm I headed straight to our shopping mall. DD's 6th birthday was Thurdsay, 12/17 and I did not have any birthday presents for her. I was so lucky that I had gotten her a pair of pale pink Ugg boots when we went shopping for her dress shoes and dress coat the prior week. The best part was that I got them for half price She had no idea I bought them but when I paid for her dress shoes I asked them to check for the boots in her size. They did so I paid for the boots and they put them aside. Thank goodness I got out of class when I did since the mall closed at 10pm that night. The Disney store is just a couple of doors down from the Stride Rite shoe store so of course I had to run in there and get her some Ariel pjs. Remember those Halloween bags the kids and I gave out on the cruise. Well, in the store they have a variety of different character bags. They have Happy Birthday bags so I got her the one with Minni Mouse. I filled up the bag with her goodies and had that sitting in her chair at the table for breaksfast.

DD had a great day!! I had made cupcakes for her that Wednesday night so she had them to take to school on Thursday.

We, like Joanne and Sue (and Marsha and Monika since they are right along the same path of the storm) are expecting a lot of snow. I could not believe it when I first heard it on the radio. Prior to today (Oh I guess at this point it is officially yesterday) I had not done one thing to prepare for Christmas other than putting up our tree. Thank goodness I did that back in the beginning of November or we would not have had a tree. I took Friday off and headed out shopping at 10am. I got home at 10:30 pm. I am not done but I did get a lot done. It was a very long day and I am exhausted.

I really missed chatting with you all. I would find myself wandering off wondering what you were all up to and wishing I were chatting with you. I have noticed it is much slower out here and it only takes me a few minutes to catch up on the posts.

Dave - Have a WONDERFUL time at WDW for Christmas. We just love being there around the holidays. I want to be there for Christmas one day. Maybe when the kids get a little bit older.

Chris - Sounds like you are the busy one these days with all the activities. Great times!!

Sue - By the time you read this the snow should have arrived for us both. As of the last time I checked it was not yet snowing.

Flo, Mary, and everyone else out there - Stay safe and warm. Sounds like you all have been having some very cold weather.

Falling asleep as I type so I better get to bed. Tomorrow will be a cleaning day since I will be snowed in. Take care.

Morning Everyone!

We got some snow last night but not as bad as the East.

Lisa - Glad to see your post. Congrats on completing the class. I am sure it is a great relief. Happy Belated B Day to DD.

Hello All! I hope everyone is safe & warm & enjoying the holiday season. My family is though I still do not have all of my Christmas shopping done. I thought I would be able to do some this weekend but I was wrong. We are snowed in. When I went to bed it was snowing, when I woke up it was snowing, and it is still snowing off and on. This the most snow I have seen since I have lived in MD. We have about 15 inches and it is still falling.

Morning Everyone!

Happy Christmas Week. (can't believe I am saying that)

Hope everyone had a great weekend. I finished christmas shoping.

Any one that got all that snow hope you are all safe, sound and dry.

Good Morning!

Hope everyone had a safe weekend....especially those on the east coast.

We got 25 inches of snow here this weekend. :scared1:

Thank goodness I took Friday off to start my shopping. I have not left the house all weekend and the kids are home today due to the schools being closed. Now, if they do not go back to school this week then I am in big trouble. But, not going to let it bother me. I have their presents so that is what is most important. Well, most of their presents. We are waiting for one to be shipped to the store.

Sue - Happy Belated Birthday!! Sorry I missed it.

Dave
- I hope you and your family are able to get to WDW without any problems. Not sure what the forecast is for your area but it looks like they are calling for more rain/snow on Christmas Eve down here.

Flo - Thanks for the birthday wishes for DD. Her Christmas play on Saturday was postponed until after Christmas and we also had to cancel her birthday party on Saturday. Fortunately, she celebrated her birthday at school and at her dance class the day of her birthday so she was not upset.

Okay, back to work. This is my only day of work this week so I have lots to do.

Regards, Lisa

Yikes, I can't believe Christmas is this Friday! We've had DGD19mos since Wednesday; her mom and dad couldn't make it down here to get her because of the blizzard (I think her dad's going to try to pick her up today). We got somewhere between 18 and 24 inches; it was hard to tell because of the heavy winds we got, but the birdbath had a huge mound of snow on it, so I know it was a lot!

Yesterday I bundled the baby up and let her out on our covered deck, which got a small amount of snow on it due to the wind, and she had a good time playing with the snow. Naturally, she had to taste it and pronounced it "cold." She looked so darn cute in her winter clothes and boots with her bright pink cheeks! (Yes, I'm just a little bit biased ;) .)

I'm really glad I had my shopping and wrapping just about done. It would have been hard to do the last 5 days w/the little one around. This year we dressed the tree in mostly older, unbreakable ornaments because I knew she'd be fascinated w/it. And is she! (I've been calling it our Charlie Brown Christmas tree :lmao: .) We bought one large Mickey head ornament (metal) while we were in FL and put it on the front of the tree. She loves spinning it around.

Lisa, I'm glad your DD had birthday parties too. It's hard enough to be a Christmas baby!

Sue, another belated Happy Birthday from me :woohoo::woohoo: . Sorry :sad1: .

Dave, have a fabulous time and stay safe and healthy.

Flo, how does Bolt like the snow? Our dog likes to throw herself on her back and make doggy snow angels. It's the funniest thing to see.

Mary, how are you feeling?

Good Morning Everyone!!

Hope all stayed safe this weekend. We ended up with 12" of snow but nothing like they had South of us.

Lisa-Glad to hear your class is over, good luck with your paper!

have a great day everyone!

We were watching all the news reports from the East Coast. Yikes you all got hit hard. Hope things are better today and you can finish up your Christmas shopping.

Mary, how are you feeling?

Thanks for asking! Feeling good and just got back from the oncologist with a thumbs up and I'm good for the next three months. Only downside is I had my yearly mammogram done last Monday and they found something that want to take a look at so I go in for a more detailed one this Thursday. Hopefully nothing major but you know me I'm a worrier.

We had a great weekend with a quick one night trip up to Milwaukee. Our favorite Irish band up there were doing a Christmas Concert. So we went out for a nice dinner at Claim Jumper, then to the concert and stayed overnight. Had breakfast on the way home at Cracker Barrell and then some grocery shopping and got home late morning. Mark then spent part of the afternoon copying our wedding video (from 1990) onto his computer so he can made a DVD out of it. What a walk down memory lane!

Dave - safe travels down to WDW. Have a blast!

To all my other friends here on the thread our best wishes for a very Merry Christmas!

Joanne - Bolt just loves this weather. He wants to be out side all the time. I also have fun playing with him in the snow. He is funy. He even has my older Shepard out there with him.

Mary - :littleangel: Hope what they saw is nothing.:grouphug:

Good Morning All!!

Hope everyone is all set for Christmas, we are set and ready to leave..:cool1:

Mary, I hope everything is okay, we will keep you in our prayers.

Joanne, are you still on for the TA? Lots of people dropping it seems over there.

Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning, everybody. I can honestly say without any hesitation at all that I wish we were all back on CC singing Jimmy Buffet and drinking twofers. Oh, well, we all have to keep DREAMing about the 2011 member's cruise, right?

Dave, yes, we're still planning on the WBTA. I haven't been on that thread in a couple of days, which is funny because I check this one a few times a day, most of the time.

Flo, I wish I could see Bolt playing in the snow. Do you have any recent pics of him?

Mary, we're sending a boatload of PD your way. We pray that all works out well.

Morning Everyone. Haven't been around lately cuz I've been busy with the kids and christmas and the weather. Ughhh. Plus I think I have a sinus infection now.

I hope all on the East are doing well with all that snow you got. I thought we got alot, but nothing compared to out there! Wow! Looks like a white christmas afterall this year. :thumbsup2 The only bad thing is now for us they are calling for a big storm to hit Wednesday through Friday. Only this time it is calling for ice for us in the middle of the state. Snow up north of us and just rain to the south. We're stuck in the middle. We just hope that the front moves a little and we will be in the snow part of the storm and not the freezing rain. Hate that freezing rain.

Sue - Happy Belated B-day!

Dave - you, Tanya and the girls enjoy your Christmas Vacation at WDW.

JoAnne - sounds like you had fun with your DGD. Sometimes I wish my kids were that little again.

Lisa - Congrats on finishing the class.

Mary - hope they find nothing. You'll be in my thoughts.

Stay safe out there everybody! :flower3:

Joanne - I will take one this weekend and post.

Chris - I am getting over a sinus infection that turned into Bronchitis.

Hi everyone! I can't believe that it has been so long since I posted. My trip to WDW this month was a lot of fun, but I don't think that I will do another December trip (except maybe a long weekend) for a few years. It is just too crazy trying to get ready for Christmas after taking a week+ vacation in early December.

2 more days of work for me until we are shut down until Jan.

Things have been crazy since I got home last week, especially since my mother ended up in the hospital the day after I got home. She is still in ICU but has seen some small improvements this week.

Robbie, I am so sorry to hear about your mom. I hope she'll be well as fast as possible.

Flo, it'd be great to see Bolt; I bet he's grown a lot since we last saw photos of him.

Robbie - :wizard::wizard:for your mom

Joanne - Yes he has gotten bigger.

Morning Everyone!

Hope all is well.

Can you believe tomorrow is Christmas Eve and friday is Christmas.:scared1: This year has sure went by fast.
