Hello Everyone and Happy Thursday.

It's going to be a beautiful day here. Sun is out, sky is blue and the birds are singing. It will be about 55 degrees today. I love spring time.:sunny:

Chris...a belated Happy Birthday to your grandmother.

Dianne...sounds like a wonderful day. How is your new DGD doing?

Have a great day all. :thumbsup2

Take care.....Monika :flower3:

Monkia, the DGD is doing fine, they are all fine. My mother was kidding with me the other day. She said, I had to have more grand children than her, I now have 5, she has four. :rotfl::rotfl: I keep telling her these are hers also.

Oh well have a great day

Good Morning all...It is nice here this moring and 38 degrees.

It should be about 55 at noon with rain this afternoon. They are saying it will be in the 60's this weekend.

Have a great day!!!!

Happy Thursday Everybody!

Dianne - sounds like you have a fun and busy weekend to look forward too! And Mary has a nice relaxing one to look foward to.

Glad everyone's weather is finally straightening out. NO MORE SNOW, NO MORE SNOW! I just keep saying that. It has to be over with now. My daffodils and tulips are coming up. :flower3:

That's really too bad about the crash down in Disney. How terrible to have that happen while on vacation. And for someone not to make it. :sad1:

Have a good day! :flower3:

Hi everyone! Is everyone having a good week? Let's see, on my end, after not booting for 1 evening, my laptop decided to work again. Of course, now I am afraid to shut it down. :rotfl2:

In other news, I started back at Curves this week. I went there years ago and liked it but stopped after about a year and a half.

Good morning everyone - happy Friday.

A blessed Good Friday to those of you who celebrate Easter.

Happy Passover (for a few days now) to those who celebrate that.

Looking forward to a nice quiet weekend.

Robbie - congrats on going back to Curves. I've never been but I do need to get moving again which is why we went with the Wii Fit.

Flo - our place is open so off to work I go. In fact I've never worked at a company that had Good Friday off. I know some do but none of the ones I've worked at has so I really don't miss it.

Happy Friday All!

Robbie - Good luck with Curves. I used to go there and it helped my greatly. I had lost over 20lbs while going, but needless to say, I quit going and have gained it all back. And since then our local Curves has closed. So, I applaud you for going and wishing you the best of luck!

Mary - I'm with you, and needing to leave for work right now. We don't get the day off either. In fact, from New Year's to Memorial Day we don't have a day off unless we take vacation.

Have a great Friday! :flower3:

Good Morning Everyone!!

Mary, Chris, and Flo - sorry you have to work today. I am fortunate enough to be one of those that has the day off. The company I work for follows the NYSE holidays so I am off to Lowe's this morning.

I have lots of things to do around the house - inside and out. One major thing being cleaning up the garage. The treadmill is currently being used as a storage area. So, that is one of my major goals.

Calling for rain this afternoon so I will try to get some yard work done first and then head inside.

I am happy to report that for my first two weeks with the BL Challenge on the WISH thread I have lost 7.5 pounds. Very exciting considering I have not really had time to get an exercise program started.

Robbie - Good luck with Curves. I would love to do something like that but no time right now with our schedule. That is why I am going to try to get a work out area in the garage set up. Keep us posted as to how you are doing.

Have a wonderful day!!

Here's wishing :wizard: you all beautiful weather this weekend.

Regards, Lisa

Lisa, Conrats on the weight loss.

DH & I are trying to lose weight too. We are a team of two.

I had off this Good Friday and so did DS (his daycare was closed.) So, I took the opportunity to go to the post office to send off for DS's and my passports. So, now that is checked off of my list. Next thing to do is get gifts for the fish extenders.

I also took the time to do some laundry, which I have been neglecting, and to file some mail, which has been piling up, and tidy up the house a little. Now, I am taking a little break.

We did not have plans for Easter except to go to church. But, last weekend, DH's birthmother told us she was coming into town for an eye doctor's appointment and staying through Easter. So, we are headed up to the grandmother's house to spend Easter with the family since we do not get to see his mother that much because she lives in Barbados.

I hope all of you have a Happy Easter.

Hi everyone!

I'm not sure how all these days have passed, but its been awhile since I've posted.

I wasn't feeling so great at the beginning of the week. The stress of looking for a job was really taking its toll. I was really overwhelmed with everything and getting pretty scared with the financial situation. But I'm feeling much better now.

I worked out with a personal trainer this morning and I can't believe the difference in how I feel - both physically and emotionally. They say that exercise helps you cope with stress and I sure believe that now.

So you're wondering how I can possibly complain about money and then talk about working out with a personal trainer? Well....here's the story:

I was looking at my bank account and noticed that $59.00 a month was still coming out for a gym membership I never use. I thought it would just stop coming out once my contract was up. So I call to see when the contract expires and they tell me that it expired almost a year ago and I've been on an automatic renewal plan. I was irritated with myself for not calling sooner, but I had them cancel it. I've only been to this gym twice so it was a big waste of money for me.

A little while later the owner calls me back and says he remembers working with me on one of my visits. He feels bad that I wasted all that money and offers to give me 20 free personal training sessions to get me on track. He said he felt like I had prepaid for the time and he would not charge me anything additional.

Pretty cool huh? I mean, it was my fault for not using the membership and I never even asked for a refund or anything.

Anyway, this morning was my first session and it was a killer. I am really sore, but I feel great. He made me schedule two more sessions before I left. I think I'm more apt to keep up with it since I know that he's waiting for me to show up.

Wow, Kelly, you are lucky. Most places would pretty much not give a darn. Good for you.

And good for all of you who are doing such a good job w/exercising and keeping healthy. I'm lifting weights (18 lb DGD) and power walking (baby in stroller) :lmao: .

Good Luck to everyone with there weight loss.

The WISH forum is another forum here on the DIS. It stands for We're Inspired to Stay Healthy. It is for weight loss, diets, etc. They do a DIS version of Biggest Loser to correspond with the show.

Here is a link to the Biggest Loser thread over there. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2124343

I also got a WII fit. I ordered it on-line from Best Buy and at least part of it has come in. Why the WII fit if I am going to Curves? Well, I need another piece of exercise equipment around the house that I have only used a couple of times! :rotfl2: OK the honest answer is, that I wanted to try it so that I can use it if I don't get to Curves for a couple of days.

Thank you! That's too bad that your local Curves closed. It is such a no-pressure environment that I don't feel intimdated going there.

I am hoping that I can stay going. So far this week, it has been the excuse that I needed to actually leave work on time. So now I just have to keep it up.

Hi Chris!

I see Mary gave you the link. That is to the main thread. There are actually two other active threads. One for the Purple Team and one for the Green Team.

I am on the Purple Team. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2131048

You provide your starting weight and then each Friday you send your current weight. Only the weight keeper knows your weight and it is not published anywhere unless you do it yourself in your post. There are also weekly challenges which are referred to as COWs (Challenge of Week). For the first two weeks we tracked points each day based on whether we drank a specific amount of water, ate 2 servings each of fruits and vegetables. You then send your points to the person responsible for overseeing the challenges. No pressure. You participate in that if you want. People have been very friendly and supportive of one another. I do not have time to post very often but I try to at least once a week.

For the first week I was the biggest loser for my team but not the biggest loser overall. There was a person on the green team that had a higher loss percentage.

Knowing you have to weigh in each Friday gives me a little more incentive to stick to eating healthier.

I was just searching around in the Just For Fun section of the DIS boards and found the WISH section. Lots of stuff out there.
