09/12/10 - DVCers Take Over the Wonder (S.S. Member Cruise 2010) - Thread #1

wow when you are gone for a couple of days wow do you miss a lot. Oldest son turned 13 yesterday and do I feel old. Took him and 9 of his friends to the national zoo. Interesting conversations to say the least, girls, cell phones, music....

Glad to see those that have been down at WDW in the past couple of weeks had a great time! Can't wait till June when we get to go back. Then the cruise in Sept. Wish I could stay for the weekend after but have to be back in school Friday. Someone asked about favorite place to eat: Mine is Ohana for dinner with coral reef a close second. We have been fortunate to sit in the front by the tank windows so get to see all the fish. This used to be our aniversary dinner for about 5 years then my son made travel baseball teams and now we have to plan around that and he will be playing on our aniversary this year. One year Mickey was in the tank in his scuba gear. Awesome experience. Waitress said that happens every couple years and usually when there is a party in the banquet hall above the coral reef.

One place we would like to try is the Brown Derby. Some of the places are to expensive to go with kids. Since we are coming down the 10th we will have hopefully 2 dinners before the cruise so I might try to get one of those restaurants we adults would like. I should know April 1st my schedule next year and am hoping for planning the end of the day so I can scoot out of here and get a mid afternoon flight and be there by dinner time. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

i have 12 days till i go back to wdw. i am going nut just thinking about all i want to show my sister. i will turn her into a disney nut to or die trying lol. we have never seen any of the shows witch is a must see ?

We were in NJ visiting my family. We had a very nice time and the weather was lovely.

Sounds like a WONDERful weekend! My family lives nearby and I still don't get to visit with them on the weekends!

6:30am!!! We are up at that time but I can't imagine being around other people!!!

We enjoyed our weekend also...sunny and 70s all weekend - it was great!!

Saturday the four of us made the trip to the closest Disney Store about 1 1/2 hrs away. I wanted to get some Disney Dollars for our Easter Egg hunt - but they don't sell dollars anymore only gift cards!!!Since it has been well over 6 months since I was there last, I was so bummed out!! I also missed the preordering of Princess and the Frog so I didn't get the Collector Tiana to go with my Snow White!! But I managed to find a few things and then we headed to the outlets and outside!! I found the girls some summer clothes and then we stopped at Rita's for our free Italian Ice. If you do not know what Rita's is....you are missing out!!!!

Yesterday the girls and I had a playdate with friends of ours - 2 of my girlfirends have 2 girls each also so together we have 6 girls between 3 and 6!! We have since added 2 other friends each with 1 girl - no boys?!?!? Now that the big girls are older and in school and with all of our work schedules we don't get to see each other as much - so it was an especially fun afternoon sitting in the sun and the girls ran around like crazies!!

I have been busy planning a little tip booklet for the fam for our trip in 20 days!!!! Most of them have never flown and all but us and 1 sister have never been to WDW!!! I am the utlimate planner so I am putting together some info like park hrs, bus info, info for the ME, ETC....I am nuts but I am having fun. It's helping me get focused instead of dreaming of WDW all day!!

Happy Birthday to your TEENAGER! LOL I'll be at that point in two and a half short years! My dad and step mom always planned their vacations around my younger sisters' fast pitch softball tournaments. Those were the only vacations my sisters ever got to go on! Hopefully you'll have a Happy Anniversary at the ball field! Good luck with the early afternoon flight!

I hope your sister turns into a Disney nut....I mean, what's not to like about WDW?! We're not much into the shows, but FANTASMIC IS A MUST SEE!!!!

12 days! Have a safe and wonderful trip. I have never seen Spectromagic but I hear it is not to be missed.

Thanks for Giana's birthday wishes - 3 is big!! Or so I have been told MANY times. We are celebrating with a bowling party for both girls -my older will be 6 Apr 25 on Apr 3 - so we had cake and gifts from us yesterday - but that was enough to make us do the candles 2 times and of course the I am 3 - I am big like Audra (Big Sister)!!

vedlin71 - I am taking my fam (and my DSis) for her first trip in 19 days and I am planning to convert EVERYONE!!! If only everyone could live in the joy of WDW!! yellowrose11469 - keep repeating "I will not get hooked" the magic is powerful!!

HIIIIIIIIIII, WE WERE THERE IN DEC AND JUST GOT BACK LAST WEEK. ALL THE TIMES WE HAVE BEEN THERE BEFORE WE NEVER SAW LION KING SHOW AT AK. NOW IVE SEEN IT 3 TIMES AND WILL GO AGAIN. THIS TIME WE HAD A PERSON IN A WHEEL CHAIR SO WE SAT AT VERY FRONT, THAT WAS GREAT. THE DANCERS COME UP TO YOU.

WE ALSO RECCOMEND FANTASMIC AT DHS, SPECTROMAGIC PARADE AND FIREWORKS WHICH IS LIKE A SHOW. THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE REMOVING SPECTRO MAGIC PARADE AND BRINGING BACK MAIN STREET ELECTRIC LIGHT PARADE ITS LED NOW. BUT I FORGOT TO ASK GUIDE WHEN. RIGHT NOW ITS INTERESTING WALKING AROUND EPCOT WITH THE GARDEN SHOW BUT GIVE IT A COUPLE WEEKS FOR THE FLOWERS TO GROW.

I ALWAYS RECCOMMEND THE BEHIND THE SCENES TOURS. KEYS TO THE KINGDOM 5 HOURS, THERE IS A 3 HOUR ONE AT AK BUT CANT REMEMBER NAME. IT WAS GOOD, YOU GO TO ANIMAL HOSPITAL AND KITCHENS AND INTO GIRAFFE PENS, AND THEY TAKE YOU ON THE SAFARI RIDE AND TELL YOU ALL THE BEHIND THE SCENES SECRETS.

I HAVE A REQUEST,WHEN WE WERE DOWN LAST WEEK I FORGOT TO GO BACK TO MK AND DHS TO GET THE DVC PINS FOR THE MOST RECENT SET. WOULD ANYONE BE GOING DOWN THERE BEFORE THE CRUISE AND BE WILLING TO PURCHASE THOSE 2 PINS. I COULD FIND YOU ON THE MEMBER CRUISE AND PAY FOR THEM. IF NOT HOPEFULLY I CAN GET THEM STILL IN SEPT. THaNKs

I hope you enjoy your time at WDW when you go in 11 days. Maybe your interchild will come out while you're there. But if not, there's still a lot to enjoy as an adult.

My husband and I are like your sister....we are all about everything Disney. There's nothing wrong with that, and there's definitely nothing wrong with NOT being a Disney nut! That's what makes this world turn round....if we were all the same just imagine how boring life would be. I think it's wonderful that you are going to Disney with your sister even though you're not a big Disney nut like her and most of us on here. That's great that you'll get to spend fun time with her.

FYI...Southwest Airlines has opened the September time frame for airline reservations. Michael booked our flights this afternoon.

Michael and I are going to be grandparents...our granddaughter is due anytime now. We are thrilled and can't wait.

Enjoying the spring temperatures. Winter is done and gone...thank goodness.

A MILLION THANK YOU,s EVERYTIME WE GO TO WDW OR MEMBER CRUISE I HAVE PINS ON MY MIND. THIS LAST TRIP WE WERE DOWN THERE I WENT TO THE WATCH STORE WHERE THE MAIN PIN STATION USED TO BE BECAUSE I FORGOT AND I PANICED THEN WENT TO FRONTIERLAND BUT THEY WERE OUT OF MK MEMBER PINS BUT WE WERE LEAVING BEFORE THE NEXT SHIPMENT WAS COMING THE NEXT DAY. IM WORKING ON SHADOW BOXES AND THEMED PHOTO GROUPINGS MATTED AND FRAMED TO HANG IN MY DISNEY ROOM. I TAKE PHOTOS OF EVERYTHING YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU CAN USE THEM.

YOU SHOULD HAVE NICE SPRING WEATHER BY THEN, EPCOT WILL LOOK REALLY NICE BY THEN SINCE ALL THE FESTIVAL FLOWERS WILL HAVE A CHANCE TO FILL IN.

WE BOOKED OUR FLIGHTS TODAY!!!!!! I DON'T like our flight out to Orlando....DH wouldn't budge on the September 11th date. He doesn't want to fly in any earlier than that date! Oh well....airfare was SUPER CHEAP!!! YAY
