09/08/07 Early Check in September 8, 2007 Western

We are also going to celebrate our anniversary on this cruise. We were married 30 years on May 28th. We don't do gifts, we do trips....
I see that there are lots of celebrations in our group.
Michele

Yup! We are celebrating our 2 year ON September 11th, so we will be onboard. And we actually got married ON the ship!!!!!!!!

Happy Anniversary Bareacuda.:cool1:

Since nobody got their tix yet did everyone buy insurance in case of bad weather or anything?

I think I remember somebody else celebrating a birthday the same day as my wife?? Or did I dream that?:rotfl:

Bill

Docs should be coming any time now. It's usually about three weeks out that they go to your travel agent or to yourself if you booked on your own.

We did do insurance, but not through Disney. We do it through TravelEx. WAY cheaper and more comprehensive. It's the best!

You know.....I THOUGHT some of these handles were familiar! so after a bit of research....we're also "veterans" of the September 10, 2005 cruise, and seem to recall a VERY warm-looking bride and groom heading back to ship on the Key West dock after the ceremony.

Let's hope the temps in KW are a bit kinder this time!

...and Happy soon-to-be 2nd Anniversary fltink and hubby!

I specifically remeber seeing you right on the dock near the ship just as we were reboarding and you said congrats to us and we told you how we were melting! :)

Ok, I have officially taken up an entire page worth of posts to catch up since I have been out of the loop for a few days. We just moved into a new house and the people who used to live there were very dirty. Well, we just found out that their cats must have had fleas because they are in the carpets and now all three of my dogs have fleas, which they have NEVER had before! We had to flea bomb the house and about a billion other things!

We are on this cruise also. Just my wife and myself.

We took the 3-day cruise in Feb and loved it.

We will hopefully be staying in DW on the 7th, so if we are, we will try an stop by.

It would be nice to meet some of the other people on our cruise before we board.

GrumpyAndPrincess

I will add you to the roster. Check out the links in my siggie to see what all we have planned. WElcome to our group. Lois

I remember in Sept. '05 there was a hurricane the week after our cruise that caused the Eastern cruise following our Western intinerary to become a Western!

We also had Ophelia spinning around north of the Port the few days leading up to that sailing. We were checking in with DCL from the Philly airport and from the MCO Hyatt to see where we were leaving from the next day.

Welcome Grumpy and Princess!! nice to have you aboard!

People on the Sept. 1 cruise just got their cabin assignments tonight.

I don't think we'll have ours until about 1 week before the cruise. I would guess they have to do the cabin assignments before they can even start sending out docs. We booked with a TA so they have to go there first before they get sent to us.

Not worried about docs, just way curious as to our cabin assignment.

2 people have posted over there with their assignments. One got a cat 9 from a cat 12 and the other got cat 10 from a cat 12.

Either one works for me.:thumbsup2

That is soooooo gross! How can people live like that! You need to be careful as well because those fleas will bite you too! yuk! I hope the new house becomes your dream come true when you are done. We bought our first house right before we were married. We moved in like a month and a half before our wedding. I loved that house. We lived there for 12 years. It was built in 1926 and had all the charm of an older home; oak crown molding, thick oak baseboards, oak doors, crystal door knobs, built in leaded-glass cabinets...I loved it. Hope yours is like that for you (once the fleas depart that is!)

I'm with you on those upgrades! If the September 1st cruisers just got there docs, perhaps ours will be here beginning of next week since we are a week apart. I won't start packing until I get my docs! Makes it absolutely more real!

WELCOME to the Cruise!
So excited to have more join this little bunch of happy cruisers.

Thank you all.

We are still trying to figure out what Excursions we are going to go on.

Any suggestions for Grand Cayman and Cozumel?

I think we are just going to do our own thing in Key West.

Grumpy and Princess,
In Grand Cayman most people opt for Stingray City to swim with the Stingrays. It's pretty cool if you've never done it before.

We've done it 3 times now.:cool1:

Just checked the Disney page and I got my cabin assignment. Got a cat 10. woohoo!:thumbsup2

Hope everyone else with a guarantee gets a nice upgrade too.

Actually, for anyone sailing GTY it is more likely that you will not have cabin numbers on your docs. Many times docs come before you get a cabin. It's not unusual.

Oh, this house is a DREAM! It's a huge old country house built in the 1790's. All hardwood planked floors, gigantic fireplace, tons of space, a kitchen right out of a Martha Stewart magazine, not to mention 3 acres of land, our own barn and 2 ponds! It's perfect! (minus the fleas!)

we booked through a TA so we already have our assignments. 6106 for us and the 2 next to us/each other as we are all traveling together.

my surgery is on fridy for my hernia and i will be off work till the cruise, so my "vacation" starts friday with a bit of pain. happy to get this done, jsut a little close to sail away time.

somebody posted something about magnets the other day, any idea on where to get the pictures magnetized at? does kinko's do that type of tuff?

Cedar point, if you haven't been there, was GRRAT!!!! (my hernia is a bit morepronounced) So if you haven't gotten there yet, make your vacation plans, 17 roller coarsters and 90% are awesome!!!

later all

21 days 22 hours till we leave!!

Congrats Bill! Now I can't stand the suspense, I'll have to find out if I got my asssignment! My DPs parents are sailing with us in a cat 9 so I'm kind of hoping the Disney Gods will take pity on us and upgrade us to a 9! How MAGICAL that would be! :cloud9:

Stina,
Let us know after you go and check. Hopefully they'll put you near your family in a cat 9. Good Luck!:)

We booked through a TA as well but had a guarantee and not assigned cabins.

Good luck with the surgery on Friday. Hope you're back on your feet real soon and good to go for the cruise!

All you need to do is go to Office depot or someplace like that and buy magnetic paper. I think you get about 5 sheets per pack and are about $3 - $4 a sheet. Then just print it on your printer.

Just print on plain paper first to make sure it prints the way you want so you don't waster the magnetic paper.

We got our cabin assignments! My sister in laws, mother in law, niece and best friend are actually only a coupl of doors down from the cabins we stayed in 2 years ago. They are in 5631 and 5629. My hubby and I are in 6015. We are psyched cuz it's one of those wierd sideways rooms and we've never had one before. We got small upgrades (Booked as Cat 12 GTYs and got Cat 11s) but we are thrilled with the locations so we are good to go!

Your house sounds awesome! :thumbsup2

:sad2: Not as lucky as fltink. We are CAT 12, deck 2 #2009 all the way forward. Bummer. Not to sound like a spoiled brat, but I'm definitely disappointed. Oh well, guess my magical upgrade karma had to run out sometime! (I've had such good luck in the past getting free upgrades) This time I'm getting exactly what I'm paying for. fltink says it's still possible the room could still be reassigned right up until sailing. Christine's parents are in #2576 center. I wish we were either closer to them (which I realize is not possible with a cat 12) or on a different deck entirely.

Last cruise we were on deck 6 and I really liked that location. It was super easy to take the stairs up or down a few decks to the major decks like 3,4 & 9. Now I'll have to take the elevator up 7 decks, because seriously, I'm not climbing 7 decks worth of stairs!
