Hey Everyone!!! This is my first post here on our cruise meet!!!! My DH is RBennett and I'm always looking over his shoulder when he is posting and looking on here, but this is the first time I've really been on the meet site. So I have a question for you, being a first timer at all this cruising stuff, how is the temperature in the Caribbean in December, more specifically at night???? RBennett and I were talking on our way home and we know we want to spend a lot of time on the deck at night, and we were wondering if there are any blankets in our rooms we can use if we get cold, or do we need to bring one from home??? :confused3

Ohh NJ has Salt Water Taffy from the Shore..

umm what else?? hmm...

Well, this year, right here in Monmouth County at Monmouth Park Racetrack, we have the Breeder's Cup, which is one of the premiere events on the international horse racing circuit. Some souvenirs from that would be cool! I'm going through the security checks to be a volunteer at the track that weekend. There will be wealthy people from all over the world in attendance and security is very tight. My son and daughter-in-law are both EMT's, and they'll be at the races both days of the event.

As for "other grandma" food--we had some tonight too. My DS and DDIL had dinner at her mother's house on Sunday and they brought home lots of macaroni salad, potato salad and pasta salad which we had with some baked chicken tonight. It was really good!

It is very warm even in Dec. I don't recall needing anything to warm up with (except DH of course! ) in the evenings. But, there are blankets in the rooms or you could just grab one of the pool towels and throw that around your shoulders or over your lap. A lite sweater would probably be enough.

And welcome! We are glad you are joining in!

Hi Pooh_Girl!

:welcome: to the !!

One thing to plan for is that the temperature in the evenings can be cool INSIDE. I usually stick to long sleeve shirts for the casual evenings and am quite comfortable. Also a light windbreaker jacket may come in handy, and doesn't take up much room in your suitcase.

Love the pictures Pfishgirl! Now that you know how to post, you can show us the photos of your upcoming cruise - we'll have to live vicariously thru you until December.

I've got PDF versions of the Navigators from the Sept 1st cruise if anyone is interested. Just send me your Email address!

We are going to Delaware this weekend. My brother, his wife, her family, my family, DH & DS are all going. DH wants to so to Maryland and get some crabs for dinner  We havent had crabs in awhile..

Oh then he said we need to stop at the outlet center and do some Shopping!!! He needs some new clothes..

We are going on the Wonder on the 20th and we will be doing the Queen Snorkel excursion.. The couple we are going with have never been on a cruise, nor have they ever snorkeled so we chose an easy one for them to get their feet wet..

I will take lots of Pics... and remind you of what you all will be seeing in December!! :woohoo:

We attended the Breeders Cup when it was at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas a few years back. It was a great event. I got all dressed up in a sundress and hat. It was fun! My Dad and his girlfriend flew down from MA to attend. They love "events" like that. They go to Saratoga every year too.

:boat: WELCOME ABOARD!:boat:

I'm glad you decided to join in! DH (Bill) has just started to get more active on here too.
One thing I do remember at night about being outside is that it was VERY WINDY!!!! Especially on deck 10. However, the air was warm. But everyone has a different comfort level. So, I would highly recommend bringing a sweatshirt or light jacket.

:wave2: He called me not too long ago stating they were getting ready for their afternoon session. He was instructed to wear comfortable walking shoes because they were doing something at Epcot. I'm curious to find out what exactly they did.

I'm doing an "Angie" and quoting myself (just kidding) . . .

They ended up doing a scavenger hunt in Epcot. However, he said it started to rain and they got soaked. So, we now have a nice Mickey poncho. He said it was too rushed, but his team won. Yea!

As you can see from the time of my posts, I can't sleep! I took Will to football practice this evening. I spent two hours chasing Cole around the park while Will practiced. I was exhausted when I got home but now I can't sleep! Luckily it was a little cooler this evening. My favorite season is Fall. I can't wait for the cooler weather. Our fireplace looks so lonely.

True Story:
We always light a fire on Christmas morning. One year it was too hot (mid 80's). So, Bill turned on the A/C so I could have my fire. One of the many reasons I love the guy!
